It's so dark and empty.
"Really creepy. I feel like I have been walking forever and yet there is still no sign of the exit. Where am I." Emilia wondered as she continued to wander in the empty darkness.
She had been walking for so long yet she still could not see the end of it . Emilia continued to walk forward trying to find an exit somewhere. That was all she could do because she couldn't think of anything else in this endless darkness. Strangely enough Emilia didn't realize that all that was in her mind was to continue walking, nothing else.
She wasn't even curious enough to find out how she had gotten here or where her family was and if they knew that she had disappeared. All that was in her mind was to continue walking. That was all her mind could process.
Emilia continued walking for what felt like hours and yet she still was not tired . After walking for quite some time Emilia finally saw a light. It was small but it was there.
Finally seeing a way out of the darkness Emilia began sprinting towards the light and as she got closer the light got brighter and bigger. So big that it covered the entire expanse in front of her when she finally reached it.
Emilia slowed down once she was in front of the wall of light. She slowly reached her hand out and touched the light, feeling the warm it brought Emilia's body relaxed on its own. She slowed moved forward and slowly her entire body was engulfed by the light.
After what felt like a minute Emilia heard some sounds of leaves rustling and birds chirping. Opening her eyes once she had exited the light , Emilia was horrified when she gazed upon the familiar site of the lake.
Quickly standing up Emilia turned around on the spot and observed her surroundings. Everything she saw horrified her , the same beautiful variety of trees, same mountain range, same land expanse and worst of all that very same lake. Emilia wanted nothing else but to leave this place but before she could even do anything her body began moving towards the lake on its own.
Emilia was mortified as she realised that she couldn't control her own body and all she could do was watch helplessly as her body walked straight into the beautiful lake water. Emilia desperately struggled to gain control but it was all in vain, she couldn't even make a sound as she was engulfed by the water.
"Nooo!" Emilia screamed as she sat up on the bed clutching her chest as she gasped for air. Hah hah haf Emilia continued taking deep breaths trying to calm herself.
"Emilia!,Lia are you ok? What's wrong?" Ling Xiao's anxious voice sounded by her ear.
"Emilia are you ok?" Ling Xiao asked as he lightly patted her back trying to calm her down. After recollecting herself Emilia looked up at her alarmed husband and smiled at him to reassure him.
" Don't worry I just had a nightmare thats all ." Ling Xiao looked at Emilia for a few seconds and after confirming that she was ok Ling Xiao relaxed and pulled her into his arms.
"That's good " Ling Xiao said more to himself than to her. "Just remember that I'm always here beside you so you don't need to fear anything. Even a dream. You just need to think about it and I'm sure I'll appear in your dream to save you. Your husband is very powerful don't you know.Ling Xiao said seriously as he kissed her hair. He said this to her to make sure that she knew she could rely on him and share all her troubles with him. He was afraid that something was bothering her since dreams were the manifestation of your thoughts, and since she had a nightmare then he can only think the worst. Hopefully he was just over thinking.
"Mhm"Emilia hummed as she snuggled into Ling Xiao's arms . "My husband is very powerful indeed." She said relaxing into him, forgetting the very reason she was frezzled. Something about him just made her feel safe and warm and she liked it very much.
The two stayed quietly in each other's arms for a few minutes ready to drift off back to sleep before the alarm next to the bed went off.
"Aghhh!" Emilia groaned upset. "Why is it morning already I feel like I just got into bed. I don't wanna wake up yet."She whined. Ling Xiao looked at her whining self and couldn't help but smile. She looked so adorable.
Looking up at the clock and seeing that it was still five in the morning Ling Xiao said to her "You don't have to get up yet you can continue sleeping you know."
"Ya but I have work so I can't go back to sleep" she complained as she rolled around burying her head in the pillow.
"Well it's still five and work starts at eight so I think you can sleep a little more. You can skip going out for a run today. One day won't hurt." Ling Xiao said after he decided to let her off for today. Even though it is important to be fit and in shape for when the apocalypse began, they also needed to enjoy the moment and relax because once the end comes relaxing will be a luxury. In a few weeks time sleeping in will be a luxury so he should let her enjoy it now while they still have the chance.
"Ya but I still have to..." Emilia started but she didn't get to finish before Ling Xiao cut her off .
"You continue to sleep and I'll go make breakfast and wake up qinqin to get ready for school. I'll come wake you up when it's time to get ready" Ling Xiao said.
"You sure?" Emilia looked up at her husband as she waited for an answer.
"Yes I'm sure. I used to stay alone before so I made my own meals. I've already mastered cooking a few dishes so you don't have to worry about my cooking sending you to the hospital ok. You just sleep here and let your almighty husband pamper you a bit."He said.
"Alright then."Emilia chuckled before she snuggled back into the blankets. Ling Xiao got up fixed the blankets and tucked her in before giving her a light kiss and then leaving to wake up little Qin .
Ling Xiao walked to the room opposite theirs and got in. Instead of waking up Ling Qin he just stood there and looked at him.
"Stop pretending to sleep. Get up already,I know your awake." Ling Xiao said.
The room was still silent for another minute before Ling Qin slowly turned around with a goofy smile on his face.
"Good morning Dad"
"Morning. Now get up it's time to go for a run." Ling Xiao said before he turned around to walk out.
"Wait!'' Ling Qin called out as he quickly scrambled off the bed . "How did you know I was awake. I'm pretty sure that I did not make a sound or any movement,plus my breathing was also even so how did you know."Ling Qin asked his dad as he struggled to find out how he was caught.
Hearing the little guys question Ling Xiao turned around to look at the boy amused before answering him. "It's quite simple really. The reason I knew is because you are reborn"
"Ha??" Ling Qin looked as his dad blankly clearly not knowing how these two things were connected at all.
Seeing that the boy still did not get it Ling Xiao decided to explain it in order not to hurt the little boys mind from over thinking.
"You are reborn right?"
"Mhm"Ling Qin hummed.
"Before you were born you lived in the zombie apocalypse which means there is absolutely no way for you to be able to sleep deeply. Since you always have to be on guard against any zombies or harm from other people you should have cultivated the ability to wake up at the slightest sound for your own safety."
"Really that's all?!" Ling Qin was increndyulous. He thought that he was caught because of some super cool training his dad had taken before but that's all it was!?
"Not only that." Ling Xiao continued. Hearing that there was more to it Ling Qin looked up at his dad waiting to hear the rest.
"You said yesterday that you lived with me for a few years during the apocalypse, and knowing myself , even without the apocalypse being always alert is something I would have taught you. Not to mention that it was the apocalypse. I probably had you in training like crazy."Ling Xiao said smilingly before he turned around to head out. "Now get dressed and meet me outside , we still need to do some training before you head off for school."
"Oh oh right"Ling Qin scrambled up. He quickly washed his face and brushed his teeth, changed into training clothes before he ran downstairs.
"Let's go" Ling Xiao said to Ling Qin once he came downstairs.
"Ok. Where's mom?" Ling Qin asked his dad as he followed him outside.
"Sleeping" Ling Xiao responded before he began a slow trot.
"Ohh"Ling Qin said before he quickly caught up. It wasn't long before the two where out of sight.

After Ling Xiao had left the room Emilia couldn't go back to sleep. She just laid down on the bed and tried to sleep but the sleep just wouldn't come. It wasn't long before Emilia heard voices coming from outside and then the closing of the front door signaling that Ling Xiao and Ling Qin had left for the run.
Aggg Emilia groaned before she got up and headed for the bathroom. Since she couldn't go back to sleep anyway then she might as well get up already.
Walking into the bathroom, Emilia went straight for the sink to wash her face to fully wake herself up. Seeing that there was still a lot of time before she had to go to work , and since she had nothing to do Emilia headed straight for the backyard to check on her little garden.
She would have made breakfast but since Ling Xiao said he wanted to do then she would just leave it to him.
Once outside Emilia went to her greenhouse she had built a few months ago (well Ling Xiao was the one who had built it but who cares for minor details right(^^) ).
After her trip to Mr Yang's farm a few months back Emilia had made her own mini farm in the greenhouse of her backyard to try and see whether she could apply what she had learnt from him and what she had gathered during her research on soilless cultivation to her garden. Looking at all the plants that had been growing quite nicely using soilless cultivation Emilia was extremely happy. Since this was a success Emilia did not have to worry about her family not having access to fresh vegetables anymore.
Satisfied with the results of her garden Emilia began walking around and checking on each plant individually to make sure she did not miss anything and that the plants were not just okay on the surface.
Walking around Emilia noticed that there was a plant that needed some water so she went and grabbed a watering can to water it. While watering the plant Emilia's eyes just happened to pass by a little puddle that had formed next to the plant. Her body immediately froze in shock. In the puddle was a clear reflection of her upper body and right below her neck was a glowing blue flower.
"What the heck!"
