Chapter 54 - I Would Prefer.... Home!!

Unlike me, if you are a normal person, you would find it easy to survive: Eat, work, and sleep.

But unfortunately, I am a warrior who needs to stop something very bad from happening in Darknor. Looking at the room, I felt shivers going through my body and I couldn't move. The room consisted of many tools and machines.

On the right, there was a machine which held a long sharp sword. I already knew we had to fight the thing for practice. I looked to my left and found a robotic man, standing on a small surface around lava with a hammer. Let me guess. We had to fight it without falling into lava and standing on the few given surfaces which seemed to move when we stood on them. It was about balance.

My eyes moved forward as Wade showed us the next test. There were five machines in front of us, with arrows loaded into them, ready to be launched and break our faces. Another test on the right corner was of five robotic warriors for us to face together.

I had already gotten enough of it when I saw the center battlefield. "This is where you can fight each other till death. You all will be practicing for at least six hours so warm up. I will come back in five minutes. Have a look around." Wade smiled and went off.

We looked at each other. Rock Flames was standing there, proud of himself for building such a practice zone. I wanted to smack his face and just feed him to Raptor. Oliver looked as tense as I was. Xavier was regretting his choice of joining us. But Lily seemed excited.

"I have always wanted to battle in such an area. This is going to be epic!" She exclaimed. Sometimes, I really thought that Lily was Raptor, so wild and excited for battles and the rude attitude. We sat on the nearby wooden chairs which was the only safe thing I could see in the whole room. "What do you think?" Oliver asked me, scanning the battle arena. With a depressed tone, I replied, "I would prefer to go back home and curl into my not 'that luxurious but yet nostalgic' bed forever." Oliver and I had a nervous laugh until Wade came back.

"Ok… We are ready. Let's go to the first test." He took us to the machine with a sword. "Take out your weapons, warriors. Chance by chance, we will fight the machine. Watch out because it has pretty awesome moves in store for you." Wade explained. "I hope my chance never comes." Xavier muttered.

Lily came forward, unsheathing her daggers and ready for some action. Wade understood and made way. The moment Lily came close to the big fat wooden hand, it spoke, "Verifying warrior. Lily, DETLA warrior. Authentication complete. Good luck, Lily!!" Saying so, the hand began moving. For a day, the amount of technology I had seen was too much.

"Oh yeah! Bring it on." Lily proudly said. But she regretted saying that the next moment itself. Immediately, the hand did a vertical slash to slice her into two. If it wasn't for her swiftness, she would have been done for. She kept her distance. Wade asked, "Now do you think you are strong enough to face Raptor?"
