Hecathe felt pain and at first, he tried to ignore it, but the piercing irritating pain emitting from his nose caused him to wake up.
He opened his eyes to see that he was still in that dreaded place that had an owner too poor and unbothered to even install a light bulb, or at least that was the impression the unknown owner had in Hecathe's mind.
His eyes wandered around the dark room and he could no longer see the silhouette of that man who had punched him for some trivial reason he could not even remember.
He twisted his neck, making it look as if he was trying to give himself a neck exercise since he had nothing better to do.
His stomach let out an audible growl and he couldn't help but be annoyed. Not only was he wrongfully kidnapped instead of someone else, but he was kidnapped by such an unprofessional kidnapper that didn't even bother feeding him!
Did someone really need to ask why he was annoyed and angry?!
He was a busy man! He had a company to run!
In the last few years of his life, he had never taken a day off. Even when he was sick or had to stay up with the help of glucose being injected into his system, he had still refused to take a break and had worked his ass off every single f*cking day!!
If he was calculating right, he had been held captive here for more than a day! Two entire days when he should have been working!! When he should have been making money!!!
He was gonna sue his kidnapper for attempted murder and a bunch of other charges when he gets out of here! Not giving him food and starving him to death was also considered to be attempted murder!!
Hecathe felt his stomach acting up once again and he was so hungry that he could even munch on the metal chains wrapped around the metal straitjacket like-thing he was captured in. Everything looked edible at this moment.
He felt the area around his mouth tighten up and he licked it to see what it was, only to realize that it was the dried-up blood that had trickled down from his broken nose.
Damn it...
Even his own dried-up blood made him crave for more!
He felt as if he was going crazy; as if he had traveled back to the caveman times when humans would hunt and eat basically anything they could find.
He felt as if he was on a really badly managed survival show... He would want to sue the producer of such a show!
He tried to struggle out from the constraints once again but it was still hopeless since the metallic straitjacket covered in chains didn't even bother budging.
At this moment, he had a crazy thought in his mind that kinda scared him: What if he never gets out of here? What if the police arrive too late and can only recover his dead body by then?
He would certainly be embarrassed to face the grim reaper that announces his death with "Name: Hecathe Osborne. Died at the age of 29 due to starvation."
For the Zelium Legend to go down like that... It was unacceptable!!
Hecathe wanted to live!
He wanted to do something. He wanted to save his own life, but he was completely helpless.
All he could do was pray that his body can hang on till someone comes to his rescue with food in their hands.
A few more hours passed and the boredom caused him to fall half-asleep.
Just when he was about to enter deep slumber, he heard a loud noise and it was caused by the heavy iron door that had opened up once again.
Hecathe immediately jolted awake and opened his eyes to see if it was someone coming to rescue him or if it was his kidnapper coming to punch him again.
He wished for it to be the former, but unlucky enough for him, God wasn't willing to listen to his prayers today.
As soon as he saw the silhouette of that hateful man, he recognized it immediately. Hecathe may forget someone who had been kind to him once, but he would never forget someone who had punched him four times!
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Hecathe questioned with a hostile tone.
The man chuckled as he switched the lights on and the pitch-black room finally saw some light. Hecathe scrunched his face up as the sudden light abused his eyes.
It took him a whole minute to adjust to it and after his eyes had finally adjusted to the bright light, he looked down at his situation and then glanced back up at the man who had kidnapped him.
The man was wearing a white-colored suit blazer on top of a light grey T-shirt and white suit pants. He had jet black hair that seemed to go together with his pitch-black eyes that glared at Hecathe with an amused smirk plastered on his face.
He looked handsome and young... It irked Hecathe.
This man looked a lot younger than him and he still dared to punch Hecathe like that?!
Hecathe had never been offended like that especially by someone so much younger than him. If he were to guess the age of this man, he would say that this white suit guy looked to be around 18 or less.
There was probably a ten years age gap between them and hence, it was only natural that Hecathe was infuriated to know that he was kidnapped and treated so badly by a mere child who hadn't even grown up completely!!
Which type of 18 year old goes around kidnapping, punching, and starving people?!
The young man walked closer to Hecathe and it made Hecathe think that he was going to get punched again. He immediately shut his eyes tightly as if boldly waiting for the impact, but he felt nothing.
He heard the sound of metal clanking against each other and felt his body feeling a bit more free. It made Hecathe open his eyes to see what had happened.
The chains that had cocooned his body were all unlocked and fell down with a clank. Hecathe was shocked to see that this young man had actually set him free.
"You... Did the police threaten you to let me go or something?" Hecathe asked in disbelief as he squinted at the young man's face.
The young man laughed as he turned around without opening the metallic straitjacket on Hecathe.
Hecathe was confused as he tried to move but the only thing that he could move now were his legs. His upper body was still completely restrained.
"If you were Alphius, you wouldn't have to go through this," The young man commented without even bothering to look back at Hecathe, "I would've killed him yesterday itself."
"..." Hecathe suddenly felt a sense of pity for that poor fellow named Alphius who was supposed to be the one originally kidnapped and held captive here.
"Ya know... I'm curious," He added, "What are you?"
Hecathe frowned as he followed after the man thinking that this young man was finally gonna let him go, "I'm probably human. What about you?"
The young man chuckled but Hecathe could sense no joy in his voice, "You're a pretty humorous guy. I like it."
"And I still don't like you."
The young man turned sideways to glance back at Hecathe as he questioned once again, "To take over his body like this... What are you? What's your ability? A shapeshifter? A mind controller? Puppetmaster? Soul snatcher?"
Hecathe took a minute to respond as he heard all these bizarre options.
He mentally sighed as he thought: Just great! Not only is he an unprofessional kidnapper, but he's also a madman with a few screws loose in his head!
"I'm a... Businessman."
The young man seemed to be a bit surprised and shocked as he heard this, "You're a businessman...?"
Hecathe nodded as he assured that the dumb man had heard it right.
The young man scoffed, "A Merchant managed to take over his body? I would have to be crazy if I believe something like that."
Well... Don't you already meet that criteria?
He turned around completely and looked at Hecathe in the eye as he asked, "What's your name Mr. Businessman?"
Hecathe couldn't help but purse his lips as he heard this enthusiastic question.
Brother, you kidnapped the wrong person and punched him like your own personal punching bag. Now you're coming to ask him what his name is...? There's really something extremely wrong with your head.
Hecathe smirked as he tilted his head and asked, "Why do you think I'll tell you anything?"
The young man seemed to be a bit taken back to hear this but he still sighed as he turned back around and continued to walk, "Then again, it's not like I'll remember a soon-to-be-dead man's name."
Sadly for Hecathe, he didn't pay enough attention to understand the underlying meaning behind this young man's words.
