'Begin what?' This was their initial thought as they all looked at each other, then back at the table. To their surprise, Jack was now gone! Haruto suddenly felt a shift in the wind aura that had come to surround his body on a constant basis, almost as if it was alive and protecting its host.
"Look ou..!!"
Before he could guard, he felt a hard blow to his side that sent him flying across the square into another stand. His eyes were wide with shock at the power of the blow. It was similar to Motar's strikes but heavier. Denser.
Sylvie and Bane stared in shock at the quickness of Jack. They hadn't even seen him move! As they tried to get on guard, Bane suddenly felt someone grab the back of his neck. 'How did he get behind me?' Bane thought as he was immediately slammed into the ground, coughing out blood in the process. If it wasn't for his robust body, his head would have likely been cracked open!
Sylvie, seeing this, immediately activated every magical buff she could to reinforce her body, which was just in time as she suddenly felt her hair get pulled. But as if she expected a sneak attack, a trap formation lit up underneath her.
'Oh?' Jack inwardly thought as the entire formation exploded. He hadn't bothered to dodge as it wasn't anything to be concerned about. Sylvie wasn't as lucky. Casting it as fast as she could, she allowed herself no time to escape the blast. As it exploded, she caught most of the blast and was thrown across the ground.
'What is going on? Why is he attacking us?' Haruto thought as he stumbled back into the square. He was holding his left arm and knew it was probably broken. This was an incredible feat considering his revelation about Dimitri's blessing. He looked to his right and could see Bane getting up as well. Bane had a few cuts but otherwise seemed okay.
Above the square, the top two ranking members of OrionsHeart watched the battle take place from a room they accommodated for the day. "Ahhhh, he's at it again, huh? This is why we never get fresh people," Jynx stated while letting out an exasperated sigh. V chuckled, knowing this was Jack's usual initiation process.
"How long do you think they'll last?" she asked Jynx, not taking her eyes off the battle. Jynx looked back and put his hand on his chin as if deep in thought. "Hmm, they did fight with Motar, right? At least two of them? I'd say five minutes, hahaha." V just shook her head at Jynx's lighthearted nature.
After the three had gathered back up, Jack was standing there as if he was politely waiting for them to gather themselves. "Is this all you three have? Pathetic! Show me something… Or I'll kill you for wasting my time!!" Although they didn't know him well, Bane could tell he was serious.
"Guys, we got to come up with a plan to beat him. Let's go initiation style! Bane, take up support. Haruto, damage dealer." They both understood as Haruto started to run off, gathering speed despite his injured arm. He could use one of his potions, but he felt it would be a waste in a situation like this. His hands started to crackle as the sound of birds filled the atmosphere. He noticed his lightning formed faster, and as he rounded the corner, he launched it at Sylvie like how they took out the beasts. Sylvie had finished creating the formation in the sky as Bane used his Hydra Blades to direct them at Jack. He only stood there smiling.
'Now this is more like it. They've already lasted longer than the last two idiots. This is becoming a lot more fun.'
Jack scoffed at the attempt. "That's a cute trick but let me show you real lightning power!!" He shouted as he stuck his hands out, gathering lightning into two rotating spheres.
'He has lightning magic as well?!' were everyone's thoughts as they saw Jack create the spheres.
He then thrust his hands forward, releasing the lightning. The spheres sped off at frightening levels, creating a screeching sound and tearing up the ground as they traveled. His power immediately collided with the trio's attack, eventually powering through.
Sylvie immediately redirected the lightning to a nearby building, destroying it, completely baffling them.
'What type of scary power is this?'
"Guys, he's at least an Upper Unique. We have to change tactics!" Sylvie shouted. Jack, hearing this, smiled. Usually, it would take new Warlords a bit to consider the grade. Unique wasn't his grade, but the fact she took the time to consider it as a battle variable showed she could think quickly on her feet and likely didn't let the fog of battle give her tunnel vision. Sylvie then started to wonder how no one realized this high-powered battle was happening right in the square. After a few quick glances, it was weird. Everyone was conducting business as usual.
Meanwhile, up in the room looking down, V and Jynx were pleasantly surprised watching the battle. "These kids are a lot better than I thought. To think they'd come together so quickly. He's going easy on them but still…" Jynx commented as he keyed in on Haruto. The way he moved, channeled his magic. Either he is one-dimensional or... he's afraid. 'Why is he holding back?' he thought curiously.
