Chapter 19 - Chapter Eighteen: "When do I get to meet her?"

Elliot was an only child and his mother, Abigail was his only parent. His father died when he was young and Abigail never remarried. Coming from an average house income, it was hard being a single mother but Abigail managed. She was able to provide everything to her son. Abigail was the one responsible for the education he had today, the manners he showed and the kindness that he treated people with. So Elliot was very close to his mother.

"Mu-uuum! You're hurting me." Elliot complained as his mother twisted his ear.

"You brat where were you all night and why are you coming home only now?" Abigail twisted his ear even more for one last time before letting go.

Elliot pouted and tried soothing his ear. He could still feel the pain."If you let me speak then I can explain." He walked towards the kitchen, Abigail following closely behind.

"Okay then, speak you brat."

Elliot looked at his mother before he took a bottle of water. Suddenly, he was feeling very thirsty. "Well, it's only right I tell you." He sighed as he began to open his mouth to speak. "I have a girlfriend."

Abigail rolled her eyes. "Of course you do." She said sarcastically.

"Mum it's true. I have met the most beautiful woman ever. She is amazing and I think I'm in love with her." Elliot confessed. Whenever he thought about Charlotte his eyes would unconsciously soften and a beautiful smile would grace his face.

Abigail realised that her son was telling the truth. She was delighted at this news and by the looks of it they were serious. Maybe she will get grandkids very soon. But for reasons she wanted to tease him a little. It was always fun to see him flustered. "Is she prettier than me?"

"Yes." Elliot replied absentmindedly. "I-I mean no. Definitely not. Nobody can compare to your beauty mum." He instantly regretted that.

Abigail had aged well. She had beautiful long brown hair with a few sliver strands peeking out. Her eyes were the same beautiful hazel as Elliots. The two looked similar except the few features here and there that Elliot had inherited from his father.

"No need to lie, young man. I am getting old." Abigail feigned a pitiful face.

Elliot was flustered. "Mum, that's not what I meant!" He walked to his mother and hugged her. "You're absolutely beautiful." Abigail had always believed in natural beauty so she had never bothered to colour her greys back to brunette or doing anything to her face to make her look younger. Not that she minded other people doing it. Whatever makes you happy you should go for it. That was her life motto.

Abigail laughed out loud. Her chest rumbled and echoed in the kitchen. She pulled out of the embrace and said, "I'm kidding, son. You are so gullible but it's okay to think about that. Love is supposed to make you feel like that and as your mother I am so happy for you. I thoughtI'd have to die before seeing you this happy and in love." She smiled as fond memories rose in her head.

"Mum! Please don't say that. You're going to live long and watch your grandchildren grow up."

Abigail softly smiled. "I see this girl must be very special for you to think about marriage. The last time you were serious about anything was the day you decided to become an actor. When do I get to meet her?"

Elliot hummed in response. "She is very special as for meeting her she did mention something but I know she's scared so I want to take things slow. I don't want to be scared." He informed.

Abigail understood. She patted her son's back and said, "Alright but don't delay it too much. I want to meet the girl responsible for this." She laughed as she left the kitchen. A huge grin plastered on her face. Now she can die with peace.

Charlotte dressed herself up for the day in a black and white flower print jumpsuit and sandals to go with it. She had tied her hair in a ponytail to keep it out of her face.

When Charlotte went downstairs she found Alexa hauled up in the kitchen. "Hello early riser! I didn't think it was possible for you to be up this early. It's only hitting 10 o'clock in the morning."

Alexa was in a pair of denim shorts matched with a pink knitted short sleeve shirt. "I'm making breakfast as you can see." She said as she tried flipping the half burned egg on the pan. Who knew cooking was harder than it looked?

Charlotte giggled. "I guess it runs in the family. Me, you and your grandmother are just not made for cooking are we."

Alexa sighed. "I guess I should leave it up to the experts. Hell, I can't even cook simple eggs on toast!"

"It's okay, I'll call in someone to deliver breakfast." Charlotte turned off the stove and took Alexa out of the kitchen. "Now go and change, your clothes are stained with oil."

Alexa groaned and nodded but before going she asked, "Auntie can I stay here for another night or two? I really have no intention to go back to my condo. Dads got his people to spy on me." She rolled her eyes as she thought of her father. The old man had nothing better to do than to get involved in her life.

"That's fine. I'll be at Elliots tomorrow night anyways. The amount of times you've crashed at this place, it's practically yours." Charlotte shrugged as if it was no deal. And it wasn't a big deal. Charlotte was the one Alexa was the most close to. After her father won her custody, five year old Alexa had no one to rely on then Charlotte. Her mother was dealing with the aftermath of the divorce. Her father was constantly busy and never had the time for. And what made it worse was that gold digging step mother of hers. Living in the same mansion, Alexa found Charlotte as someone she could confide with and share everything.

"Thank you so much auntie! You know that I love you so much!!" Alexa pressed a wicked kiss to Charlotte's cheeks before she ran off upstairs.

"Oh wait Alexa! Did you-uh happen to hear anything last night." Charlotte shyly asked.

"Hear what Auntie?"

Charlotte secretly sighed. "Nothing my dear, you can go back up now."

Alexa shrugged. "If you say so. And Also you might want to make your room sound proof you know. Just in case." She winked off as she ran upstairs.

"Alexa! You said you didn't hear anything."

Charlotte was beat red. Oh god was she embarrassed. She shook her head helplessly before getting her phone and calling someone to get food.
