Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Right when they were heading back to Sophie and the other kids, Axel received a phone call from an unknown number.

"Guys, excuse me for a bit," he said as he picks up the phone and walks slightly away from the group.

"Hello? Who is this?" he asked towards the person calling him on the other end.

"Ah, hello. Excuse me, but I'd like to speak to Axel from Dos Office," a man's voice can be heard from the other end.

"What business do you have with Axel?" Axel asked, pretending to act as if he's not Axel.

"I would like to meet with mister Axel from Dos Office tomorrow, is that possible?" he asked in a curious tone.

Axel thought to himself for a while before asking again, "Why would you need to talk to Axel or come to his office tomorrow? And what time do you intend to come there?" he asked in an ominous tone that seemed to be threatening for those who hear it with an untrained sense.

"I would like to discuss matters regarding his office, as well as other important stuff. I will come tomorrow at 9 a.m., does that sound good enough?" the man replied in a calm and collected manner as he answers Axel's questions.

"This is Axel speaking. You can come to my office tomorrow. You do know where it is and in what District it's on, right?" he revealed that the man was talking to Axel himself and asked to make sure.

"Why, thank you! And of course, I know the location of your office. Then, I'll see you tomorrow at 9 a.m. mister Axel. Goodbye for now and have a great day," he sounded relieved and excited as he looks forward to seeing Axel.

"Right, goodbye," Axel replied as he then hangs the call and continued to walk back to the group that is now talking to each other while Sophie is surrounded by the kids. The kids all seemed to gather around Sophie as they throw praises and compliments at her, saying things like, "You are awesome!", " Thank you for saving us!", "You looked so cool!"

Even though it was only for a few hours, she managed to make a lot of friends. As she is surrounded by kids, Wyatt, Mirin, and Fulario seemed to be concerned as they are talking about something that Axel can't hear from the distance.

He then walks up to the other three first as he greeted them, "Hey, what's the matter? Anything wrong?" he asked as he stares at each of them one by one.

"We were discussing as to where should these kids go. We can't take them with us but at the same time, we can't leave them here," Mirin replied as she looked at Axel before she goes back to thinking.

"We need to bring them to somewhere that has a huge amount of space. There are at least 25 of them grouped up. We can't bring them to another place that takes care of kids because they might not be able to take care of all of them," Fulario explained as he looked back at the happy group of kids that are still surrounding Sophie.

"Does any of you know anyone who has something similar to Tara's place?" Axel asked as he then follows along to think as well.

"I don't even think there's any other place like Tara's place that took care of kids at that amount, considering how much it would cost them with the foods, clothes, watering, and much of the other stuff," Fulario said in a concerned tone knowing that there's no other place like what Tara has there.

The group of kids is still playing in the background with Sophie. She then looks at Axel and the others who seemed to be in trouble as they are thinking hard. Not wanting to distract her father and the others who are thinking hard, she followed along to play with the kids.

"Wyatt? What about you? What do you think about this? Do you have any idea? You've been quiet all this time," Mirin asked Wyatt who is looking towards the group of kids with his hands in his pocket and a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"You said we need a huge amount of space, right? I know a place that has one," he said as he looked back at the others before looking back at the group of kids and continuing, "We're going to District 33. Spiral Hill. Located at the Eastern part of the City," he said with a nonchalant face. Everyone was shocked when they heard what Wyatt told them.

"Wyatt, what are you talking about? Please be serious about this. This is not the time to be joking around!" Axel exclaimed as he looked at Wyatt thinking that he mocks them.

"But I am being serious. We're going to District 33 to get that space. More specifically, my house," Wyatt said with his half-closed yet dead serious eyes that shows that he is not joking around.

"But, District 33 is one of the Safe Havens. How could you have a home there?" Mirin asked in confusion as she is still shocked because of the ridiculous words that came out of his mouth.

"Yes, a Safe Haven. One of the safest places in the City. Guarded by a guardian called The Guardsmen. Is exactly the place that we wanted, right? Even though I don't have any plans of going back there, it seems like we have no choice," he said again while still looking at the group of kids playing around.

"Even so, how are we going to get there in the first place, Wyatt? That's at the other side of the City which is almost 350 KM away from us, and that's drawing a straight line. Not to mention that we need to go through all the other Districts just to get there before even entering the place," Fulario exclaimed in shock as he is still confused.

"We'll take a Time Track, of course. The budget wouldn't be that expensive since we'll use my ancient unused credit," he said with a stone emotionless face.

"Then, all this time, you lied about coming from around this District?" Axel asked in a serious tone to Wyatt for confirmation.

"I never said I was from around here in the first place. You were the one assuming that I came from around here," Wyatt answered while raising one eyebrow while answering his question.

"Let's go now, what are we waiting for? We need to quickly get going and go there before it's dark, you know? You guys may not notice it but it's already 01:30 p.m." Wyatt said as he shifts his body weight on his left leg and stared at everyone.

"Right then, let us go now," Axel said as he walks towards the group of kids who are playing with Sophie. Followed by Wyatt, Mirin, and Fulario.

"Alright, everyone! Listen up!" Axel shouted to try and get the attention of the kids. They all looked at him in confusion with blank faces.

"All of you will get a new home! And the one who's giving it is this person right here! His name is Wyatt! And he shall guide you all to your new place!" Axel shouted once again to announce a new place for the kids to stay in.

"I never told you that I'm giving them my house, tho...?" Wyatt murmured to himself softly as he looks at Axel before looking at the group of kids. "Alright! So... uh... We're going to take a Time Track to get there so prepare yourself to be blown away!" he continues, trying to look cool with his hands on his pockets while still wearing his ridiculous bear onesie.

The kids can be heard talking among themselves speaking about Wyatt, and some of them are even audible to him with some saying things like, "Can we trust him?", "I mean, he saved us, I guess?", "He looks a little bit suspicious, don't you think so?", " Look at that outfit! it's so cute!" all of them have mixed feelings and responses.

"Alright then! Since we are going to go now, does anyone have anything they want to say or bring with them??" Axel shouted once more to see if there's any response. "Since no one answered, we will go now! Follow the lead of mister Wyatt!!" he then continued as he points at Wyatt.

Wyatt sighed as he then leads the group of kids along with Sophie and Axel following them and Fulario with Mirin trailing behind them. The group walks once more into the District as they continued their journey to a new destination for the kids.
