Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 "Home Sweet Home"

All of Lydia's friend went away to college, meanwhile, Lydia was stuck at home taking care of a

newborn baby. Marquez parents were very disappointed in him and they made him marry Lydia

once they found out that she was pregnant. They did not have a wedding, instead they went to the

Justice of the Peace, and eloped. Only their parents and a couple of close friends attended their

little ceremony. Lydia's parents refused to pay for a wedding since they did not think that she

should be giving birth and getting married at eighteen. But Lydia did not care how her parents felt

or what they thought one bit. Lydia has always been a selfish person and only cared about her own

feelings and thoughts. But Marquez was madly in love with Lydia. She was the most beautiful

woman in the world to him. There is nothing he would not do for his beautiful wife. There is

nothing he would not give to his wife. To him, she could do no wrong. Therefore, he catered to his

wife and went along with whatever crazy, and whimsical ideas that she had.

There definitely wasn't a honeymoon in the picture. But at least Marquez's parents had a little bit of

compassion and treated everyone to a nice lunch at one of the finest and most expensive

restaurants in town.

Marquez Senior was a fine Noble Englishman from Great Britain. He was a world renown Plastic

Surgeon and made quite a fortune catering to the rich and famous all over the world. Many of his

patients came from Celebrities in Hollywood, California. He developed a "Fountain of Youth,"

serum that was used by the upper Eschealon of society. Being that most of his customers came

from Hollywood, he eventually set up shop in Beverly Hills, California.

He was sought after for his European techniques in Cosmetic surgery and spent quite a bit of time

abroad. On one of many trips abroad, he met his wife Natasha Trellis at a Theater in Paris. Natasha

Trellis was an African Goddess who lit up the stage with her unparalleled beauty, charm and grace.

She was one of the most talented ballet dancers that the world had ever seen. One look, and

Marquez Senior was in love. He courted Natasha mercilessly, on some stalker- like shit, vowing to

make her his. Once he found out where she lived, after following her home from the Theater one

evening, He sent her Dozens of roses every day.

He bought her endless gifts of Belgium chocolates, diamonds, pearls, and French perfume. He

even bought her some kinky lingerie and of course some edible lingerie made out of licorice.

Despite the fact that he wasn't a really good singer and his voice was hideously raspy, every night,

he would stand outside her balcony with an Acoustic guitar and serenade her into the wee hours of

the night. Or until someone called the po po on him for "Disturbing the Peace." Natasha fell in love

with the crazy white man and his crazy antics. She left the stage, in pursuit of happiness to marry

him.

Marquez Jr.'s or as every one called him "Mark," father agreed to pay his college tuition, but Mark

had to find a job to support his new wife and newborn baby. Mark was always gone. Between

working, going to school and studying at the library, that did not leave much time to spend with his

new wife.

Lydia spent most of her time alone with her son Marquez, whom she simply called "Max." They

lived in a small, two-bedroom, shabby, cheap apartment. The ceiling had cracks and brown shit that

ran down the walls. The walls had plenty of cracks and paint peeling off of them. The whole

apartment smelled like, Must, mildew, fish and outback, rigor booty. Lydia kept an endless supply

of Febreeze and Oust to tolerate the nasty smell that she was not accustom to. The floors had

holes in it and sometimes she would catch a dude standing on a ladder, peeking through the holes

while she took a shit on the toilet.

The windows had some brownish, grayish crud on them, with a yellowish, vomit looking crust

around the frame, that she could never get clean no matter how much she scraped and scrubbed

them. She eventually just gave up and bought some cheap curtains from Dollar tree to cover them

up. A great portion of their finances were used on buying diapers and rent. There wasn't anything

left over for furniture or anything luxurious like that. "Thank God for W.I.C!" or God knows how

they would be able to afford to feed their son. Lydia and Mark slept on a bed they made out of a

mattress and four milk crates. Lydia did have a baby shower, So Max at least had a crib to sleep in.

The window in their bedroom had a piece of the window pane missing so Lydia had to get some

Gorilla tape and a garbage bag to cover the hole in order to keep the draft from blowing in

through the hole.

The neighborhood was in a seedy part of town that was referred to as "The Hood." They lived right

next door to "Craig, the crackhead," who was always trying to sell them packs of meat that he stole

from the grocery store. On the other side of them, there lived a stripper with long, pink hair that

went all the way down to her butt, and long fake nails that looked like Talons, named Sheila who's

stripper name was "Caress." Sheila brought home and banged a different dude every night. The

walls were paper thin, so not only did you hear the bed banging against the wall, while Sheila

entertained her guest, but you also heard the men grunting and moaning. You always knew when

the dude was cumming and when they were finish because Sheila would always scream really loud

and say "Hey my nigga, before you dress, caress! haaay."

It wasn't the best environment to live and raise a child, but this was the only place they could

afford, for now. So for the three of them, it was home sweet home.
