[The has successfully created an item. Will you give it a name?] Thomas' heart raced with excitement once he saw the first notification then he was immediately hit by a wave of uncertainty when he thought about naming his first creation. Did he want to name his weapon? Yes, but how does he even name it.
He never thought about it before, but it was sure a lot harder than he expected. Maybe even harder than making the item itself.
His mind had been filled with thoughts about the name for his first weapon, it was a lot of pressure since he won't have the chance to name the first weapon made by his hands ever again.
Suddenly he stopped moving and his eyes lit up. "Oh yes, I will name it Black Sting."
[The
Immediately, light particles gathered at the blade and carved the two words "Black Sting" in some unknown language on the saber's blade.
Following came several other notifications.

[One of Prometheus wishes has been fulfilled, affinity with the Firegiver has increased.]
[Affinity with Prometheus is over 80. Once ready, the user can contact the deity in order to initiate his final quest and receive the Title of Prometheus.]
"Title of Prometheus?" Thomas had no way to understand the importance of such title, yet he was able to have a faint idea.
Once he read all the notifications, the real purpose of the system and the affinity points started to make sense. While he didn't know why his affinity grew so much to the point of this final quest being available. Not that he dare initiate such thing, it was already hard enough to focus on increasing his physique level all the way to level 9 in three years and it's too childish of his part to believe this "final quest" would be easy.
Thomas close all the windows and stored his equipment back before calling Katherine.
[Thomas? Are you still in the warehouse?]
"Huh? Oh, yes. I was just about to leave, but I want to meet you first to ask your opinion about something."
[Really? What is it?]
"I can't say it in the call, let's meet somewhere quiet."
[Oho. Right, I'm just two blocks away from you.]
The two talked a little more before she closed the call.
Knowing she would be arriving shortly Thomas made sure to hide all the traces of the crafting session from moments ago and waited.
A few minutes passed before he heard somebody at the entrance. Katherine had arrived, this time dressed in formal clothes.
Her eyes searched the interior of the warehouse before stopping at Thomas.
"Did you need anything?" She headed towards him. As the first to acknowledge his potential, Katherine was the one who helped him the most since becoming an adept.
"Right. Sorry for the inconvenience, it's just that I have something I would like you to see." Thomas brought the saber he had just finished crafting and handed over to her.
"This..." Unsure at first, Katherine took the saber from Thomas' hands and inspected the weapon. The first emotion to appear in her eyes were surprise as she could not recognize the base material for this weapon.
It was also strange how the entire saber appeared to be a single piece, as if everything was done together with no traces being assembled in any way. As an mainly combat-type adept she didn't have profound knowledge about the techniques used in the making of adept weapon, but even she could see how this saber was different.
It was to be know she has been an adept for over six years, yet she has never come in contact with a weapon that felt this alien. Of course, it was necessary to look at its durability and its effectiveness before making sure of its quality but her own senses told her it was a pretty good weapon.
After making her evaluation of the weapon, she looked at Thomas in shock." How did you find such thing?"
"Er... I found it in the labyrinth. I forgot to put it in the report with all that's happening." This is what he planned to use as an excuse for having a weapon that wasn't made by human means, by putting all the attention to the newly discovered ruins underneath the city would make his life a lot easier.
"Really?" Katherine nodded in agreement with his words despite knowing deep down he was lying. Yet, she didn't care to pry and let it go.
'Everyone has one secret or two.' This is what she thought. As long Thomas didn't have any intentions to act against them, why should she prevent him from keep somethings to himself? Giving a closer look she noticed two strange looking glyphs that she didn't recognize as any of the human languages.
"What are these words?"
During the minutes it took Katherine to arrive, Thomas had already thought of everything in his mind and so he continued. "I have looked into it before and confirmed its not a language of human origin. It most likely belongs to another civilization."
Katherine didn't found it strange since she had fought numerous demons and creatures that could only be found in fantasy novels not too long ago.
"I see... Do you want me to sell this for you?"
Thomas could see she has understood his intentions. "Yes, it is in fact the reason for calling you since I do not have a high position in the association and though the instructor, as a Elite Adept with plenty of achievements could help me negotiate with the higher ups."
This was something he would came to realize last night that being an Adept couldn't solve all his problem, this was specially seeing the power and influence of the Kyle family. Even with the prof of their involvement in the underground labyrinth incident, there were no repercussions and even Luccas escaped unscathed despite the testimony of all the instructors and students in the institute.
This was even more so considering the involvement of the alliance in illegal ways of making adepts and the terrorist organizations that are against them. It made him see how tiny he is in comparison to all of these and if he wanted to stand among those giants power wasn't everything.
He needed money, a lot of money and influence so even the Alliance Council won't dare stand on his way.
Of course he knew it would take a lot more than wishful thinking in order to fulfill this vision of his. Far away in the future, this would be but one of many steps that would end with the creation of the most successful company in the history of the Human Alliance.
