Chapter 47 - Processing: Part 4/4

It was her first time saying it out loud, but now that she had, Sylvie felt more determined than ever.

"Well, young miss, if that's the goal, then fight tooth and nail for it!" Bingo stated proudly, feeling a sudden fire sparked inside of him. The rest of the group felt the same. Bane nodded in agreement. "Yeah, if anyone can achieve that, it's you."

They continued to chat while everyone finished up testing. Once finished, Serena grabbed one of the tablets to see the final numbers.

286 Warlords:

- 146: D Grades

- 79: C Grades

- 37: B

- 19: A

- 04: Stripped

- 01: Unknown

'Much smaller numbers. I'm sure the method gave rise to higher grades and weeded out the weaker and unfortunate ones. Evaluation by practical application. Maybe something to investigate in the future,' Serena thought.

"Ok, now that the testing is all finished, guild selection will now be open. Let me introduce the guilds before we get underway. We have the Big 5." Everyone started to cheer as she continued.

"First, we have Infinite Light led by the Ice Queen, Guildmaster Melody." Everyone started to clap as a striking woman stood from her seat to wave. She had jet-black hair and a dark blue gown on. She didn't like to wear her armor unless specifically needed.

"Next up, we have TerraFormer led by the Bull, Guildmaster Jillian." A chubby woman with full bronze armor nodded but didn't stand. She had a single red braid; Haruto noticed she looked quite like a Viking.

"Our next member of the Big 5 is Omega led by Guildmaster Monger." All anyone could see was a person in full armor who gave a salute.

"Next of the Big 5, we have GoldenAge led by the newest Guildmaster Byron." Everyone noticed how the majority of the other GoldenAge members just scoffed and didn't seem to stand by him.

"He's the one who replaced Kane, and apparently, he's having trouble currently swaying the guild members to the new way of thinking. Kane had it to where GoldenAge accepted mostly nobles. It was the only way to discriminate against people not from royal lines. He despises non-royals." Sylvie decided to fill everyone in on the strange atmosphere when Byron was mentioned.

"How does someone like Kane become a Guildmaster?" Bane asked. Sylvie just looked over, "Power."

Seeing things had become awkward, Serena moved on.

"Last of the Big 5, ShadowBliss led by the Guildmaster Trickster." Everyone waited, yet no one stood. 'That guy never decides to show up.' Serena wasn't surprised. Only top ShadowBliss Guild members had actually met their Guildmaster.

"Now that they have been introduced, you have six hours to make your choice. If you do not make one, you will automatically be classed as a freelance. Begin!"

Haruto was surprised. He was sure the guy he met was a Guildmaster. "Hey, Sylvie, do you know of an OrionsHeart Guild?"

Sylvie already knew she was going to go with a small guild, so she didn't bother paying attention to the Big 5 introductions. After hearing the question, she started to think.

"Now that you mention it, I do. If I remember correctly, my sister told me of a smaller guild that was extremely small, yet their collective power could rival the Big 5 if they wanted."

"They just never take the initiative to move up. Why? No one knows. Their Guildmaster is supposedly quite eccentric."

Haruto started to look around at the smaller gazebos and in the far back was a small one with a single person. The guy had on a cowboy hat and what looked like jeans. He had his feet kicked up and his hat covering his face. Not only was he not paying attention, but he was also asleep! 'Is he ignoring every single Warlord who walks up?' Haruto wondered.

The other three bid farewell as they went off to scout the Big 5. "Hey, guys, want to come with me?" Sylvie and Bane looked at each other and shrugged. They all started to walk over to where the man was seated.

As they approached, a pair of Warlords passed them as they were leaving.

"Screw that guy; he's going to ignore some of the highest-classed Warlords. I'm an Upper Rare grade. Fuck that loser and his piece of shit guild!"

Those were harsh words, they thought as they approached the table. Haruto figured the gazebo looked like something someone would put in their backyard.

Before Haruto could even speak, the man lifted his hat and moved to sit upright. He suddenly did not have the lazy aura around him as he seemed extremely focused.

"It's about damn time you showed up, and you brought friends… good, you'll need them. I see Serena had her sweet time as always. Well, whatever… shall we begin?"
