Lena
Our final mission is to track down all the experiments ever created. The second part of the mission is to get them to safety and figure out where this Alien source resided and find a way to stop them if we could. An easy task? No way in hell. The experiments while some were children of senators like me and Aimee, most were volatile hostile people. The Resistance was after all a mercenary institution
"Who the hell thought it would be a brilliant idea to build a human-machine gun?!" Westley shouted from behind our makeshift barricade. "It clearly seemed like a good idea at the time," Emily shouted back. "Lena do something!" Aimee said whacking me with her Bo staff. I whacked her back infuriated. "Me!" I shouted back. "Why don't you do something, Aimee! You always have a way with psychotic men!" I said.
"I DO NOT," Aimee shouted.
"YES, YOU DO!" Both Emily and I shouted, back. Aimee scowled. But put her Bo staff down and pulled out two short swords. She raised one of the swords to eye level, moving it slightly so she could see Mikhael the human-machine gun reflected on the sword. She threw the other sword in the air and closed her eyes. "Aimee, maim. Don't kill." I said. "We all heard Mikhael make a pained grunt and the bullets thankfully paused. We all stood up looking at Mikhael who pulled out the short sword from his shoulder. He held it in his hand furiously. "Ow." He said glaring at Aimee. Who raised her eyebrow in response. "You seriously need to work on your Anger Management skills," Aimee said. I rubbed my forehead, leave it to Aimee to further infuriate a human-machine gun. Much to our surprise, Mikhael burst into laughter before he launched the sword back at Aimee who raised her hand stopping the sword from injuring her.
Mikhael scowled. "What do you bitches want." He said. "General Kane betrayed us. He's been acting as the Director in their military installation." I said, gesturing at Westley and James. "He put some serum inside me hoping that either the military or my own people would kill me," I said. Mikhael rolled his eyes. "Clearly he's never spent a day with the three of you." He said yanking at a circular band in his arm. The gun powered down and his left hand returned, he shook himself once and pulled his brown overcoat straighter. "I could use a drink." He said walking off. This time I scowled glancing at Emily. "This is Mexico City all over again," Emily said following Mikhael. "Your kidding, right?" James said. "He just tried to kill us!" He said. "Welcome to our life," Aimee said following after them. I twisted my mouth slightly before I shrugged and followed after them.
"Creatures of another planet. Alien invasion. Those words don't even sound good in a sentence." Mikhael said taking a big gulp of his drink. "When did our lives become a sci-fi film?" James asked from behind us. "Probably when Selene showed up alive," Westley said. "Oh right."
"We need to figure out what to do from here. Mikhael you were one of their top mercenaries. Did you really not know anything?" Aimee asked. "I was an enforcer. I wasn't privy to their more important secrets." Mikhael said frowning. "That's great," I said my eyes narrowed.
Mikhael smirked. "I can however think of someone who might've known all along." He said with a smirk. "Where is your leader, Elliot?" he asked. I scowled. "There was an incident, the Elliot you once knew is no more," I said taking a sip of my scotch. It burned as it went down my throat just like the memory of the Elliot I had once known. "I doubt the Scientist would've let his brash son in on this particular secret," Emily said.
"And the Scientist?" Mikhael asked. "We don't know. The compound was attacked." Aimee said crossing her arms, glancing at Westley. "If it hadn't been for these two we may not have made it out." She said, I glanced at Westley surprised to see a slight flush fill his cheeks. "So he might be dead as well or captured?" Mikhael said scratching his goatee.
"Not captured," Westley said. "I've been keeping up with the briefings. They haven't found either one of them." He said. Mikhael and Aimee both raised their eyebrows, I rolled my eyes knowing immediately what Aimee was about to ask. "No Aim. We are not going after Elliot. He's psychotic, even more so with the serum." I said putting my drink down. "That's exactly why we should," Emily said, making my jaw drop and tense all over. "Excuse me?" I said my eyes wide. "Emily you're the last one I would've expected to want to go after Elliot," Aimee said. "Which is exactly why I should go. Both of you have too much history with him, plus both of you will only spike his temper. He and I have always been cool." Emily said.
"She's not wrong. Platonic people tend to be easier to deal with when the serum is making you crazy. Also, when did Elliot get the serum in his system?" Mikhael asked the barest hint of laughter in his voice. "That's the incident we mentioned earlier," Aimee said. "It was my fault," I said with a sigh. "I tried to save his life."
"Yes I can see how that would be a mistake," Mikhael said thoughtfully, like Emily, Aimee and I all turned to glare at Mikhael. "Oh please. That man is a tool." He said scowling. "A tool or not, he didn't deserve to die," I said. I watched as Mikhael turned to look at Emily thoughtfully. I did not like the turn this conversation was going. "How are you even going to find Elliot?" he asked.
"London."
"Ethan and Elise? That's your big idea?" I said surprised. "Who are Elise and Ethan?" James asked. "Telepaths. They excommunicated themselves from the Resistance a long time ago." Aimee said. "What makes you think they are going to help?" I asked. "Who do you think helped them disappear?" Emily asked raising an eyebrow. "Clearly they didn't disappear if you knew immediately who Emily meant when she said London." Westley pointed out. I scowled. "London is one of the safe cities. I had a run-in with them when we were on a mission. I never would've ratted them out. They were one of us." I said. Not mentioning that the twins had figured out really quickly that the real reason I had gone to London was to visit my sister and mother who had taken refuge there after my supposed death.
"Regardless, I always knew you had something to do with their seamless disappearance. I have never been more proud of you than I am in this moment." Aimee said smiling from ear to ear.
"Emily can't just go to London by herself," I said worriedly. "I can get her there," Mikhael said. "And when she contacts Elise and Ethan I can make some inquiries of my own. There are some former mercs that might lead back to the Scientist. If we find him, we might get some proper answers." Mikhael said. "Where does that leave us?" Westley said. "We need firepower," Aimee said looking at me. I scowled. "Lucy," I said shaking my head as I thought of the petite violet-eyed mind reader. "You want to get to Lucy don't you?" I asked.
Lucy had been in our original training class and had fought with us for a long time, prior to being sent overseas. "Guess we're getting the old team back together," I said.
"Where's Lucy?"
"Egypt."

London was beautiful. Rainy and foggy sure, but I think that was part of its beauty. That the fact that London was one of the few safe zones in the world. Free from the control of the military, and of resistance fighters. This city stood apart from the agony of war. And hopefully, ire would be free from an Alien incursion which seems to be where we were heading. I'd been reeling with the news. Aliens. Alien blood had apparently been running through our systems. It didn't feel real. Heck, it felt too absurd to be real. But I guess it made more sense that we had alien blood than a synthetic serum that gave us magical and extraordinary gifts. I wonder what my parents would think of their wayward child with these magical gifts. If my parents were even still alive.
I'm not entirely sure where Mikhael went. I'm hoping he doesn't accidentally get himself killed searching for the scientist. after everything we told him about what went down the night we all left the resistance Amy claims that she saw Lena and Elliot fighting at some point of that night Mikhail is more determined than ever that the scientist would not have gone without Elliott I took a breast taking a corner and making my way to Trafalgar Square detail of the carvings but you never had to deal with aliens I muttered. "Aliens," a voice behind me said. I turned around to see Ethan looking slightly amused by my reaction. "You startled me," I said.
"I can see that," Ethan said a full-out smile breaking his morose face. "It's good to see you," he said putting out a single arm. Ethan was one of the few people I ever told about how a man attacking me had felt. I put my arms around him and Ethan hugged me tightly in response.
"I missed you," I said taking a step back and looking at his bright blue eyes that contrasted with his pale, pale hair. "Where is your better half?" Ethan said his eyes searching the square. I hooked my fingers into the loops of my jeans, sighing. "I'm flying solo on this one as I said in my message." Ethan and his sister were unbelievably paranoid. Which is why they had made sure to always have a way to contact me. "She's alone." I looked up startled to see Ethan's twin Elise perched cross-legged on the lion. "Hello, Elise," I said raising an eyebrow at her. "Hello Emily still think we're paranoid?" she said winking at me. I stifled a laugh. "I don't think you would have guessed aliens," I said pointedly. "Emily are you sure you want to go after Elliot?" Elise asked.
"I want to find him before he causes anyone else any trouble. Are you sure you both want to help you left a resistance for a reason." I said. "Lena was already attacked, if they are trying to systematically take us out we need to stick together. We might have started out as the Scientist's experiments but we became something he never would have imagined." Elise said.
"We are family." Ethan said. "and apparently that includes the psychotic Elliott." he said with a sigh. Elise jumped down from the Lion with a scowl grasping Ethan's hands. "shut up and concentrate." She said. I watched transfixed as they both closed their eyes. I'd watched them use their powers before but I was still intrigued. The gifts that came from the alien blood were really extraordinary. Each experiment was different, those that had been the first initial experiments like Lena possessed brutal strength and mastery of weapons. The second generation of experiments like me and Aimee had latent psychic abilities. The third Branch of experiments had highly Superior gifts like manipulating Minds, lifting things, and control over animals. Ethan and Elise left the resistance because their powers made them highly sensitive to conflict. Places like London gave them peace. "Emily, we found him," Elise said her eyes opening a bright silver light in her eyes fading back to Violet. "We found him," Ethan said testily, glaring at his sister. "And where might he be," I asked.
"Northampton."

Lena
Egypt was hot while also being windy. Sand flew in our faces and within minutes we were soaked to the skin. The place Lucy lived in wasn't much but a bunch of huge tents. I entered one and immediately came face-to-face with the tallest man I've ever seen in my life. He was slightly tanned his skin the color of caramel, his eyes dark Greystone. He crossed his arms as he looked down at me. His broad chest huge and looking hard enough to take on a Mack truck. He stared me down glancing once behind me as James, Westley, and Aimee followed me inside.
"Lena?" I glanced behind him grateful to see the short pixie form of Lucy coming up beside him. "What are you doing in Egypt?" she asked her eyes wide. "We need to talk," I said glancing once more at the mountain of a man that stood in front of me. The man raised his eyebrows before turning slightly to look at Lucy. Who sniggered in response. "Lena's harmless," she said slapping him in his back and making me scowl. Which made her smile even wider.
"Come on, enter my safe haven. Lucy said with a sneer. I bit my lip glancing at Aimee who grimaced in response. Lucy had been orphaned and was in fact the youngest of us all. Back when we had all trained and lived in the compound together Emily, Aimee, Lucy and I had always talked about a safe haven. A place where we would be safe, secure, and loved. I took a deep breath and told my story to Lucy, who was extremely Lucy about it.
"You actually left the Resistance. You?" she said for about the third time. "Yes me, you annoying midget," I said my eyes narrowed. "I was attacked! Me, Aimee, and these two gentlemen have been going and tracking down other experiments. If they went after me, they will definitely be going after us all, and trust me you don't want to get tranked with their rage juice." I explained Lucy's eyebrows raising in response before she let out a slight giggle. "This is not funny. Kane said that they used blood from a species on another planet. They put alien blood in us." I said trying to make Lucy understand. "If they tortured us, what do you think those aliens went through?" I said. "We need to find them at some point," Aimee said from behind me. Lucy turned to look at her sharply. "To do what exactly?" Lucy asked her voice hard. "To protect them. They didn't choose this. Like us, they were probably taken from their homes and forced to do the bidding with no choice or say in the matter." Aimee said. "And if they are taking their blood they are most likely murdering them for their own gain. They may have no one else to help them but for us." She said. "I like these people." We all turned around surprised to see Thane once again hovering over us. Aimee and I stood facing him standing in front of the boys slightly. I don't know when it became an instinct to protect the boys but somehow, somewhere they became a part of our team. Our extended family. Lucy covered her lips slightly a smile forming. "Aimee, Lena. This is one of the aliens you wanted to protect." Lucy said dropping her hand and moving to stand beside Thane. We all turned and looked at Thane properly this time. "Are all aliens as tall as he is?" Aimee said in a stage whispered making me groan inwardly. Lucy and Thane both laughed. "I am tall. But others aren't," he said.
Westley and James moved closer looking up at Thane. I looked warily at James, my hands itching to pull him away and immediately feeling guilty for feeling that way. I had no claim on him, he wasn't mine. He was a soldier. He knew what he was doing. "Is your biochemistry similar to humans or are you using some type of device to look similar to humans?" James asked curiously. I put a hand to my head in aggravation. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he had no idea what he was doing. "You watch too many sci-fi shows," Thane said dryly. "But yes we do share a similar biochemistry with humans," Thane said glancing once at Lucy, Aimee, and me. "Although there are some differences." "You mean the powers the experiments have?" Aimee asked.
"Yes and no," Thane said with a sigh. He glanced at Lucy. "It's okay. Lena and Aimee are friends. And they don't trust easily. If they trust these military boys, there's a good reason for it." Lucy said. James and Westley glanced at Aimee and me before looking at each other but didn't say anything. "You might as well sit down. This is quite a story." Thane said.
"And Thane is quite a storyteller."
