Today, I will share about another person that has held the mark of the revenant, he was a bard. He was a very notable bard, going from town to cities, reciting the poems and songs he has created himself. He was loved by peasants and nobles and had even the honour to entertain a king on his birthday. However, he felt that he needed to change, wanting more fame than ever.
As a result, he decided to make fun of people to get a laugh out of the audience. He would come up with songs with his lute, insulting the kings or even notable heroes. However, no one wanted to even listen to him any more due to how it has changed from light-hearted fun to extreme slander. And unfortunately, he could never see that the material has made him hated, assuming that everyone just did not get it.
He slowly sunk into this hatred, going mad with anger. Hysterical with his performances and being kicked out and beaten up constantly. Eventually, in the end, was turned into almost a lifeless ghoul in the street and was left with nothing but the rags on his body and the lute that seems to have rotted out. As he was at the end of his life, the mark was given to him.
Given new life, he was now filled with hysterical anger. His lute now brand new and gleaming a shiny black. Whenever it was strummed, people would be turned into mindless zombies, following whatever the bard commanded. It would almost look like black shadowy tentacles would appear whenever music is played and latch on to the heads of those who hear the accursed tune. All who hear his music are new die hard fans of his music and could never let go of the tune in their head anymore. Millions fell to this curse and could never escape from it.
His end was unknown, but his lute was the only artefact left on this world after years of tormenting the world he existed in. In my theory, I believe that the deal only lasted a limited number of time and when that time was up. The god of death, Aini would take your soul for his use. I now own the lute, that seems to have lost all of its abilities and returned to its semi-rotted look.
