"Meeting the king?!" Seraph almost leapt out of his chair.
Alena traced her fingers along her creased eyebrows "Calm down."
Seraph's childlike actions gave Alena a headache. She almost couldn't believe that the person she fought in the forest and the person in front of her now were the same person.
"Ah! Oh, sorry… " Seraph regained his composure, with a small little cough "... Continue."
"The king also does not wish to sell his daughter away to the duke. The only thing you need to do is show the king you are truly a force to be reckoned with." Alena rested her arm on the table and as she talked she rhythmically tapped the table.
"How do i… show him that I'm a." he raised his hands and air quoted " A force to be reckoned with."
Her hand stopped tapping as she looked at him, her face still emotionless, causing Seraph to jump back in his seat a bit "Stop acting li-," she sighed, "Even i don't know what the king has planned for you. Those were his words and the princess, not mine."
"However, from what i heard from the princess it's something that she believes you can handle." Alena looked to the side. Her hand continued her rhythmic tapping "Now, you can ask your questions."
"Where am I?" Seraph thought for a while before asking this question.
Alena just stared at Seraph, "Do you really have an ants brain?"
Seraph quickly shook his head "No, no. I meant like what do you call this world? This planet and all that…if that makes sense..." Seraph muttered toward the end.
"You heroes really do come from a different world… I didn't expect less. We don't have a set name for this 'world' no one has gotten enough power to decide it. However, the angel always says something about 'domains' when they speak of are place." Alena answered calmly.'
Seraph ears turned up like a dog, "Angel? You've met an angel before?"
"Yes, during the king's coronation the angel came and crowned king like always. Even if we don't worship god, we have to abide by their commandments." She shook her head absentmindedly as she spoke. "We don't like it but some things you have to abide by."
"Oh... " Seraph nodded, 'Are we talking about the same person?'
"Do you want to ask something else." Alena's voice was plain and not the least bit interested , leading Seraph to believe that she was asking out of principle rather than actually wondering.
"I'm fine…" Seraph nodded.
"That's that then." She kicked the chair behind her, then stood up. "Come on, i'm taking you back to the princess."
Seraph looked around the library and then looked back at her, before cautiously asking "Can i umm, take a few books?"
She paused, she had already made her way behind seraph. She thought for a moment, then nodded "There is nothing wrong with you choosing two books here... Go ahead, take a few books and then come to the entrance. I'll be waiting."
She walked off leaving seraph alone. Seraph looked around, a smile crawling on his face 'Let's see if i can replace my collection…'
Seraph searched the gigantic library, he could see a few others people sitting down as he looked around most noticeably as a young man and young woman, the pair looked like a couple, however, seraph didn't bother to pry in their business.
As he looked around, he realized that someone was watching him. He looked toward the couple and found them still absorbed in their book, his actions must of made whoever was watching him scared because as soon as he started looking around they stopped.
' I need to get a book and leave quickly... ' Seraph looked around and found an interesting book about this world's history, so he took that one and as he was on his scour for his second book he saw a young man stop him.
Their silver hair tied in a tight ponytail and they wore a very elegant medieval nobleman's outfit, with the frills and everything. Their eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at seraph's head "Who the hell are you fooling?"
"What?" Seraph took a step forward.
….
Alena had never really left seraph's side, she simply walked behind a bookshelf before covering herself in shadow magic. She then carefully observed seraph's actions, her original opinion of seraph when they fought was that he must be a very strong and proud warrior… However, after talking to him for an hour.
She quickly realized that this wasn't true, he was meek and he constantly flinched. She couldn't help but to feel disappointed slightly, this person couldn't save the princess at all. 'He really is weak… Did I beat him too hard last time? Maybe that's why…'
She suddenly stopped, she stood completely still… Seraph was looking at a book originally then he suddenly swiped his head to the side and stared at a couple then his eyes continued to trail. It locked on to her, she felt her heart pounding… the look in his eyes was like a predators it was cold.
'Was he acting?!' She kicked the ground and disappeared behind a couple of book shelves. She distanced herself from seraph and watched him from afar now 'That presence just now, was he really just acting last time?'
She peered from behind the corner to see the usual aloof seraph, picking up a book joyfully before tucking it under his armpit and walking away.
Her ears peaked up, she turned the corner and found seraph actually talking to someone. However, instead of backing down he walked forward causing the person to step back, her eyes widened slightly as she realized who he was talking to… Grail Quinn
'He can actually talk to Grail Quinn like that?'
"Did you not hear me? I said who the hell are you fooling? Why is a wood elf like you walking around with that kind of hair style, undye it now!" Grail Quinn, took an offensive step forward.
Seraph thought for a moment, "Your right, I'm sorry… I shouldn't have dyed my hair like this today. It was a mistake."
Seraph's hair was long enough to cover his ear, so he didn't blame this person for thinking that he was just an elf with black hair.
Grail smiled, "If you know what you've done is wrong then you should kneel down properly and apologize."
Seraph looked at him, then knelt down. He understood their feeling perfectly, 'If someone dressed up as my worst enemy as a joke, I would be angry as well.
"I'm sorry." Seraph then began to stand up, when he saw grail's foot rapidly approach his head. Seraph suddenly reeled back dodging the kick to his head by mere inches, then he shakily stood up regaining his balance as he took a few steps back.
"That should be enough." Seraph eyes grew cold, "I understand your mad, but you shouldn't lower yourself like this."
"What the hell did you ju-" Seraph cut him off.
"I apologized, that should be enough." Seraph spoke with an unusual calmness, he felt rage climb up his back he desperately wanted to senselessly pound this bastard into the dirt. However, the system was holding him back with a tight leash… allowing him to think clearly.
Alena watching all of this felt an eerie coolness come over her, 'What the hell is this feeling?'
She was sure that Grail felt this coolness too, even more sure when Grail, the hundreth strongest within the warriors academy, took a step back with a slight hint of fear travelling up his face. He steeled his will and then stomped, "You dare threaten me?!"
Seraph's face slightly crumpled, he felt his rage coming forward even more… He muttered "Bastard is so much similar to charlie…"
Grail shouted "What the hell did you just say?"
Seraph said nothing and just stared, 'He needs to make the first move. I know what pisses off people like you the most.'
Seraph pivoted on his feet as he reached up and grabbed another book. He felt grail break, his anger unleashed. Grail shot forward, with his fist reeled back.
Seraph took a step to the side then suddenly slammed his outstretched hand down onto grail's face.
*Pa*
The sound of the slap echoed across the silent library, grail tilted down dazed. Seraph hand reached down and grabbed grail by the neck lifting him up, then quickly twisting to slam him down face first into the hard floor of the library.
"That should be enough brain damage." Seraph felt dopamine fill his head, "That was a nice relief." he sighed out.
Then he looked at the book that he was fake reaching for, "That book really is nice." he reached up and grabbed it "I really wish i didn't have to grab only two books… but two books is good enough."
Alena in the shadows was shook, 'Interesting…'
