Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: Throne of the Immortal King

This item is actually a throne, made of gold and silver. Its size is worthy of a king, and it was for quite a sinister one. The throne has the back as tall as the sky, with the top of it reaching the ceiling of the royal throne room. However, its look is not the only thing strange about this throne.

In this world, the king was obsessed with power and would do anything to continue to rule his country with an iron fist as long as possible. As such, he invested almost all the money he has amassed from wars and taxes in research for immortality. As such, after almost 50 years, his research has finally paid off. He discovered the way to immortality, however, it's quite the blessing and a curse. In his pursuit of life, he never looked at the downsides of such a power. The throne was modified to pierce the person who sits on it and would be injected with a concoction that would keep the mind active and heart pumping.

The downside of such a disgusting throne would be how if the person were to stand up from the chair, it would result in instant death. Additionally, the concoction would result in the person forever conscious, unable to sleep. And unsurprisingly, the king sat on this throne, only hungry for that power. As such, he sat and stayed sitting, which each piercing needle stuck on him, from his head to his legs. For almost 1000 years, he sat. Not even realising that after the first 100 years, he stopped talking, kept in a vegetated state. Unable to even escape the curse he has left himself in. In the next 10 years, the kingdom collapsed, with an earthquake burying his castle alongside with him. Resulting in him kept in a dark crypt. Never rotting, never truly dead, yet ever present in his surroundings.

What a pitiful man, in his pursuit of power, left himself into a state of stasis. Incapable of even ruling a nation forever. In conclusion, I stole the throne....with him still on it. I mean, he is good company. In my personal dimension, it gets pretty lonely, so having a dude that I know can at least listen to me is nice. Though the throne topples over often due to how dumb the throne's design is. Maybe some day I will take him out of the throne, maybe. Or heck, maybe I could dig up something that'll cure him. Could be fun.
