A woman ran in the dark and silent woods that the only thing that one could hear were her loud exhales and inhales. She wearing a wedding dress but looked like a mess, her makeup was running down along with her tears, her heels were muddy and her hair was dirty and like it had never met hair gel. She was running away from the castle ,she couldn't take it no longer! Her life was a mess, her mom gone, her lunatic brother, her sister-in-law was a hypocrite, her nephew a arrogant brat, and her loving father dead. Right now was the perfect time to escape. How could she not take this perfect opportunity? She was now twenty years old and she the duchess had recently been engaged to a forty year old king from another land so both the lands could become allies, her brother the king had made the engagement to get rid of her and no one could do anything about it, she hadn't had the courage to run away until the very last minutes of the preparation, she now had at least three miles into the forest there was no going back now. Her tears and sweat felt like freedom at last.
She was losing her breath and began to feel dizzy. Then she just collapsed to the ground still conscious but feeling pain in all her body, she was dehydrated and not used to running, she laid there for some ten seconds until she heard a sound coming through the woods. This was what she was fearing, the monsters in the forest ,there were so many rumors about people being killed by the monsters. But there was a peculiar one she was personally afraid of which was the biggest one that travels by the name of "The Feared Fabian". It's said that a ex-royal teacher had died in the woods from some unknown way, he was reborn into a monster and now roamed the woods and manipulated his prey to fall for his wicked spells and killing them in less than 1 week of torture. It's said that he is a hideous old man wearing black and no face. But yet again no one dared to enter the forest in fear of the monster.
She became worried as she heard more noises in the woods, she had the fear that it was "The Feared Fabian" but how would a man as wise as him sneak up in such a foolish way? The Feared Fabian is wiser than that, after all he had been the guilty for many deaths over the last one thousand five hundred years. But yet again she should calm down at least a bit, maybe it was bunny or even a mouse. No she shouldn't trust anyone. "Don't trust anyone not even by blood, paper and ink, or even one's self." She kept these words that her father had told her close to her heart and had use them these ten years since his death. She slowly but surely took off her bag she had taken with her bare necessities and pulled out a butter knife that was the only thing she had as a weapon, she had stolen it from breakfast. The noise came louder and louder making her heart beat faster and faster without a stop. It made her heartbeats be felt all around her body. She didn't know what to do ,to run or to attack, oh how complex the human body was not knowing how to react or what to do without having a little bit of hesitation .She closed her eyes tight and hoped for the best then she heard the creature came out, praying to the lord it was just an animal, but she opened her eyes believing it might be the last thing she would ever see but instead she saw a beautiful male deer. His fur was bright and really more pretty than her own hair, he was also very clean and without a scratch, he had at least 25 years but how could it last so long? Nevermind that it wasn't a monster ,she knew those stupid rumors were only a hoax made by the kings a long time ago.
She hadn't seen a deer since her dad had begun teaching her how to hunt.
"Very good my dear, hold that bow and arrow just like that" had once said her father.
"I'm scared dad, I'm gonna kill her aren't I?"
"Yes my dear but this is a needed skill for you to learn so you can survive, now shoot"
The only person she trusted in her life was her father so her father must have wanted the best for her right? The arrow went flying by and successfully hit the deer and that was her first and last kill, because just 5 weeks later her father perished. Then she was never allowed to touch a bow and arrow because of her sister in law. She believed a lady should not be using weapons, especially if she is part of royalty , ridiculous.
She was so relieved to see the deer and broke down crying again and stayed down for two minutes and the deer stood there staring like he was waiting for her. She then heard other noise that sounded like armed men from the castle coming closer so she stood up and ran ignoring the deer but the deer followed until she heard no more signs of the men and then noticed the deer was still there while she was gasping for air.
"You aren't gonna leave me are you?" she said putting her hands on her hips. The deer just stared so she took that as a yes then as she was about to start walking to look for a way to survive, maybe getting some wood and looking for any fruits or berries that would work and find a good place to make home and harvest herself.
The deer then said "Well I guess not." Now the duchess was sure that her sister-in-law put something in her drink again. She felt sick and confused about what had just happened, she couldn't believe it she wouldn't believe it.
She had just heard the deer talk.
