"Should I explain the order of operation?" Bell, one of the three who was fully briefed on the details, asked the agitated Sirius. She knew the subject of the Master was an emotional subject for him, especially when he perceived a wrong.
"Please do."
"Very well. I shall explain the requirements and restrictions of the order, as well as try to explain any details of the operation that seem vague or muddled." She paused to look around waiting for a response. "If there is nothing else then I shall continue. I take it none of you need to be refreshed on what an order of operation is?"
Naturally none of them did. Even Silvin, the 'youngest' member had gone through her far share of operations. She had even done a few on her own, though they weren't particularly difficult.
An 'Order of Operation' was different from the operation itself. The operation was the term they used to encompass the totality of the actions taken during the operation as well as the goal. The Order of Operation consisted of two parts, restrictions or requirements which were called rules and the rate of progression which they called a schedule.
Two different operations may have extremely similar goals but have wildly different Orders of Operations. This was the result of three factors, the candidate, the climate, and the condition.
Candidates often presented the biggest changes in the rules as different quality and temperaments of soul would change what exactly they could do to assist them, or what they had to do to get them to do something.
Conditions were what limited the end goal of an operation. They often had the greatest impact on the timetable of the operation as they usually had to complete an operation within a certain timeframe before the situation would change too much and the candidate would become obsolete, meaning they could have to restart again. Usually, they didn't need more than 250 years to complete an operation, but some imbalances in the lower laws only presented an opportunity for them to be fixed by candidates for a few hours or minutes, meaning that they were often walking a tightrope trying to get the candidate at the right spot at the right time.
Climate was the most volatile of the three and it affected both the rules and the schedule. It referred to the situation on the worlds as well as their heavenly flows. Many an operation had been ruined because the candidate, which fundamentally acts in a way to disrupt the heavenly flows, changed the conditions of their predictions to such a degree they were unable to fix it in time.
However for this operation, things would be drastically different than all previous operations.
"The Order of Operation this time is actually extremely lax, despite the scale of the operation."
"Because it is a coronation type, there is no set fore-date for the candidate to be in a certain area by. However, because the Monolith we are targeting does not have a master or is required for operation, there is no specific end-date either."
This made the more stressed members relax a bit. This meant they would be able to focus on other tasks in the middle of this operation. Some monoliths fundamentally had more work to do than others.
"Because of the goal we have planned for this candidate, there are very few actions that we will be unable to take, those being the same as usual. No killing him, no revealing his source shell name, and no subjecting him to too strong of pressure. I would also suggest not telling him how he died in his source shell, but that shouldn't be too big an issue considering why he died and how far he started from the Heaven's Will."
All of this information took a massive burden off of their shoulders. Not having to worry about accidentally tainting or misleading a candidate for once was a great relief to them.
Bell continued with a smile at some of the expressions of relief she had seen. "However the flip side is that we will have to train him to the greatest extent, Sirius wants him to be perfect after all. The condition we need to meet also means that you will be spending a considerable amount of time with him in the future should we succeed. Try to make a good impression."
Most people would be upset or at least disgruntled at having to spend so much time training a brat from such a weak state. Not these people though. Their most favorite thing to do was train candidates, and they usually didn't get to do much. The weaker they started from the better too, as that would give them that much more satisfaction in the future should they end up reaching the pinnacle. Even the stoic Forrestal was excited, shaking with glee.
They couldn't help but wonder if Sirius was gifting them a present this time around. This operation was looking far too easy and enjoyable to be a serious challenge.
Still, Bell continued with her explanation, she had one last topic to cover. "As usual climate will change, but this time it will be more drastic. Pherel has already lost confidence in her ability to predict the future."
This dampened their excitement a bit. This was worrying. Having to change their plans constantly might prove to be difficult down the line, and they would be unable to determine when important events would happen.
"What sort of name does he have to make it that difficult Pherel?" Tanya was the one to ask what was on all of their minds.
