"Since we are starting to get low on time, I suppose it is time to actually teach you the technique for drawing in and circulating the Xan of the world into your body. Try to get into the null state once again so I can instruct you on how to do it."
Arc was more than happy to follow her lead. He was very interested in this power, it was the first thing other than his mind he felt in control of.
Once again Bell placed her palm above his sternum and he felt that chilling sensation in his core.
"Be sure to remember the path that my Xan follows through you body and where it begins to build up." She slowly traced her index finger along his abdomen until it reached a point a finger's length below his belly button. The Xan in his nexus felt like it followed it, flowing through his body in predetermined pathways until it started to pool inside of his body below where her finger was. "This is your core balance point. It acts as an auxiliary to your neidan as it is responsible for holding and directing the flow of Xan to your lower body."
Her other hand joined in, with the index finger on either mirroring their positions on his body. Slowly, as she was certain to make sure he was remembering these pathways, her fingers made it to a point on his legs about halfway down his femurs. A sensation similar to the one before accompanied it, with the cold Xan pooling in and around his bones.
"These are your lower power points. They are responsible for generating power in your legs and directing Xan to your feet."
Her index fingers continued down slowly, making sure he remembered those channels. She stopped right beside his ankles. Once again he felt the feeling of Xan pooling in his ankles and feet.
"These are your lower precision points. They distribute Xan to your feet and can be used to help stabilize yourself. There is a lot more you can do with those precision points, but for now this is all we have time for."
She moved her fingers back up his legs to his core balance point, where she once again used a single index finger to return to his nexus. From there, she once again used both index fingers and traced a line across his chest, slowly sloping up towards his armpits where the Xan began to pool again. The chilling feeling was building around his shoulders and creeping towards his pectorals.
"These are your upper power points. They are responsible for the power in your arms and distributing Xan towards your hands."
She traced her fingers out his arms to a point roughly a third of the way up his forearms.
"These are your upper precision points. They are very much like your lower points but with a few slight differences. I will tell you more about them later."
She traced her fingers back up to his shoulders, but instead of heading to his nexus she instead traced up his neck to his head, stopping at his lips. He felt the Xan swirling around a point just above the back of his throat.
"This is your sensory point. It will work to enhance your senses and improve your reaction time. It ranks third in importance after the nexus and core balance point."
Bell then moved her index finger from his lips straight down to his nexus once again. The feeling of Xan was something he was not yet used to, but he found the way Bell used it to be very comforting. Slowly, Bell pulled away her index finger, leaving behind an ample amount of Xan for him to practice circulating with.
"Try to move the Xan from your nexus to each of those points. Do it slowly, and one at a time. Remember the paths."
Arc didn't need any further explanation. Slowly, he began to concentrate that subtle warmth in his chest, and started to move it towards his lower abdomen. He found it much more difficult to control than what Bell displayed, and he knew he didn't even have a fraction of what she controlled in motion. Where she felt like she filled every path along the way, Arc found himself struggling to fill a single one. That was a difference of thousands of pathways, possibly more if he included the smaller ones.
After he got his ball of Xan to his core balance point, he noticed that it didn't try to disperse. He sent another ball of it into the point to see what would happen. It got a little harder to control, but as long as he didn't lose focus he found it wouldn't be much of an issue.
He moved one of those balls to his left leg, slowly moving it to his femur to see how it will react. He found it was similar to his core balance point. However he noticed it was a bit harder to store the Xan clump, but it was much easier than in one of the passages. He wasted no time and sent it towards his ankle, where he found it was once again more difficult than his power point but much easier than his pathways.
He started moving it back up towards his core balance point. By the time it reached his power point again he realized that it was a bit smaller than it was before. It looked like it had lost a tenth of its volume! How powerful was Bell to control so much so effortlessly and lose none of it?
After he returned it to the core point, he moved it back to his nexus. He took the other ball and repeated the process on his right leg, finding it very similar to his left.
Next he took a ball of energy directly from his nexus and moved it towards his right arm. Much like in his lower power points his upper power point reacted the same way. Moving them to his wrists also elicited a similar reaction, but he noticed that he lost less volume in his arms than his legs.
It was the circulation of Xan to his head that he found to be the most difficult. Unlike his other points that served to preserve his Xan, he found that it was trying to disperse his Xan. At the same time he noticed that his hearing and sense of touch multiplied by many times.
It was through this enhanced hearing that his concentrated by a loud and very unwelcome clap.
