Chapter 20 - Chapter 8.2: Escape

"The Torture Devils?" Said Akito to himself while holding his brother. Screaming, Satoshi demanded his brother to place him down on the ground. "Oi, just let go of me already!" Cried Satoshi while violently shaking himself around. "Hey, calm down." Said Akito as he kept on looking towards the five figures. "These guys, they're strong." He uttered to himself as he jumped off and away from the group.

While on the run to escape from the Devils. As a precaution, he activates his mana flow and enchants "Gravity Magic, Gravity armor."

Gravity Armor is a personal magical defense spell. It allows Akito to create a thin layer of gravity around his whole body. The gravity armor surrounding his body is said to be as strong as earth's gravity. It acts as armor and slows down projectiles thrown at him, but anything that can travel as fast as the escape velocity needed to escape earth's gravity will also be able to break through the armor.

"Shit, I can't seem to shake them off," Akito said as he kept on thinking of a way to escape the pursuing danger.

"It is useless, master blue." Said a figure as he quickly sprouted behind the running Akito. He swung his arm and managed to punch Akito on the side of his head, immediately rendering the gravity armor useless and therefore wearing it out. While falling, he couldn't comprehend what had happened to him and what caused him to fall. "Shit, I slipped?" Akito asked himself as he dropped to the ground. Setting aside his brother Akito stood up, cleaning the blood from his mouth. He felt a sudden pain on the side of his skull. "Blood?" He saw it running down the side of his cheek. "He's fast," he said to himself. Then suddenly, an overwhelming shock wave knocked him away and also caused considerable collateral damages. Angered, Akito cried in sympathy for the injured, "why? Innocent people?" He stated as he slowly raised his planted face from the ground. "Well, now the fun begins." Said another clothed figure as her laugh rose, "Haha, what a pity." She uttered as she stared toward Akito.

"Soul invasion," she announced before her movements stood still. "Hmm? she already performed her magical ability." So declared a figure standing to the far right from her. "She rushed into his subconscious realm without thinking of what lies, slumbering within this child." said another figure standing next to her. "This magical ability sure is handy, but also a gamble to use on opponents that might possess a significant amount of spiritual aura." So informed another figure that was standing to her left.

Akito, in a daze, started to lose consciousness and his face fell coldly onto the solid ground. Waking up slowly, Satoshi looked over to his brother and repeatedly to the sinister aura pressure he felt. "Who are they?" He said as he kept his eyes on them, not flinching. Finally, he walked over to his brother, "Hey, pig. Are you okay? I need you right now," whispered Satoshi to his unconscious brother before realizing. "Damn, he's not budging at all. What's wrong with him?" He nervously thought to himself before he heard a figure speak.

A deep voice, sinister in every way, said, "do not worry yourself, human. He is but only a mere sacrifice. If you leave and forget about this, we will allow you to live a cowardly life." Infuriated, Satoshi kept his eyes on the tall figure, "what's with him?" Satoshi whispered to himself, helpless he kept on looking down at his brother's face.

Waking up into the dark realm, Akito felt a dense presence to the east. He jerked up forward and walked towards the aura that was sending such pressure waves. "What's with this feeling?" He said to himself as two huge eyes arose from the darkness. And behind him stood a clothed woman. Feeling her presence Akito jerked back and grasped away her cloth, revealing a beautiful horned, woman-like being.

"Who are you?" asked Akito while blushing.

"This presence, it's so limitless that every nerve of my body can feel it. Shivering every single cell, I can feel its hatred towards me, no, towards the world!" So she thought to herself as her eyes widened. The sheer pressure of the god sent her down to her knees.

"Huh? What just happened to her?" Said Akito as he looked behind him. The eyes of the god became more apparent. Blue like the sky but striking fear into the soul of anyone who dared to make contact with them, Akito remained still. Then, staring into them, he saw a vision of the same eyes staring at him.

"How is he still standing?" She spoke to herself as the pressure thickened. "I need to leave," she barely made out of her mouth as she flapped into the ground flat.

Akito managed to break contact with the eyes and look back at the horned woman, picking her up, and against all the odds of the immense pressure, it seemed relatively easy for him to do. Running, he defied the god, which angered him and caused him to roar. "What are you making of this action? I was going to get rid of her from your mind, boy!"

Conscious, but in a daze, the beautiful witch looked up at Akito's face, almost in an admiring way. Then, measuring up the strength, she left the subconscious realm almost immediately and vanished from Akito's arms. "Where did she go?" He asked himself as he quickly rose from the ground in the real world. "Oh, I'm back?" He said as he looked over to his brother.

Relieved, Satoshi uttered, "Oh, thank god you're okay. Now do something about them." But Satoshi's demand was met by a refusal from Akito, "they're too strong. We need to get away from them as quickly as possible." He whispered to his brother. "How are you holding up against this massive dark aura?" He asked Satoshi but was immediately shut off by the woman, waking up as she fell onto one knee and groaned in pain. Then, looking at Akito, she answered his previous question, "My name is Zelda."

She slowly opened up and explained. "I have no real memory of myself other than being presented in front of my master. It is quite the deal to be standing against you, Master of the Blue Flame." She slowly got back up to her feet.

"Going soft?" Asked the far-right standing figure from Zelda. "You seem to be in realization of his true potential." So said the figure to the left. "I directed you not to move in a fume. You will be severely tortured for this and for leaking your privacy to an enemy." said the tall figure who seemed to be in command of the Torture Devils.

Annoyed by her group, she announced. "Well, I will be taking my leave from this mission."

"Go ahead, will follow after we give him a taste of torture." Said the leader as he stepped forward towards Akito, causing the ground to crumble beneath his feet.

The group of clothed devils started walking towards Akito, evil pouring from every pore in their bodies. They vanished and appeared behind the pair, catching them off guard. Akito was punched and launched a couple of meters away. Satoshi got held down, and it seemed as if the aggressor cast a sleeping spell on him, which immediately knocked him out.

"Now for the real show," said one of the group members while he enchanted: "Accursed Stage One Room," is a dimensional gap that exists in the void between the worlds. Able to be summoned by only one of the group members. Bestowed upon him by their leader, The Red Flame Master, Akito's "brother."

Akito started to float in a purplish-dark haze that engulfed the planet-like room, then suddenly he felt a tug all around his body and noticed that he was being pulled away and strapped into a chair by multiple arms. Terrifying and inhuman, the arms started retracting to their original place of what seemed to be a door. Sitting in the chair, Akito was unable to break free, pissed. He looked up at the group and found only four of them standing there, their arms crossed. The tall figure progressed to inform the rest. "Shall we begin?" He said confidently.

Reaching behind his long coat, he pulled out what seemed to be a nail of some sort. Flicking the nail at him, it struck and pierced through his index finger. "Ahh." he groaned in pain. Then he pulled another and flicked it towards his chest this time, managing to pierce to the head of the nail. Finally, another devil pulled out a whip and a bat-like staff with sharp razors all around.

The Devil with the whip started walking towards Akito while swinging his whipped weapon towards him. It struck Akito across the face, leaving a massive gash of blood behind. "I have a question for you," he said as he retracted his weapon. "Who granted you mana?" he said as he swung wildly this time, striking and slicing Akito all over.

While screaming in pain, through the wild whips of the Devil, Akito spouted, "I don't know!"

Then, listening to Akito's cries, the leader started to sink into his thoughts. "Enhancing the whip with dark energy is quite useful. It is almost like landing the hit twice."

"Stop!" screamed Akito into the void. Surprisingly, the Devil did as told and stepped back from Akito and into his original stance. "Go ahead," he informed the lower-ranked Devil next to him.

Picking up the bat, he placed it onto his shoulder and proposed a question. "What purpose does this granted mana serve?"

He swung endlessly with his bat and struck Akito on the side of his face. For every hit, the bat will only feed off of the negative emotions.

"Ohh, one hit and my weapon has feasted off this much energy from you?" He asked the dangling head of Akito. "It hurts, you know," said Akito while looking up and smiling at the Devil. "I don't, but this weapon will keep feeding off the energy released from you. These razors serve a purpose: to slice and connect its imbued dark energy with the target and draw negative emotions that flow within his body. Later on, these negative collections of thought turn into their original state, dark energy. But if the target can emit dark energy, well then that's a plus, just as in your case." He said while laughing, swinging his bat. He struck Akito multiple times, leaving his body torn apart, sliced and diced, pieces of Akito fell to the ground, and the Devil laughed in excitement until the leader stopped him. "That's enough," he spoke as he instructed the low rank to step aside. "You two took the lead, once again. You two will be punished for this!" Declared the leader to the two calmly.

Nervous, the two started sweating uncontrollably while apologizing. "Please, pardon our trespasses." The two spoke as they bowed their heads to their leader. Walking in the direction of Akito, he explained. "Young man, we hold no grudge against you, but let this be a lesson." He said as he informed the summoner to deactivate the magical realm. Holding onto Akito's body, he spoke. "We are only here to follow instructions." His feet made contact with the earth's surface. Surrounded by injured people, he laughed and placed down Akito's torn-out body. "Let this be a teaching for you to understand, torture." He said boldly while facing his group. "Let us…" He tried telling his group before he was shut still by an uncontrollable presence. "What is this pressure?" He said to himself as he looked back down to Akito, only to find him standing, looking straight into the ground.

While this took place, Akito was standing inside the subconscious realm, where he felt a powerful touch on his back. The god, his talon, was touching Akito. Transferring a small amount of his power, he said, "This time, I'll assist you, my only vessel." The massive boost knocks him back to consciousness. "What just happened?" He asked of his dumb self. Feeling an enormous power boost, he looked at his healed body and wondered.
