Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 "The Color Of Honey"

Lydia left the restaurant feeling some type of way. She was too embarrassed, to say the least. but there was nothing she could do about her situation; this was her life for now. Mark promised her that things would get better once he graduated from Medical school. But how long was that going to be? Lydia was ready to live the "Good Life," right now! And to make matters worse, she had to stay home and take care of a useless toddler.

Max was 3yrs old now and kept getting into things. Lydia constantly had to keep an eye on him so that he wouldn't destroy everything in his way. "I hate these horrible threes." Lydia was thinking these things out loud. "It's bad enough I had to deal with the terrible twos but I really hate these horrible threes."

The only good thing was that Lydia's parents had started taking a liking to Max. They always wanted Max to come over and visit and sometimes they would keep Max overnight so that gave Lydia a small break every now and again. Her parents refused to acknowledge Max for the first couple of years. But as time went on, they came to love and adore Max. They even started doting on him and spoiling him uncontrollably.

Well, Max was a little cutie and such a good baby. He was an absolute sweetheart. Stinking adorable! So, it really couldn't be helped that he would become the apple of his grandparents' eye. Mark's parents only dealt with Max on holidays. They never volunteered to keep Max that often. And it wasn't because they did not like Max, on the contrary, they loved him very much. He was such a cute baby and seem to be a very bright little thing. It's just they had a lot of disdain for Max's mother. In fact, they did not care for Lydia one bit. It was her attitude that did it for them.

Lydia was a horrible mother and cruel person in general. Lydia act like the world owed her something. Who the hell did she think she was, Queen Nefertiti?

She was a queen alright.

"The queen of Bitches!"

Mark loved Lydia. She was his whole world. Mark doted on his wife Lydia and gave her everything she wanted. But Mark's parents couldn't stand Lydia! They tolerated her for Mark's sake because they loved their son. But they absolutely could not stand her ass.

Needless to say, and also sad to say, Mark's parents had very little to do with Lydia and unfortunately that included Max. They were very proud grandparents. Max's intelligence surpassed the normal 3y old child. On every occasion, when they had a conversation with Max, his vocabulary was so vast that they would instantly think that they were having a chat with a 30 yr. old grown man and forget that they were actually conversing with a 3yr old toddler. And that always made them smile. In fact, if they could see and play with that little smart guy and not deal with his ignorant ass mammy, they would have Max all the time.

Max had all kinds of neat toys and gifts from both sets of grandparents. Lydia and Mark didn't really get a whole lot of financial support from their parents so they had to make their own way most of the time. Lydia did get some nice Christmas gifts from her In-laws.

For Mother's Day this year, her mother in-law took her shopping at an expensive Mall in Beverly Hills. Lydia was able to get some expensive cosmetics and decent perfume, which she hadn't been able to get in a few years. Actually, Lydia stopped getting expensive cosmetics, designer clothes, designer shoes and expensive perfumes once she gave birth to Max.

Lydia's parents cut off all financial assistance.

They did eventually start helping out with expenses for Max. They started out buying diapers and baby formula when he ran out. Lydia had to cry like a baby and show receipts to prove that she had spent all of the money on rent and bills in order to get the money for diapers and formula. But her parents weren't totally heartless towards her. If she needed something for her baby and she absolutely did not have the means to get it, her parents would step up and supply Max's needs.

In fact, Max is the only reason Lydia got any little bit of help at all. Her parents let her know that they were sorely disappointed in her. Not because she had a baby, nor was it because she got married. They were very disappointed in how scandalous she was and only got pregnant to get a man to take care of her.

They let her know that they were embarrassed that they had raised a child who would be so shameless and ratchet!

No one wants their child to grow up and do evil shit to other people!!!!

They were positively ashamed of that girl!

Well...What did she expect to happen?

But Max....

Lydia was walking down the street and bumped into her new neighbor, the sexy dark chocolate, Damarcus Johnson PHD. He moved in a few weeks ago and Lydia ran into him one morning while taking out the trash. What she saw that morning made her stop in her tracks.

Where did this tall, drink of water come from? With his smooth mahogany skin, hazel eyes that a woman can fall deep into an Abyss if she looked into his eyes too long. Long thick curly lashes accentuated the beauty of his

eyes. And those lips! Oh my God, those lips. "I wonder if he's a good kisser with those plump, firm lips that reminded her of the color of golden honey?" Lydia wondered to herself.
