Chapter 7 - Aftermath

Aimee

"So basically what your saying is that you made Balthazar sing like a canary," Lucy said over a steaming cup of coffee. "Zar and I have a long history. I owed him some hell after he was the one who took me away from my family. Apparently from word of my brother." I said anger flaring within me making me tense. "Westley told me. I'm sorry." Lucy said softly. I crossed my arms. "Don't be. He's going to be sorry. I'm going to make sure they are all sorry." I said. And I meant it. They would pay if it was the last thing I ever did. "Not without us, you won't," Emily said as she walked into the kitchen, Elliot walking behind her smirking over her head. "Oh my god, Emily!" I said breathlessly. I surprised her by grabbing her in a hug as Elliot snuck by us, ruffling Lucy's hair moving away as she swatted at him and pouring himself a cup of coffee.

"You didn't think we'd let you have all the fun did you?" Emily said. I glanced at her and looked at Elliot. "How on god's green planet did you get Elliot to come with you?" I asked turning to look at Elliot, crossing my arms and cocking my hip. "Last time I saw you, you were crazily attacking Lena." I pointed out.

Elliot shrugged. "I found Zen the last time we met." He said. "Oh was that the brand of beer you were drinking when I found you?" Emily asked. Elliot narrowed his eyes at her. Before she could comment Westley came in freezing slightly when he saw Elliot. "I thought he was a psychopath?" Westley asked, way calmer than I thought he was capable of. "Aren't we all Psychopaths?" Elliot asked. Westley sighed. "You are all very calm seeing as our friends are off-planet.

"OFF PLANET?!" They asked together.

"Lena's group accidentally set off the spaceship Kane had been hiding. The ship is no longer on earth along with Lena, James, and a couple of Lucy's alien friends." Westley explained. "Wait, Lucy's alien friends?" Emily asked sitting at the table and looking at Lucy with surprise. "You may have missed a lot," Lucy murmured.

"Your missing quite a conversation," Ethan said. "It was your idea to rejoin this fight," I said opening one of my eyes to glare at my twin. It was always hard to focus when we surrounded ourselves with new people. Ethan had always been less sensitive than me. He was able to breathe and live in a way I could not. I had to focus desperately, just to keep my thoughts separate from the others.

"What am I missing?" I asked finally annoyed by Ethan's loud silence. I was so used to his stream of chatter that anytime he kept, silent, the lack of noise was overbearing on my consciousness. "Aliens, spaceships that apparently left with Lena and Lucy's alien friends. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?" Ethan said. "We left so many years ago because we didn't believe what we heard in our minds. But apparently, we had heard correctly. Kane is an alien. And there's more of him. Some are good and on our side but there are so many more that are not." Ethan said. I opened my eyes. "Alien invasion." Even uttering the words out loud didn't make it seem real. I narrowed my eyes. "We need Aimee. I think I have an idea on how to talk to Lena." I said. "Long-distance face-time call?" Ethan said shrewdly.

"Something like that."

It turns out that Zia hadn't accidentally taken us off-planet. Apparently, the remaining Omega's had decided to bring their people back by force and redirected the spaceship back to Saytara. We learned this from Achala an Omega living in Saytara. And she wasn't the only one Saytara was full of Omega's and a handful of Alpha's who had refused to leave their homeland. Akash was one of the Alpha's we had spoken to. He wasn't exactly fond of Kane and was not surprised in the least that Kane had given Omega's to be an experiment on by humans.

"There are many Alpha's who left with Kane but that was decades ago. Are you really telling me that it's taken you humans so long to figure out that you are being invaded?" Akash said in a derisive tone. I was extremely close to punching him in his perfect high-cheeked face.

"Right, because you chose decades later to bring the rest of the Omega's home?" Rion asked. Akash scowled. "What changed?" James asked. We were in a medical lab. And the Omega's were being screened by James and a few other doctor Omega's who were helping the newly awaken Omega's assimilate to what was going on.

"Just because we chose not to go to Earth doesn't mean we didn't have our own ways to see them going on's of Earth," Akash said. "In the many decades that Kane and the other Alpha's have been on earth, many, many Alpha's died. Some from natural causes and others due to Kane's selfish greed. Kane is cancer. He destroys everything he touches. Many Alpha's died in schemes to grab power from the humans. The Alpha's that remained on Saytara found a way to work with Omega's. We are no longer on two warring sides but are now one complete faction." Akash said.

"I hate admitting that he's right. But he is." Achala said. "But Saytara is still dying," Jeremiah said. "Regardless of what peace you may have found, the planet itself is still dying. It's a miracle that it's lived for so long." He said. "We've found different methods of keeping the planet itself alive," Akash said.

"But nothing we've found is a permanent solution." Achala pointed out. "Emily's database might be able to narrow down the search," I said, I was thinking about how we found a solution for the serum, that was actually Alien blood. "There's always another way," I said. "Except, for one thing. Emily's system is on another planet. We have no way to contact her." James said.

"It's funny that you mention contact." I whipped around surprised to see Aimee suddenly in front of me. "How?" I asked.

"Elise," Aimee said simply. "What's this?" Akash said with surprise. "Astral projection. You need to be powerful with mental abilities to be able to control it." Achala said looking at Akash. "Never mind that," I said. "Did you make contact with Lucy?" I asked. "Yeah. And Emily and Elliot are here as well." Aimee said.

I grinned. "That's good news. Do you think she could find a way to contact us? Maybe via the spaceship?" I asked. "Not the spaceship. Did they find more Aliens? Omegas?" Jeremiah asked, adding Omega's after Akash glared at him for using the word Aliens. "Yeah? Why?" Aimee said narrowing her eyes. "Find an Alien named Micah. He's an empath. He specializes in astral projection. He could easily send messages back and forth." Jeremiah said. "I will," Aimee said as she winked out of existence. "Astral projection takes its toll. It's easier when the person projects to a blood relative." Jeremiah explained. "Micah has a relative here?" I asked. "Micah is my twin brother." Caleb one of the Omega's that had recently awoken said. He glared at Jeremiah who grinned back at him. "Thought I didn't recognize you didn't you?"

Director Kane

"Losing first Balthazar and then a spaceship full of Omega's aren't a coincidence. It's an act of war. And with war, we need warriors to lead. Are you ready for the next step? Because I assure you, the experiments are indeed ready." I said watching as The President steepled his hands and his face hardened. "Arrange a press conference. We need to let the public aware of the situation." He said. "As you wish," I said with a smile. Everything was going according to plan.

On August thirtieth, on every screen, President Ashdowne who took office shortly after his own daughter was taken by the Resistance, was gunned down in front of everyone by Kane's military. Kane went on record to explain.

"It is with my utmost pleasure that I get to inform you that the Resistance has never existed. The scientists and mercenaries followed my orders. The military had been trying to fight an Alien invasion. THEY FAILED. The earth belongs to the Alphas of Saytara. This planet now belongs to us. And there's nothing you can do to stop it. We are everywhere. We have already taken control. Don't try to stop what is pointless."

And with a smile, every screen in the world turned black and chaos reigned.
