"This is the Lakebell's Adept Association building. We should get off the Cruiser now" said Muller.
The hatch opened automatically as Muller, Thomas, Alice, Katherine and Claire jumped off the ship. The staller cruiser landed particular spot on top of Lakebell's Adept Association building.
"Ding!" The elevator door opened and only Thomas and Muller appeared, Claire and the others went to another floor to deal with her participaƧao in the training camp since she already had a spot. Once they left the elevator, they found an extremely gigantic training hall. The entire training hall was snowy white made with an ancient architecture, and only a single a man in a white battle armor was present there, sitting cross legged in the center.
When he first entered, Thomas' gaze was attracted by the man in in the middle of the hall. With his
"Arrived?" The man in the in the battle armor stood up and smiled as he sized up Thomas, "You must be the boy Muller mentioned. Is he to take the examination for the training camp?".
Muller slightly shook. The man in the white dojo uniform continued: "As you know the number of spots for this specific training camp are very limited since the Adept Kind will be participating which is why we gave so few spots to the teams in the nearby cities. The only way for a person without any of those spots to participate in it is to apply for the Special Elite Examination. Are you sure this kid had that capability?"
"You're right" laughed Muller, as a master adept himself he knew the implications of bringing Thomas for this exam since even high level adepts such a 2 and 3 star adepts wanting to receive a lesson from the Adept King failed.
Bringing an 3-star adept to take something so hard indeed seemed a little naive of his part. However, given that his aunt, one of the greatest adepts to have lived had such a great of impression of the youth, his expectations about Thomas' abilities were high. "Indeed, I don't know how great will be his result. But even if he fails he should at least be able to get into one of the other training camps."
The man in white armor nodded. No matter what, there's absolutely no problem in letting Thomas participating in the examination. By the side, Thomas listened to the two with confusion.
From the looks of it, this exam which Muller told him was way harder than he first thought.
"Thomas, this is the head of our Lakebell city's Adept Association, James Yong." Muller introduced the man.
Thomas recognized the name. He heard stories about the Adept known as the "Star-killing Hand", an adept from the same generation as Alice, a true 2-star peak Master Adept.
Edward and James talked for a bit before looking at Thomas. "Brat, you may not know but other than the training camp which we distributed two types of spots for this training camp, being the common-grade and Special-grade spots."
"Unlike the ordinary spots we sent to most teams, the special spots are only for the greatest talents, the true monsters that need to be carefully cultivated. Those who want to obtain one of these spots must take an special aptitude test."
"If you indeed pass, then you will be able to access an astonishing amount of resources and treatment that others in the training camp won't get. Learn subject you want with the best instructors in the whole colony. Forget about the Adept King's public lessons he will give the ordinary participants of the camp, those with the Special-grade treatment will be receiving his guidance in private lessons."
Thomas held his breath and repeatedly nodded without feeling a trace of doubt. Even the deities in the system warned about the huge sky breach, whatever was living in there isn't something the current adept society can hope to defeat.
Another reason for his decision was the row of notifications that appeared on the corner of his eye;
[Prometheus: Thomas, you must accept this chance, I'm curious about this era's manufacturing technology and want to learn more about the weapons used by adepts.]
[Bonher: I would like to learn more about the biology of this planet as well, it's really strange that we are standing in what used to be the body of an ancient deity like Gaia.]
[Ares: A place filled with talents from all over the world... Hehe, nothing beats crushing such vermins as geniuses.]
[Kez'Ganak: Special lessons from the adept king? I have fought with him before and his technique is highly skilled, it would be good learning from somebody of your own species.]...
All the deities he had a connection with had something to say about this training camp which made him think it would be a good way to learn more about his own species and himself rather than gods and demons.
