Chapter 1 - I'm Being Mugged By The Man of My Dreams!?

Lynne:

I never expected to wake up in a place that wasn't my room.

The day before I went to sleep was a day like any other. I woke up to my butler Wallace telling me that breakfast was ready. I studied for my classes, then lunch. Afterwards was violin practice and fencing, then supper. That's when my mom finally came home so we ate together. She would ask me about my day, my studies. I would try to ask her about work... but she never answered me.

After my day came to an end, I went to sleep on a waterbed with only the finest satin bed sheets, feather pillows and a solid gold bed stand in a room the size of a house. Then as I slept I got the sensation like I was falling. Plummeting from the sky. I tried to open my eyes, to wake myself up but it felt like they had been glued shut. My stomach felt like it had retracted into my throat and suddenly a pain shot through my back as I hit the ground.

My eyes finally broke free and shot open wide, but I wasn't met with the sight I usually saw after a night's slumber. It was dark, a sky full of stars off in the distance. From what I could tell without looking around, I was in some back alleyway. A building was touring over me, another one very close by, both of them looked rundown. The paint was chipping off of it, it was covered in scuffs and dirt. I wondered what kind of butler they were paying to allow their house to get this sketchy.

I would have looked around more if it hadn't been for the sudden looming shadow which blocked the light from the moon. My vision was casted into darkness, all I could see standing over me was a boy who looked to be around my age. Even through the darkness of the night, the first thing I noticed was how stunningly attractive he was. He was covered in sweat and gash wounds from head to toe. Despite being covered in dirt, grime and blood my heart fluttered at the very sight of him.

He had spiky, flaming red hair that was messy and a bit matted but it framed his face nicely. The boy's eyes were a golden colour, sharp and focused, they looked like they were glowing through the shadows. Both colours were a crazy unnatural colour I had only ever seen in cartoons, but they worked together nonetheless. His face looked chiseled and defined for a boy his age, yet soft enough to still resemble a usual teenager. From his chin up to the middle of his cheek there was a scar, it looked like it had been made by some sharp object but the way it was healed so thoroughly made it obvious it was a wound from a long time ago.

He was dressed in rags, a light grey shirt and a off-green pair of loose pants. Both were stained and ripped, like they had been worn for years. The boy seemed to have rather tan skin usually, but in this moment he was pale, black bags under his eyes as his weight shifted from leg to leg as if he would fall over at any moment.

The light grey shirt was short sleeve, his broad shoulders and toned arm muscles on full display for my enjoyment. Even though his clothes fit loose, I could tell that the rest of his body was toned and from where I was lying he looked rather tall.

He was so attractive that he was almost hard for me to look at. I had to remind myself not to get flustered, this mystery man also had a dangerous vibe around him. Trying to take back control of my thoughts, my eyes shifted. After looking where I was again, processing that the blood this man was covered in may not all be his own... it snapped me out of my fantasy.

When I was back to reality I felt a sharp, cold blade press against the skin from under my neck. My heart dropped as I froze, staring into the boy's eyes. The red head's gaze still gleamed with anger and pride despite his condition, the sword pressing just a bit harder against my neck.

"Give me everything you've got, rich boy." The red headed boy snarled. His voice was hoarse but I could tell it was deep, the kind of voice I always found quite pleasing to listen to.

My mind started racing, my heart beating against my chest as I broke out into a cold sweat. I was being mugged by the man of my dreams... I started to debate with myself if this was a dream or a nightmare. However, as that thought crossed my mind I realized something important.

I was still asleep.

The last thing I remembered before I ended up here was getting into bed and closing my eyes, now I woke up here. This had to be a dream. My unconscious mind must have created the boy I would find most attractive. There was no way out of pure coincidence a boy who checks off all my turn on boxes would suddenly appear in front of me. There was no way any person could possibly be that lucky.

I just couldn't figure out why he was pointing a sword at my neck. Since I knew I was asleep, I figured it must be my first experience lucid dreaming. A state of mind where I know everything is a dream and I can control my own actions.

My mind flooded with devious thoughts. If I couldn't be with a guy in the real world, a dream world would be the next best thing. There were no worries, no questioning... Since I dreamed him up, he had to be gay too! It was only logical. So, I spoke with the confidence of any idiot who thought they were living in a dream.

"Damn, you're cute."
