Hiro sped to the hospital "WHAT THE HELL? I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THAT TO HER!" Riku roared. "I know I can't even fathom what love means to him." Hiro calmly replied. "That is not called love he's just a psycho!" Riku snapped.
As they finished their conversation the doctor came out. Hiro immediately got up and walked to the doctor. Riku followed behind calmly. "How is she?" Hiro asked worriedly. "She's fine she's just resting now. But she does have a hairline fracture on her wrist along with some contusions. Luckily she won't need any surgery but we'll put on a splint and monitor the swelling. Once the swelling has gone down we can proceed to put on a cast. Any idea how this could have happened? She was very vague in her response to our questions and didn't give any specifics." Hiro quickly looked at Riku "Well..." before Hiro could continue his sentence Riku immediately cut him off. "She didn't give us any specifics either so we're just as clueless." Riku quickly replied. Hiro looked at her with confusion feeling betrayed. The doctor looked at Riku and then at Hiro and hesitated "Okay then. I won't press any further." The doctor responded calmly with concern in her eyes and bid her farewell to see the next patient.
As soon as the doctor was out of sight Hiro glared at Riku "Why did you do that?!" Trying to keep a calm tone. "Look Hiro I know you're trying to be all noble and stuff but think about it what's right for you might not be right for her. There's a reason she didn't tell the doctor everything. She's going through enough pain already and if you step in imagine how much more pressure that will put on her. Right now she just needs friends." Riku reasoned. To Hiro what she said made sense so he couldn't stay mad. Hiro looked into Haru's room and saw her staring out the window with a blank expression. Then suddenly she began to cry. Hiro immediately went into the room and hugged her. "You okay?" He asked. His deep voice was soothing and pleasant to the ears. "What did I do to deserve this? Am I a bad person?" She cried. Hiro hugged her tighter "I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this." He frowned. "Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong" Haru chuckled softly. "But still-" before Hiro could finish his sentence Haru grabbed his hand "thank you" she smiled. When Hiro saw her smile his heart broke and he felt himself falling for her his thoughts were suddenly interrupted "well now you're completely useless to me." Riku snorted. "It's nice to see you too" Haru chuckled. Riku smiled "Well doctor says we can take you home tonight but we have to bring you back after the swelling goes down so they can cast it. Since it's only on a splint you can't be moving your wrist around too much. I suggest you stay at home until they cast it." Riku calmly explained.
"Maybe I should call in tomorrow."
"Hiro you and I both know that we can't afford to do that. Haru will you be okay by yourself at home? Does your ex-husband know where you live?" Riku looked at Haru and spoke in a very serious tone.
"No, I haven't told him where I live," Haru answered truthfully. "Can I just come to work with you guys? I really don't want to stay home." Haru was shivering in fear. Riku walked over calmly, sat next to Haru, and rubbed her back.
"I think that would be a better idea that way we know she's safe" Hiro chimed in. Riku thought for a moment "I guess I could find more simple tasks for her to do. That way she can look busy if the boss ever comes in." "I guess it's settled then Haru will come to work with us tomorrow. We'll bring her back in a couple of days for her check-up." Hiro got up and went to finish up Haru's discharge work while Riku helped her out of the bed and back into her normal clothes.
While they were driving home Kiba was pacing back and forth in his living room "How dare that good for nothing punk drag her out of my house. He didn't even let her admit anything to me." He walked up to the window and looked down at the street. 'They went in that direction so I guess I can start looking there first I'll find her. Then I'll make sure she admits that she still loves me. I already know she's lying that she doesn't.' He thought to himself. While he was staring down at the street Hiro's car was heading in the opposite direction from where Kiba thought she lived.
