Chapter 2 - Inside The Cave

Hundreds of creatures were standing in front of the den. It was their home, but instead of being relaxed, they were even more attentive and disciplined. They reassembled themselves in a single line. The coordination of their movements were just like of trained troops.

The creatures started marching again. Ten meters of advancement, and appears the first junction which was connecting six-to-seven paths. All of the paths were dark, and visibility inside the cave-like den was almost zero. But the creatures were able to function perfectly in the darkness and entered one of those path and proceeded to another juncture. The single-line proceeded underground without any pause or delay, with the preys in their mandibles. They arrived at the basement like room of the den. The preys were thrown there in that room. Some of the preys were still fainted, some were awake but too exhausted and scared to even move a muscle, and some were dead. The creatures left the room, two of them stood on guard at entrance, and the rest dispersed.

The room was dark and it smelled disgusting. It was painted black with the blood of the preys they had captured. It was a very spacious, and was divided into three different sections. In the first and the foremost section, recently captured preys were kept. The second section was behind the first, where preys with rotten bodies were thrown. Most of the preys of second section were dead, but it was Gehenna for those whose lives were oscillating between life and death. The last section was the largest and the most horrible section, the Third section. It had a large mountain of corpses, flesh was totally ripped of from their bodies by the bugs and insects which were crawling over the mountain of corpses like a sandstorm. Now the bones were being devoured by them. Some of the insects crossed over to the second section and started devouring the rotten flesh of the preys. But they didn't dared to touch the unspoiled flesh.

During all this chaos, the kid was still unconscious. A long long time passed, but the child still didn't woke up. One of the prey noticed the child and staggeringly proceeded towards him. It seemed quiet frail and weak. Reaching near the child it sniffed him and bit down the child on his left arm.

The child woke up abruptly. Seeing the prey so close to him he screamed in croak voice. He stood up hurriedly and shook his arms vigorously, making the grip of the prey loosen up. He made some distance between them. The prey grudgingly let go of the child, not wasting any more of energy on him. Child was breathing heavily, his throat was hurting, he was sitting with his back placed on the black colored blooded slippery wall, which was quite unstable for support. So he slipped down and again laid on the ground. He started crying again.

" Shamwan pweas hewph.....umfffff..." (Someone please help)

He was crying alone in that place. While other preys were fighting amongst themselves. Some were devouring the already dead preys, some were fighting for survival, some were looking for an opportunity to arrive. The fight had begun. But before it could get more serious, the guard ants arrived inside the basement and used some sort of power to make all the preys faint again. By the looks of it, they were being captured for serving them as livestock. If the conflict arises and they started brawling, they may end up harming their food. The child who was standing alone on the other side of the room escaped the attack. He blankly stared at the preys lying on the floor and soon he started drooling unconsciously. He was dog-hungry. Unable to think straight he proceeded unconsciously towards the corpses which were half eaten in the first section.

First he couldn't descry the prey because of the darkness, but as soon as he reached closer he couldn't stop himself from vomiting. The insides of the prey were gushing out of the body, which were woefully chewed off by others. He couldn't bring himself to eat it. His stomach was urging him to eat it, but his mind was countering that idea. He stood near the corpse, puzzled, not knowing what to do and what not to. During his baffling, the whole underground shook abruptly. The rumbling imitated an Earthquake.
