Chapter 7 - His place

The place of the head of All Souls Community, shortly called as ASK was located in the middle of the wide ground belonging solely to the owner. It was believed by the residents living as part of ASK that Ark Bishop conquered the grounds similarly as any other bandit.

The bandit not only made this place his own, he let the people take residence freely as they wished.

Genevieve had the smile on her lips as she walked the freshly cut grass with her husband. Not seeing, emerged the power of hearing better for her.

"I think most of them forgot I also live here." Gene whispered to her husband as she heard the gossips surrounding, especially ladies.

"Then we have to ensure they remember this phase of walk very, very well." Horan as usual received numerous stares from the fellow women, which he replaced by putting all his attention on his wife. He tightened his hold on her waist, creating an uproar of different kind of rumours.

Something they didn't mind listening to.

As much as the place seemed like a small, happy town there were bad things rooted for such a beautiful place. It was by now the most beautiful town in the city.

Genevieve was the next person after Ark to know every nook and crook of this place. Thus it didn't take her long to contemplate they reached the coven.

"You're going past the coven," she reminded her husband. Though she never entered the place since that day, but she was aware how to reach it.

The hold of her husband gripped painfully, causing a gasp from the woman.

"I wished my plan worked. But now that it didn't, we are going back."

He pulled her in his arms and carried to the opposite direction to where they were supposed to enter.

"Horan, stop this! You agreed you won't counter my decision!"

"No. I merely said I'll wait for you outside. We waited long enough, now it's time to go."

Genevieve couldn't believe her husband's wickedness. That was the one thing she liked and got irritated about him.

"Horan! What about our goal? We spoke about this. And, let me down already!"

"I'll let you down only after we reach our bed darling."

"I can't believe I fell for your helping face! You never wanted me to speak with Ark!"

"Whatever you want to believe darling as long as my work is done."

She began crawling her nails against his shirt, begging him to let go. The way the couple had made their way to the Owner, drawing eyes of passers, it happened the similar way as they rode back together.

The entire day Genevieve did not heed to her husband for anything. In fact she also didn't wait for dining with him, something they shared as a ritual for themselves. No matter what, they would have dinner together.

Horan was well satisfied with anything his wife provided him as long as that meant she didn't have to place her feet within miles of that Devil's house.

The blind woman was aroused in the middle of the night. She knew it from the sound of owls hooting which increased greatly around midnight.

She pulled Horan's arm away from her waist, sliding down the bed slowly. Feeling the window panes open, she went over to shut them.

While closing the front door window, she heard something. Which she hadn't for a long time and recognised still.

Ensuring to be very quiet this time so as to not wake Horan, Genevieve opened the front door to step out.

"You wanted to see me." Ark started as she walked closer.

"It is you who is here not the other way."

"Always beating around the bush, Weave. No wonder why he sticks around you."

"I don't want to talk about my husband with you. That was enough and the only talk the last time." Genevieve went against her husband's wishes for meeting her former friend but that didn't mean she would hear anything from Ark Bishop.

"Then what do you want with me, Weave?"

It seemed like a millennium passed since she heard someone calling her that. Frankly, she used to hate her long name with three syllables. At that time Ark decided to make it easier for her.

He called her Weave ever since.

And there she was thinking will never hear that term.

Making her way to the source of his sound, Weave stood facing her former friend and trying to not show the pleasure she had in hearing him. At least she speculated the correct direction.

Ark missed his friend more. She could start a new life with Horan but he remained most alone. Yet he did not mind it.

The way she tipped her chin up as if meeting his eyes clearly, she didn't appear blind at the moment.

Her confidence only made him sorry. The incident two years back not only lost her eyesight but also their friendship.

"Do not act like you know nothing. She is here before time Ark. This was not supposed to happen like this!"

The image of pity for Weave turned into usual stone cold face he wore often.

"You were here since you were born Weave. There was no time for you to decided if you want to take the reins." His voice thundered loud that could have woken her husband but that was the last thing she cared right now.
