Chapter 5 - Founding Fortis Village II

After seeing Upendra's specialty only one position came to my mind where he can be properly utilized and that was in territory schools. He can single-handedly solve the need for civil officers for the territory if given enough time. After rejoicing my luck I met with the master-builder named Udaynath.

In the work profession, anyone can become a novice given basic training of a week without any buffs. To upgrade to apprentice one along with at least having D grade talent needs more experience and knowledge in the related field, then he can be promoted to an apprentice in a week. Those who have E-grade talent must work extremely hard to upgrade their talent before becoming an apprentice. An apprentice is someone with a solid base but will not give any buff when training someone and to become the journeyman he/she needs to develop a specialty. If given sufficient knowledge and experience an apprentice can become a journeyman in around a month. Journeymen give decent buff when training someone but they are more inclined towards developing their specialty. Masters are as the name suggests great at developing talents, that is why they give great buffs when training someone. Their specialty also develops greatly from what it was at journeyman state. A grandmaster is more inclined to research and takes very few disciples but those chosen ones develop at breakneck speed. And lastly, the legends are all independent phenomena so no fixed parameter has been given to them.

After meeting with them I personally greeted with rest of our first founding members among which there was a B grade apprentice merchant named Heeralal, 2 C grade Silver rank civil officers, 1 C grade apprentice carpenter, and 1 C grade apprentice scholar. Around 100 of them were D grade and around 600 E grade, and all of them were either farmers or laborers or novices in a certain profession apart from children and old fogies.

After meeting them I invited all 10 available people I recruited from the shop along with the apprentice carpenter and merchant for the meeting to discuss how to proceed from here. After one hour of intense discussion, we reach the conclusion of the meeting.

The first thing I ordered Somadatta the Diamond grade civil officer to set up a temporary management committee comprising of two other silver rank civil officers and 7 other literate people with knowledge in various fields of work who will manage and plan the resources of the territory. I will be the Director and Somadatta will be the deputy director. His first job was to coordinate with everyone and prepare the list of resources required to start developing the village.

The carpenter named Bhanu was ordered to bring some men and one member of the management committee along with some soldiers to set up a woodcutter's lounge, storage shed, and workshop near the forest in the west situated at 2 km from here. As for initial resources and tools, I was going to provide after purchasing from the global trading platform. After ordering this I gave him a blueprint set of carts which I got from the special shop to start constructing them after getting the first batch of woods.

Master builder Udaynath was ordered to gather enough men and first build the wood area after that houses, stone mines, warehouse, army training camp, farms, and school and other important structures. I was going to provide him necessary blueprints and initial resources and tools from the trading platform.

Master trainer Virbhan was ordered to select 50 men to start preliminary training and after getting army training camp, seriously start training them as archers. He also had to handle the training of 100 light cavalries and at least 2 generals.

Master scholar Somnath will work with journeyman hunter Raghuveer to domesticate various animals like chicken, cattle, goats, and sheep to lay the foundation of the territory farm industry. They will train some men to effectively manage the farm. After laying the foundation and selecting suitable land for postures, a stable will be built, the 50 light cavalries will be dismounted and converted to Infantry soldiers and the horses will be sent to the stable. Meanwhile, Somanath will research effective horse breeding and raising programs. Raghuveer will train some hunters and continue searching for more horses and other beasts.

Another Journeyman hunter Umakant will map the area around a radius of 10 km from the village center. Besides mapping, he will also take note of any hidden dangers special in the west and south forests.

Territory Doctor Aacharya Amodini will develop the herb garden building which I had purchased from the special shop. Along with this, she will also teach in the new school that was going to be built in the territory and look for rare herbs around the area.

Master blacksmith Guher will take some disciples and start working on the top grade smithy I had purchased from the special shop. He will also arrange for men to search for iron ore and coal in the nearby region. After setting the foundation he will research infantry tower shields from available resources to equip our soldiers.

Master tailor kapilsen will also take some disciples and after setting his workshop will start producing leather items for various purposes. Along with that, he will also work on some rare materials which I was going to purchase from the trading platform to earn some money for the territory.

Another Master scholar Upendra Das will choose some literate people from the crowd and along with me prepare a curriculum for the school. After building the school, he will take charge of it to develop it.

All of these projects along with various other small things like digging of well, household registration, gathering berries and fruits, etc will be coordinated and managed by the management committee who will report to me every day. Although it was a simple arrangement nonetheless it was an effective one considering our present situation. After giving orders I looked at everyone, seeing the fire in their eyes and firm resolve I smiled and said, "Let's begin", and with this first stone in the foundation of a great kingdom was laid.
