Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

"A P O L L O"

Axton was going to throw some remark at me when a familiar voice interrupted us, "If you two are kicking off again, I will literally castrate both of you!" Darcey yelled, catching Axton and I's attention. Her long brown hair flowed behind her as she walked, sunglasses pushed up onto her head, and she was wearing a dark blue one piece. Both Axton and I started opening our mouths to say our side of the story, but Darcey was seeming to have none of it. "Axton, I'm very annoyed with you" Then she turned to me with a disappointed look.

"And you Lover Boy, you should be past the fighting. You have a new opportunity in life, and I suggest you take it." She said, referring to Laike and my fresh start with her. Then Darcey adjusted her head so she had both Axton and I in her line of vision. "Spirit could feel your guys energy's, and then she almost had a breakdown. Rory's up there with her, and you two better behave yourself, otherwise." She paused, sending us a deadly look. "I. Will. Kill. You." I turned to Axton and just glared.

This was as friendly as I was willing to get.

"E V E R E S T"

After my run in with Apollo, up with Spirit, I had decided to look into soulmates more. I grabbed my worn black backpack from the room I was staying in, and dragged it down to the very spacious living room. I had packed the backpack full of things I may need for my research;

Books

A notepad

A pen

A laptop

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw what I had packed at the bottom of my bag.

Gummy worms.

Thank the Lord that Spirit had reminded me, otherwise I would be without my favourite sugary sweet. Now, on with the books.

" L A I K E"

After Apollo's fight with Axton, he came back to the pool. He now seemed quieter and more reserved. He slid back into the pool and just rested on the side, his head leant back slightly, absorbing the heat from the blazing sun. I swam over to him and just stayed by his side. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked softly, placing my hand on his arm, rubbing small circles, that seemed to calm him slightly.

He seemed to visibly relax at my touch, leaning into it. I rested my head on his shoulder, and briefly closing my eyes. I looked to him and saw that he had line tear rolling down his cheek. I desperately tried to wipe it away, but Apollo's hands caught mine before they could wipe the stain of sadness from his face. "Laike, I have never apologised for how I treated you back home. You didn't deserve my... complete utter, bullshit! But then, I stopped being that damn asshole, and noticed you, really noticed you.

How beautiful you are, how your smile lights up the room, how you hide away in my hoodie to escape the world. How you don't see the bad parts of me, and how on earth you cope with me, I will never know, And for that, I am truly sorry."
