The boy staggered, struggling pushing against the odds which were not in his favor.
He heard screeching which sent him shivers, he picked up the book and said somethings, his breath shaking.
And in a second, the ground shook, he dropped the book and watched a might sight that shook him to the bones!
**********
Rosey had kept watch over him all night long, Kareem had offered to keep her company, but she refused, insisting he should go home.
The doctors had been with him for half a day and did not stop to take breaks.
She only had a smoothie, because Kareem insisted so much.
Tia had stayed at the hospital too, she was interested in what, whom they found.
The man's skin looked fresh, like he just blossomed.
Rosey was marvelled.
"How can someone live inside a flower?"She pondered, staring into the room of doctors, not willing to break her concentration.
She eventually slept off, at around two am, she slept roughly, her head wrongly positioned and causing her great discomfort.
She woke up to some chattering, she yawned and sat up, her hand rested on her neck in discomfort.
She slowly recollected the event from a day ago.
She sprung up from her seat, hoping to still see the man there.
She looked into the room, to find him there, still asleep.
He looked so peaceful, she sighed a deep sigh of relief.
"It's not like he has anywhere to go"she said in realization.
A doctor came in.
"He's perfectly stable Miss Red"The doctor said.
Rosey Red, infamous Archeologist, and the daughter of a very wealthy man in the country, the first citizen for that matter.
"Your father called last night"The doctor said, she scoffed at that.
"I hope I did not cause Mr President any harm?"she sacastically asked.
"He threatened to shut down this hospital if I didn't hand the phone over to you"the doctor explained.
"How long till the patient wakes up?"Rosey inquired and glanced at the man.
"We cannot tell because we don't know how long he's been asleep"The doctor said.
"But tell me, I don't think it's humanely possible for any human being to survive in a plant"Rosey said.
The doctor placed his hand on his chin, deep in thoughts.
"I have tried countless theories, but none seem to answer your question talk less of the press!"The doctor said.
"The press!"Rosey exclaimed, startling the doctor.
"Why would you involve them?"Rosey asked.
"This isn't your first time, you're a renowned archeologist for crying out loud Miss Red.
You know such discoveries are to be showcased to the world"The doctor said.
"But this is a person! I think that exposing him would not help matters"Rosey said.
"I've already consented to the press meeting scheduled tomorrow"The doctor said helplessly.
Rosey widened her eyes in shock.
"Who called for it?"she asked, trying not to yell and wake the man.
"It was your team Miss Red"the doctor said.
"When did they arrive at that conclusion!"she demanded to know.
"It's already been decided Miss Red"The doctor said.
"I believe Mr President has taken an interest in this discovery"the doctor said, and a nurse came in.
"Doctor a patient needs you!"the nurse shrieked.
The doctor ran out of the room to attend to the next patient.
Rosey was angry, she wasn't just angry because he was a person, who wasn't just some artifact to be showcased.
But because she wouldn't get a chance to examine him as well and get to know about him.
Her father would take over him and hand him over to his people.
The people would only know what her father would want them to know.
She gritted her teeth in anger, she would not let her father take all the credit for anything again.
She looked at the man on the bed and a thought crossed her mind.
************
"Mr President"The doctor said, all other doctors and hospital workers were all lined up.
"Where is my daughter?"he demanded, and the doctor cringed.
"She has left sir"he said, Mr Red said something under his breath.
"Take me to this discovery"The president said in a cold manner, sending fear down the spines of all around.
His security detail were enough to intimidate anyone.
"Mr President...we have already moved the body"The doctor fearfully said.
"What?"He asked, and tilted his head to the side.
"Sir...Mr...Mr President, we received an email that instructed us to move the patient to a hospital in the south"the doctor said.
"What made you think that the email was from me?"The president asked, his face squeezed at their incompetence.
The doctor froze.
But he could even pass a reply, the president had already stormed out of the hospital, his bodyguards following closely.
The doctors all feared for their dear life.
An ambulance had come to pick up the body earlier that day.
"But if the president did not ask for the body to be moved, then where is the body?"The doctor asked frightfully.
***********
Rosey placed her phone on silent, not willing to answer any incoming call.
A cap covered a good portion of her face, she had changed into white clothing.
She ditched the ambulance in an alley and transported the body to her car bunker with great difficulty.
The cap fell from her head, her roughly packed up hair fell unto her shoulders.
She got inside the car, rolled up the windows and drove away without getting too much attention to herself.
She drove fast but carefully, she had to get the body more oxygen and get him to a secured place.
She thought while driving.
"I have just the place"she said to herself and made a U-turn.
***********
She dragged the body out of the car bunker and into the cabin.
It was in the woods, she had driven for some four hours.
It was modest and fairly modernized.
She put good money into maintaining her little secret cabin.
She originally wanted to live in the cabin, but her father insisted that she lived close to him, which she detested.
But now, the cabin seemed like a safe haven to her.
She was fortunate to have left a key inside a vase of Lilly's.
She opened the door and pushed the man into the sofa.
She stopped for breath.
"I never thought I'd be here ever"she said and went inside to wash up.
She was fortunate she did some shopping for herself two years back.
"I wonder if those clothes will still be a perfect fit"she thought.
Considering how much weight she had lost over the past two years, due to her job.
She was smart enough to keep the house with enough food Incase she ever needed to live in her cabin.
In Evey three months she changed the food supply.
It did seem like a wastage of food back then, but now,she was grateful she did what she did.
************
She had changed clothes, but the man had not still waken up.
She tied him to a chair, she didn't know how he would react once he wakes up.
She picked up the book, and tried to skim the surface, but it all looked like jibbberish.
"This is pointless, and frustrating! Stop making me suffer and wake up!"she said, almost screaming her head off.
The man moved, she was certain he did, she saw him move.
He did it once more.
He moved his neck from side to side, she got out of the chair and arranged her hair in a rough bun.
She stood in front of him, her hands folded across her chest, awaiting him to wake up.
He slowly moved his lips, and she watched to know if he would speak.
"Water...."he said faintly in the most intimate tone of voice she had ever heard.
