Chereads / Scarlet Kiss / Chapter 6 - 5

Chapter 6 - 5

"Come," he said, putting his arm around Jungkook's waist and guiding them back inside.

When he entered the room, V closed the door and his eyes landed on the stack of boxes and two large industrial-sized trash bags.

'Clothes? Underwear? Books? A freaking undie, please!'

"Go ahead," V said, pointing to the boxes.

Jungkook walked over, picked the box and headed to a pocket door to a walk-in closet that he hadn't noticed earlier. V flicked a light switch inside the door and carried the stack of boxes in.

The closet, if you could call it that, was huge, bigger than his bedroom at home, they have designed it for a fashion-forward-consumer. This room had racks, shelves, and drawers around the perimeter, it's filled with his clothes and more pairs of shoes than even the average fashion-conscious-new-gen-owner and in the centre sat a dressing table and a dressing room mirror.

"I'll make room for your things in here."

"Why would I keep my things in here?"

"Where else would you put them?"

The vampire rolled his eyes and yawned.

"Oh, I'm boring you? Really? You think I'm just going to unpack and move in here like I'm your… your…"

'I wasn't going to just glide into a role as someone sharing his room, his bed like he was his significant other or something.'

He was sure he wasn't significant in his world, being that he was below his food chain link and all.

V cut him off, "You're here now, get used to it. I ordered some more things for you... to make you feel more comfortable staying here."

Jungkook tried to ignore the edge, the intensity in his voice like he was daring him to do something about it, "I'll go next door, that would make me slightly more comfortable."

"I don't think so."

'Nope, no way was he unpacking.'

He pursed his lips and glared as the vampire piled the boxes in. unfolding the lid of the box that contained papers and books. He then shifted the other heavy box onto the floor and peered in. It contained his other bag and some other books. He then opened the trash bag and found his clothes. He also found his hairbrush and some rubber bands that could help with his now long mane.

Jungkook looked expectantly at the other and got the message, V backed out of the room and closed the door behind himself.

Jungkook found a pair of jeans, underwear and a black t-shirt with shoulder cut-outs.

'Wait... I forgot to ask why my hair grew out... Did he apply magic or add something in the drink from last night?'

He quickly got dressed as the thought built, thankful to have something to wear, especially underwear, but felt way underdressed as it was so odd to have his shabby belongings in such lavish surroundings.

He sat down at the dressing table and stared at his reflection.

Jungkook was a prisoner, as what V said was a 'mystery' and not his new boyfriend.

He was a person, and the other was a vampire, vampire royalty to be exact, whatever that meant.

This was all too much.

Jungkook glided his fingers through his hair and started loosening the knots, he was just an ordinary boy in his mid-20's. He didn't think he was beautiful or extraordinary. He was lithe, fit and toned build as he was a runner and was so busy trying to survive that he did not stuff his face with his favourite foods and that's probably why he was so trim.

He didn't wear designer brands or very much make-up, he was lucky enough to have decent skin, big doe eyes that he often got compliments on, and he had decent hair, if you think of wild and unruly in the morning ten yes, it's decent.

Jungkook certainly didn't think he'd win any beauty contests.

He was above-average in looks, the sarcasm as well in the stubbornness department, but that came because of his rough upbringing and need to be his champion in life because no one else ever championed any of his causes.

Jungkook didn't have the faintest idea of why his blood tasted so special to V.

He also didn't know why the gorgeous vampire who smelled divine with those intense eyes and those adorable smiles was so into him. He was sure if he were a regular guy he'd probably not even look twice, or if he did it'd be to get him into bed once and then he'd be gone.

If V were a normal 'guy' he'd have been top of the hot guy food chain and probably not paid much attention to some snarky doe-eyed man with a chip on his shoulder who worked in a diner by day and a dive bar at night.

Jungkook certainly didn't know why he didn't fall under his spell.

'Maybe that was all the allure was about, that he wasn't a drone. He was just a challenge to him, a diversion. Why did it feel like he was under at least part of a spell when he touched him, though? He insisted he wasn't... Was he? Maybe that was just because he hadn't touched in any sort of sexual way for such a long time."

His thoughts weren't helping, so he pushed them away, he's tired of how much time he'd spent in an angst-filled head in the past day and a half. It wasn't like him to wallow in messy or counter-productive emotions.

He was the boy who refused to succumb to the lemons life gave him, he'd always just kept soldiering on refusing to think about lemonade.

Numb sometimes, but always a soldier.

That's what Jungkook has to do, be strategic and figure out how to get out of this alive.

There was a quick rap on the door and V opened and slid the door open wide, "Breakfast is ready."

Jungkook rose from the dressing table and followed him out.

He had to think about that one and look for an opportunity to escape.

A day and a half since being brought to the vampire as a "gift" and he was already looking at his belongings in this shared closet. The vampire covered up his disappearance with his roommate and bosses, he'd also derailed his life.

After all this, he'll figure out how to get away somewhere else and start over.

Anywhere far away from V, far enough to forget about horny-psychotic-nympho vampires and dead ex-boyfriends.

'But maybe there wasn't enough of a far away for all of that... The past was done.'

Jungkook pushed dreary thoughts of his ex away, not wanting to get caught in the trap of thinking about him, or about the past. He stood and walked out of the enormous closet to see a table for two by the window, it was brought in while he was changing.

The aroma of food nudged at his stomach, which rumbled as he walked over, he saw bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, and a tall pitcher of orange juice.

'V fed on more than just blood.'

Another bit of vampire lore debunked.

Jungkook sat at the table across from V and ate voraciously and tried to not stare at the latter's bare chest and his sculpted arms and shoulders, he had always been a sucker for big strong shoulders.

V leaned in and whispered, "Have some more, firecracker."

Jungkook wanted to hurl the fine bone china plate at him, he wanted out. He ignored the tingling in his body at his voice and the endearment, he took a bite of toast and chewed slowly, staring out the window.

Staring but not seeing, just trying to avoid his gaze.

"You're very bossy," he spat at V, finally.

The vampire smirked and showed that boxy-grin again.

'Put away those smiles, they won't get you anywhere with me! Yeah right. Whenever he flashed the smirk, he fought the urge to swoon and land on the nearest fainting couch and there was no way he could just give himself over to this situation. Was he saying "Eat" to break the awkward silence that was so obvious?'

This was the longest they'd spent together while awake, not debating about the situation and not having sex so far.

Jungkook didn't feel like debating, he had a feeling it was moot with the vampire. He had the firm sense that he'd have to take those matters into his own hands.

He was full and couldn't do any more, so he shoved his plate back.

What he wanted right now, really wanted, was to go for a run.

Running always helped him clear his head but if he could run, he wouldn't have to be here, imprisoned.

"You should eat more than that," he said.

Jungkook glared, he snickered, looking highly amused, and that pissed him off.

He glared harder and then lifted the butter knife beside his plate and held it out in a tight fist,

"What I should do is stake your heart," Jungkook replied with a sneer.

The amusement drained from his face and his expression turned cold, "Don't be stupid," he said, and reached over and yanked the knife out of his hand.

Jungkook felt a pang of fear but had another stare down and he fought hard to hold his ground. It didn't take long for V's face to soften, for it to turn into a smirk.

Finally, the vampire stood and gathered everything into the tray, "I'll be back, I need to take care of some things. Watch TV or you can use my books," he motioned to a tall bookcase in the corner of the room, "And stay here!" He pointed at him threateningly.

Jungkook threw his arms up in the air and rolled his eyes, then he disappeared and it felt good to be alone. He could breathe easier without being scrutinized by those eyes.

After a few minutes of staring out the window, he got up from the table and crept to the computer first. There was no internet connection established and the only available network was password protected then he turned to the door.

'Had V locked him in?'

He didn't hear a lock turn when he'd left, he twisted the door handle slowly.

It opened, his heart lunged forward with a tight breath, he slipped into the hall as quietly as he could. The hallway was eerily quiet, he could feel his blood thudding through his veins.

Jungkook padded slowly down the hall, wishing he'd had the sense to look for shoes in his boxes before coming out here, something had thoroughly scattered his sensibility the past few days, thanks to V.

He didn't want to turn back now, he tiptoed down the long hall past the bedroom that he'd spent that first night in and as he got to the turn he was greeted with a closed iron gate, grabbed it and tested it - Locked.

Fvck.

Jungkook could see that it was a picket gate that must have been hidden yesterday.

He leaned his back against the wall and slowly slid to the floor beside the gate and balanced his elbows on his knees, putting his palms over his face.

V now stood on the other side of the gate, "Tsk, tsk, tsk."

Damn.

"I left the door unlocked after telling you to stay put, to see if my powers have any effect on you. Good thing this gate was up or I'd have to restrain you…" V paused, "But that could be fun, some tight leather harness to keep you out of trouble."

There was silence for a moment, he added, darkly, "And Jungkook, what if... you'd gotten out and it wasn't me who found you? There are hungry vampires about, they're not as nice as me."

Jungkook didn't answer, but he was grateful he wasn't behaving like the man who showed dominance to Jin, there were other monsters in this place, he then shuddered.

"You should probably know that you won't get away. It looks like I have a rather useful secret weapon."

V chuckled and then he heard him walk away, he wasn't sure what it meant.

Jungkook sat there for a long while, feeling sorry for himself, but then he decided he had to shake it off.

He'd told himself a long time ago that he would not accept the role of victim anymore.

After a few minutes, he got to his feet and wandered back down the hall, he opened the door to the bedroom where he'd been that first night.

It was dark and sat on the bed for a minute then he moved his things there, hoping that he would get the message that if he was determined to keep him here while he waited for those damned blood tests that he was totally serious about wanting to be left alone.

He opened the drawer of the nightstand and took out the bottle of lube, then strolled back to V's room and squirted the entire contents of the tube all over one of his pillows after he brought his things over to the other room.

Once he had all the boxes and the big garbage bags of clothes against the wall, he plopped on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

'There. That should send a message! Then he felt a stab of regret. Oh well, too late; regret was a useless emotion.'

Poking the monster with a stick by dousing his pillow in sex lube probably wasn't the smartest move.

Closing his eyes as he laid in bed, Jungkook could smell V's scent on this bed, on the pillows. They smell sweet, almost like a bouquet of lilies mixed with something else, something potently male.

'Was it his cologne or soap? Or maybe it was some weird vampire thing that made others swoon. Why couldn't he smell like a wet moss or something fouler like that?'

Jungkook threw the pillow across the room, feeling stupid after realizing that he was laying there sniffing the vampire's pillow.

After all, he was his captor, he may have elected himself his protector but when it all came down to it the vampire had him abducted.

Jungkook was a prisoner under lock and key and V kept him rather than let him leave.

V was more predator than protector, he just took what he wanted - be it sex or feeding his bloodlust.

"He needed protection alright — from V.'

Regardless of the outcome of the sex, he didn't consent to let the vampire guzzle his blood repeatedly, certainly didn't give the okay for him to almost killing him, he also didn't agree to a blood test.

The vampire took all rights from him, his repeated requests to leave were ignored, and he had gone out to convince his roommate and bosses.

'What had V said to them?'

He supposed it didn't matter what he had said.

No one was looking for him.

Sleep was all he wanted to do right now.

For months and months, he'd gotten by on a fraction of the normal sleep schedule his body craved per night with the occasional catch-up on a Sunday.

'Had it all built up to this extreme exhaustion? Or was he sleeping this much to distance himself from his stark reality?'

Jungkook couldn't run from his emotions, V trapped him in a room with them.

All he could do in response was sleep.
