Chapter 6 - First day in Village

After dispersing everyone I went to Inventory and selected the global trading platform, the location I chose was outside the opposite side of the village center with a supposed 100X100m village square separating them. After placing the building first thing I did was to check on the blueprint section. I spent 200 gold to buy blueprints of a standard house, standard school, Army training camp, Tailor's workshop, and Carpenter's workshop. I spent another 100 gold on wood planks, stones, tools, and 1 month's worth of grain, salt, and other necessities. With this, I had only 500 golds left. Somadutta was with me this whole time and after receiving all the resources he first made a note and then distributed it as planned.

Now that the resources are available, people started their work. Children were scattered picking berries, men were carrying materials from one place to another, some women took the food materials and after clearing a place started preparing the meal for the whole village. Some old coots cleared a place beneath a tree and started gossiping about who knows what. It seemed as the whole wilderness became lively.

With this settled, I finally had some free time and after enjoying the view for some time I started planning about the village structure. After meticulous work of 3 hours when it was about mealtime I finished the village blueprint. The men who were working all came to the village square and sat orderly waiting for lunch. Seeing this beautiful picture of hundreds of people despite their status, talent, or professions eating together sitting on the earth, warmth filled in my heart, and without even thinking I took the plate and went to the old lady who was serving the food.

"Excuse me, Mai*, this son is also hungry so can you please serve some to me," I said with a slight smile on my face right after approaching her. Seeing the Lord himself asking for food her hands trembled and her eyes started to waver, "l...l...l...lord you don't need to ask just order the servant and I will personally arrange for someone to take food to you", she said in a hoarse voice.

Hearing this I laughed, "Hahaha...just consider me your son and hurry up and give me the food I can't stand this wonderful aroma". And then she came out of the daze and served.

Although this was event was not something I care about but in eyes of the villagers, my image was already established as a kind and humble lord. After finishing the lunch I called Udaybhan and showed him the blueprint I planned for the village. Since he was a master builder, he suggested some changes in layout, and then after checking everything was okay I passed it to him to implement and complete it in a month.

It was basically a standard village with the modern implementation of infrastructure and drainage systems. Taking village square as center the wooden walls I purchased from the special shop would be placed. The village will be divided into five sections, the center section consisting of the village center, Lord's manor, tavern, super trading platform, and village square. The Southeast section will be the military section consisting of training camp, smithy, etc. The Southwest section will be public affairs buildings like Infirmary, School, Library, and Herb garden. The Northwest section will be a commercial district with some houses and the Northeast section will be the residential area. All the areas will have proper space, infrastructure, and drainage systems.

Next, I went to the location of the smithy that was planned before and placed it in the spot. Since it was purchased from the special shop so how can it be so simple. Just as I placed it in the spot a white light surrounded it and then slowly faded. Getting curious about what was that about I checked the status of the building and seeing that my jaws dropped to the floor. It was surely a jackpot.

[Name - Super Smithy (Building)]

[Capacity - 100 people]

[Speciality - +30% increase in crafting speed, +50% increase in attraction rate of blacksmiths, the furnace can help in producing very high temperature even with low-grade fuel]

Its special furnace was going to be a great help in steel making and will also save a lot of fuel. The capacity of 100 people means it was like an ancient factory.

Next, I placed the library and Herb garden at designated places. After finishing all this I sat on the grass and closed my eyes to enjoy the fresh cool breeze. The enticing smell of earth mixed with the fragrance of flowers made me realize that although it's a game still I don't mind spending my life here. After taking a deep breath I thought, 'So this was how our earth was hundreds of years ago before we made it into the hell it is today'.

*Mai means someone who is similar to a mother in the Awadhi language
