"MIA!"
Along with a wide grin, Bailey stepped near to the young woman who was having conversation with some business men and women. "Bailey!" Mia smiled at the sight of her friend with her boyfriend, including Dean Silas as well. The two friends shared a tight hug in the public.
"Congrats, Mia. I really was shock when I witnessed the surprise" Bailey expressed her delight. "Awwn, I am glad to hear that" Mia smiled back and broke the embrace. Without even bothering, Bailey continued the chat with her friend.
Making the group departed from the place with quick steps in awkwardness. Bailey Joy just shoved them away from Mia so she could have some moments with her friend. "Congrats" Roman Silas smiled at the young woman.
Mia only nodded back. Not even shaking hands with him since she was not that friendly with him. "Umm, congratulations, Mia" Dean stepped forward. Extending his hand for a handshake with the young woman. "Thank you" Mia beamed.
Shaking her hands with the man's. The moment her hand glued to his hand, Dean's face flushed. 'It is so soft' he claimed in his mind. Liking the mushy skin of the young woman. "You look really pretty" Dean stated as Mia's brows rose. Her reaction made the man panic.
Causing him to change the words promptly. "I meant your branded dress!" He veiled the truth with lies as Roman Silas quietly laughed at his brother's panicking. While Bailey's cold gaze was on Dean Silas. Silently discovering the reason of this man's blushing ears and cheeks.
Mia chuckled in amusement.
"Thank you for your compliment. Also come to my store, there are discounts for you" she expressed gratitude. Taking her hand back from the grasp. "Discounts? I thought you would give me for free" Bailey spoke. Making the three laughed out loud in amusement.
"I am certain you would take a whole store with you if I ever gave you a chance" Mia retorted as Bailey rolled her eyes with a beam on her face. Dean quietly observed the young woman being friendly with her friend. "Mia.." A voice from behind broke in.
Capturing the four attention fully. Mia looked over her shoulder only to see Lorcan's face near her face. Her eyes widened in surprise when she realized their noses virtually touched. Making her stepped back instantly. Due to shock, she tripped on her heels.
"Ar!" She panicked. Hands rising into the air to grab something. Dean's hands moved automatically. Holding the young woman's arms tightly to prevent her from falling. At the same time, Lorcan's hands grasped the young woman's waist firmly.
While Bailey's hands hung in the air. These men were faster than her which upset Bailey a bit. Wanting to be the one who helped her friend. Mia blinked twice in perplexity. Her shout was not that loud. No wonder only a few noticed.
When Mia discerned the situation, she immediately strengthened her back and stood up. Clearing her throat in embarrassment. The two men took back their hands, awkwardly. Dean peered at the man with a little frown. But not uttering any word.
"What is it, Lorcan?"
Mia faced the man. Acting like nothing happened just now. "I would like you to stay in the hall room only" Lorcan stated. Puzzling the young woman entirely. Bailey scowled from the side when she heard the man's words. "Why?"
Mia questioned, cluelessly. "I am afraid someone might trick you to come outside and harm you" Lorcan disclosed. "But I have you" Mia responded. Stunning the man wholly. His brows rose in shock. Bailey and Dean observed the young woman in disbelief.
While Roman Silas only listened. "I mean you are hired to protect me. If I have you, there is nothing to concern about" Mia explained as soon as she noticed how her words sounded strange in others ears. Lorcan gasped quietly in understanding.
Calming his chaotic heart from panic. "You are accurate. But I have something to check on right now. So I won't be here for some minutes. Just for your safety, stay here. Shout my name if something ever happened, I will be right there"
Lorcan revealed the reason why. Mia fell into silence. Something was wrong for sure. She could feel it. "Lorcan, is everything alright?" she tilted her head. The man swallowed. Hesitating to disclose the fact that he just encountered George Seith.
Lorcan required to check everywhere and make sure George Seith leave the grand opening of the young woman. He did not want to ruin Mia's joy either. So he remained silent and would like to fix everything by himself from behind.
"Yes, nothing is wrong"
Lorcan answered, lying through his teeth. Mia did not utter any word for some seconds. Staring at the man's dull expression. No matter how much she tried to find, his face covered everything perfectly. Making her sighed tiredly at last.
"I see. Don't worry. I will be here" Mia promised. Relieving the man. "Then please excuse me" he left with quick steps. Disappearing from the hall room. "Is it just me or he is kinda suspicious?" Bailey voiced with a scowl. "I don't know" Mia shrugged.
"Anyway, stick with me. I can protect you" Bailey proudly said with head up as Mia chuckled. "Would you like to have some drinks?" Dean asked when he noticed the young woman being empty handed. "Oh yea, I shall be right back in a minute"
Mia excused herself but was stopped by Dean instantly. "I will go take one for you. Just wait here" he offered help while Bailey silently observed. This man, he had fallen for her friend obviously. Bailey found out easily by a peek.
"Nah, I will go" Mia stepped forward. Preventing the man who was offering help. "How about both of you go instead?" Roman Silas suggested when he could not watch the two fighting over who to get a drink anymore. Bailey nudged her boyfriend.
Slightly glaring at her man for pushing his brother with her friend. Roman Silas only smiled and looked down at his girlfriend. "Well, I don't mind with it though" Mia expressed as Dean beamed in delight. Leaving the place with the young woman to get a drink.
"I can see your intention" Bailey spoke to her boyfriend. Eyes flickering in annoyance. "What intention?" Roman shrugged. Acting clueless. "Intention of trying to be a matchmaker" Bailey rolled her eyes. Finding it disappointing. "I guess I was obvious"
Roman grinned like a cat who got caught. "I will slide this one off since Mia didn't complain. But don't ever do that. I will kill you if you ever made my friend uncomfortable" Bailey coldly said while Roman only smiled. Wrapping his arm around her waist.
"Alright, alright. I am sorry"
He apologized. Planting a gentle kiss on his girlfriend's forehead. While Bailey rolled her eyes. "I shall take strawberry cocktail" Mia stated as Dean grabbed a glass from the table. Passing it to the young woman. "Thank you!" Mia expressed gratitude.
Taking a sip of it as her eyes sparkled in joy. While Dean secretly noted down the young woman's like.It appeared he was collecting all the information about the young woman like a stalker but for good intention only.
"Sorry for instruction.." the woman's voice captured the two attention. Causing the young woman to turn around. "What's wrong?" Mia queried to the manager. "Someone requires to meet with you, Miss" the woman informed, cluelessly. "Who is it?"
Mia's brows pulled together in confusion. Wanting to know who the person was. "I have no clue, Miss. He said it's about the store" the manager reported. "He?" Dean's right brow rose. Earning a nod back from the woman. "Decline him. Tell him to come here instead"
Mia commanded. Remembering the promise she made to Lorcan. "I understand" the manager left the place. "Who could it be?" The young woman muttered out of curiosity. Brows pulled together in confusion. "Just stay with me. Don't go anywhere"
Dean's serious tone stunned Mia. Causing her to stare into his eyes with a smile on her face. "Cute" a word escaped Mia's lips. Making Dean's face flushed. His heart commenced to pound in panic. Did she just call him cute?! Mia couldn't stop admiring the man.
He actually represented the whole Henry look. The only difference between these two was reddened ears. Dean would avoid eye contact quickly while Henry was like man who would tease her in every existing way. Mia did not even realize she called the man cute only a thought of Henry.
"Oh you are wearing my gift!" Mia smiled. Looking down at the wrist of the man. "Ah yes" Dean scratch his back of head with reddened ears. Finally she noticed the watch he had been wearing. "You look great!" Mia gave a thumb up. Causing the man to stare at her with a grin displayed on his face.
"Thank you" he murmured.
Fidgeting on how to tell the young woman looked pretty tonight as well. "Please excuse me, I would like to go to restroom" Mia stated as Dean looked up in hurry. He nodded. Letting the young woman walk away.
He quietly stared at her walking in weird way as if something was hurting her feet. "Shit.." Mia cursed under her breath. Taking off the heels in the restroom only to discover a red spot on her heel. It hurt like hell. Making her unable to walk with shoes anymore.
"Ahh, what am I supposed to do now?" She furiously murmured. Fingers running through her hair in anger as her mind thought of a solution for the situation. "Mia.." a voice which the young woman loathed ran through her ears. Grabbing her attention fully.
She turned around only to find out her ex-husband standing at the entrance of restroom. "What the fuck.. what are you doing here?" Her brows wrinkled in surprise. George Seith looked like a psychopath in her sight. His dark circles and droopy eyelids were the main reason why.
Seemed like he messed up sleep schedule a lot. "Listen to me" George stated while the young woman shook her head in disapproval. "No. We have nothing to talk. Leave" She coldly responded and wore the heels quickly.
"No" he replied. Denying to leave from the place. "This fucking jerk.." Mia cursed under her breath. Letting an exhausted sigh out. "I will then" she retorted. Hand rose into the air as she gripped the purse to leave the place.
Walking past the man courageously. But a strong hand grasped her arm. Ceasing the young woman from stepping away from him. "You have to listen to me, Mia Grace. Because I am taking you as my wife again" George claimed.
