Chapter 57 - You have demonic energy

"Young master, the refreshments are ready to be served," Garrin said to my brother.

"Everyone, let's have a break and have some refreshments."

Finally, something to eat.

Indeed, time moved so fast if you're talking. By the way, Shemer is taking his time in fixing the wards. I still have to ask him if he could check the situation about the Warping Scurvy.

"Have any of you read the paper this morning?" Lexine asks.

"Yes, is it about the disease that infects children?" Olek replied.

"Alik, do you have any information about where the disease has started?" Aleksio appeared to be very concerned about this issue.

"I just know that the disease may have been from the market. And it looks like some adventurers have already started showing severe symptoms. Especially those who just came back from the monster subjugation inside Linwall Forest which is located on the Eroded Hillside."

Alik's expression remains the same as she speaks.

As I saw earlier, it seems only Lucas can be the reason for her expression to change.

"From the market? Anael, can you search if someone is selling that is not registered by the merchants' guild?" Aleksio commanded.

"I understand."

"Aleksio can I ask why would you check those who are not registered by the merchants' guild?" Alessia curiously asks.

"Because registered merchants have to let the inspection team from the Ministry of Health check if the products that they have to put on the market can be harmful to the citizens."

"Wow, merchants have to follow those things before they are allowed to sell something?" Alessia replied.

"Yes, and I thought you know that, Alessia? Your family has been selling inscriptions and you also sell sometimes." Lexus assumed.

"I do not know. I just give my inscriptions to my mother and she is the one that puts them in our shop. Wait-, does this mean everyone knew about this process?" She inquired while scratching her head as she looked at everyone's reaction.

Everybody nodded their head including me. I have been reading a lot about how to operate a business in the empire and Zero is supplementing with all the required information.

"Of course everyone knows. As we are the heirs of our families, we have to know this process because it is the only way we could conduct our businesses." Anael answered.

"Hahaha! You know me guys, I focus on inscriptions right now." She voices out as she laughed.

"Inscriptions freak," Olek whispered.

"What was that Olek? Did you say something?"

Alessia said as she looked at Olek with a sly expression.

"N-nothing! I was just telling Lexus about the gossip lately." Olek utters nervously.

"Oh! I thought I heard something about the f-word. You know what will I do to you if I heard you say something like that. Right?" She smiled threateningly at him.

Olek immediately went pale when he heard Alessia's words. Is this a recurring event? It seems like Olek has a trauma. I turned to Lexine that was smiling and touch her hands.

"Are you curious about what she did to Olek to have him react like that?" She asked.

"Yes."

"You see, it was the time when we first met each other. Alessia was already known for being the next heir of the Claramond's. There was a rumor about how she was very obsessed with writing inscriptions.

Olek, being Olek, teased Alessia and called her an inscription freak. So Alessia, to get back at Olek, tricked him into riding the boat that she inscribed with to bring him in the middle of the lake."

"Then what else did she do?" I inquired.

"No one realizes that Olek was missing until he returned to the hall with drench body and without wearing his pants." She recounted.

"Wow! What did she inscribe on the boat?"

"She inscribed that the boat would stick unto Olek's pants and while struggling to stand up the boat turned over and he fell on the water, then he forced himself to pull his pants resulting in ripping it apart."

"Wow, so brutal!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, when we saw him, we laughed so hard. He looks like a shivering chick that was lost. That's why until today he still has trauma and he knew that Alessia can be very brutal on her revenge."

"Hahaha!"

"Stop it, the two of you are arguing in front of a kid. Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?" Sanyi reprimanded the two of them and they immediately stop arguing.

I suddenly remembered the notifications I heard when I saw them earlier. I then open the interface and saw the result.

[7/5] Soothing the chairman's sense of sight.

It seems like the guide for the sense of sight applies to both boys and girls. Well, I can definitely tell that each in every one of them will grow up with very handsome and beautiful faces.

As we continue to eat, Shemer suddenly showed up and put his hand on Anael's neck. I was so shocked and immediately shouted,

"Shemer, what are you doing?"

"Shemer?" Lexine burst out.

"Put down your hand," I commanded

His eyes look like he would surely kill Anael. It seems like he did not hear me and said to Anael,

"You have demonic energy in your body. Who are you?"

"Wait- what demonic energy? I don't understand what you're saying." Anael nervously said.

"Shemer, look at me." He slowly turned his head and look directly into my eyes.

"Calm down first and explain to me what do you mean by demonic energy?" I commanded.

"Master, when I was fixing your wards I faintly felt demonic energy. That's why immediately went to find where are the source and I located it here inside this lowly human."

"Wait a minute, how come brother Anael has demonic energy? Where did he get it?" I asked.

Anael was so stunned by Shemer's actions that he was not able to move from his seat. Shemer turned to him and questioned,

"Hey human, did you recently eat a monster meat?"

"Y-y-yes. Before I came here, my lunch was roasted White-Bellied Ox." Anael timidly answered.

"Master, I think this human may have eaten infected meat. So can I kill him now?" He said and moved his hand closer to Anael's neck.

"Shemer, stop joking and come here," I said, while sighing.

"Ok." He replied and immediately went beside me.

After seeing Shemer's reaction, everybody sighed deeply. I could feel everyone's tension as soon as Shemer threatened Anael.

Even the surrounding knights were so tensed by the situation. What would have happened if Shemer immediately killed Anael?
