(SKYLAR)
After Jordan slammed his door shut on my face, I walked down to the kitchen where I found scrambled eggs covered with a lid in a skillet on the stove, and right next to it, on the counter, was the toaster with toasts already in it.
I pushed the button on it and it sucked the toasts in. A few minutes later, they popped up all hot and golden-brown.
I waited for a while hoping Jordan would join me for breakfast as well but he didn't. It was when I heard the elevator go down that I knew he had left without a word.
Was it because of the conversation we had earlier or was he just not a morning person?
I ate the breakfast that I assumed Jordan had prepared, in silence, all by myself. Alone.
A feeling of emptiness tugged at my heart and I realized how much I already missed Maddy. I hadn't talked to her all day yesterday. She had called me last night but I had already fallen asleep by then.
