The medical bay was empty excluding a few of the automata that staffed it, primarily a precaution for our biological allies- this place was predominantly unused.
As I rushed in, the medical staff jumped in surprise- I rushed in with the body of that Lesser Angel in hand, their small body barely fitting in my arms as they rested within. A smile was on my face, as I became quite unreasonably excited thinking about the potential of this young one.
"Healing Magic- NOW!" I yelled out, ordering the Automata who jumped around and began working.
Two began rushing over, and forced their hands outwards with an orange glow- powerful healing Magic forced its way into the Angel's body and caused the immediate wounds to disappear.
Scanning its body over, there were some internal injuries that it must have sustained over a long period… an arrow from a bow lingers, stuck within its spine- it fractions points of the bone, being an arrow with a miniature spike for its tip
I extended my Void Energy, and carefully pushed it into the body through a needle-sized hole that remained in its back.
The Black sludge serpentined its way around the spine and consumed the arrow in brief moments of nervousness. I'm overexerting myself again, and I feel my arm melting once more- but, it's worth it.
Healing Magic assisted my work, as I pulled away the fragments of metal and stone bit by bit with Void and Ulma- the true nature of this creature was also revealed.
It had no regenerative ability to speak of, unlike normal angels. Its cells were solid and determined, much like a plant or living sludge. The Angel layed there, asleep on the solid gray table that was now stained gold with its ichor.
It smelt of Blood, Brimstone, and Sulfur. Not atypical of the children born in this endless war.
"I'm sorry, young one. Maybe in another life, this fate could have been prevented." I mumbled to myself, gripping its small hand on my own.
A Medical Automaton gripped my side with their small hand, pulling my attention. "...U-umm… excuse me my Lord, but… what's going on?"
"This Angel of Order retains free will, and is only of lesser tier," I replied with a smile on my face.
"O-oh! Oh my! Shall I alert the Commander?!" The automaton excitedly yelled, lifting its hand to its ear. I simply nodded my head in response and waited for Scarab to join me.
I've heard 'Rogue' Angels are a thing, where they are somehow disconnected from the Angels of Order… but it hasn't been since Samuel have I actually seen any Angel having freedom of will.
Samuel… huh, I wonder how he is doing…
I need to check in on everything again- the prison probably needs to be fixed up, and I have to deal with Hell not having Umbra anymore… god, I hope whoever the new ruler is will be reasonable and not an idiot caught up in his own foolish set of ideals born of ignorance.
"..a-ah…."
It- just spoke!
"Young one-" I whispered to the Angel "Can you hear me-?"
"A…ah…vry.."
Checking it's pulse and the rest of this Body… my god, a miracle… it's living, and not just that- it has regained its regeneration!
I shuffled it around a bit, trying to get it to lay more comfortably on the medical bed. As I did, a small- red disc fell from it's pocket.
"...Un…cle…" The Angel said as I held up the disc.
"Uncle…? Is this from your un-" I asked, but as I looked back at it- the Angel was pointing at me.
"I…I'm your uncle?"
It nodded.
"Then…" I mumbled, holding the red disc up in my hand.
It's red glimmer reminded me of something… what… What was this material?
A flash hit my eyes- black light engulfed me in a fog, a familiar voice rang out- as I saw the soft red glow of a familiar blade illuminate the blackness. The echoing pattern of the light gray robes flowing in the wind, the crazed smile on him-
"C'mon- show me a good time!"
And stood before me, Samuel the Greater Angel
His blade, the Legendary Murasuma, pointed towards me.
