Chapter 14 - Chapter Final 6.1: The Grasp for Control

Akito sat in silence in his room for the two he had killed today. Then, praying in silence to the God of Love, a vision came to him. Image of a world different from Earth in every aspect, and a house, rather a castle, stood next to a beautiful lake. It drew his senses. He felt a sense of belonging to the place. He felt at peace as he stood there, taking in the fresh breeze. Then, suddenly, the air thickened, the sky became shadowy black, and a figure of hatred stood by the destroyed villa.

Scared, Akito woke up. In the morning, he attended to his usual routine and left the house in a hurry as usual. Meeting up with the two as he always does, they walked to their club room, this time to be greeted by Satoshi, who was reading a book. Able to reach Satoshi, Kauzto convinced him to help Akito in his quest to find an answer about magic. During their morning meeting, they spoke about the idea of magic and its use in old data records. After finding nothing, the bell rang, and the four went to their classes.

After school, the club called for a meeting in which they would open up their shipment of boxes they received from online orders and requests to the faculty room. Excited, Akito began shuffling through the small boxes first, hoping to unbox all of the small boxes. Ripping through the boxes and packages, he finally had found all the books they had ordered. In excitement, he jumped and said, "finally, there here." The rest looked at him with a smile and a burst of laughter, even more. His excitement grew as he ran to the table and took a seat, and began reading through the first book titled. "The Book of Magic." While reading through it, he stumbled across a bit of information that theorized what magic is.

"Magic is the power to manipulate natural forces and the supernatural." This sentence was the only line to draw his attention. Serious Akito stood and informed the party that he was heading home. On his walk home, he began thinking back, seeing glimpses of the fight. He remembered that he used a natural force, "gravity manipulation" he scratched his chin, "that's all I remember saying, then a tide of gravity. Started to pin down the Devil." Akito then walked to an empty section in the park and dropped down his side bag next to a tree. "Mmm, I remember that I drew my hands closer together and said." As he drew both his hands closer together, and then he shoved both his hands down simultaneously while enchanting "gravitational manipulation, gravitational tide." Yet, nothing appeared to happen. "Huh?" he thought to himself, "why isn't it working now?'' He dropped his stance and began to do it again. Midway through the act, he was caught off guard by Yui. "Hey." She tried shouting before she was stopped by the scream from Akito, "Ahh, damn it, you scared the ghost out of me," he said while holding his chest. "Ouf." as he expressed his frustration with a shocked look as he turned around and thought to himself, "she saw me, didn't she?" He began crying for his lost dignity.

He waved and said, "Yui, hey, you didn't happen to see anything, did you?" He nervously smiled and scratched the back of his. "See what? That stance you were in? Or the way you were clenching your butt cheeks?" She said while laughing at him. "Damn it. There goes my pride." He said to himself while highly embarrassed. Then, as he was mourning for himself, a question caught him off guard. "Are you trying to use those powers again?" Yui asked. "I was. I'm scared of myself. But if I learn to control my powers, maybe then I can use them to save you guys." He said while frowning with a sad look. "That's just it, Akito, your powers aren't to be afraid of. You already have saved us, and now you need to save yourself from your strength. Do not let it use your kindness, but use your kindness to guide your powers." She said while she handed him a rice ball. "Yui," he said while tiny tears shimmered in his blue eyes. He then reached and grabbed the rice ball and took a seat next to his bag. "You know Yui, I'm certain that these powers are related to magic and that mana force, but I also feel like there is this huge power slumbering within me." He looked up to her as she took a seat beside him. "I don't know what it is, but I feel at safety within your proximity, whatever that power is of yours. I'm in debt to it. After all, both you and the unconscious you saved my life." She said while taking a bite from her rice ball. Happy and at ease, Akito asked her, "Yui, please describe that day to me again, sorry, just one more time. I need to know how I looked and what I did." He said with a determined look.

After the lengthy explanation from Yui, Akito stood up once again and said, "for you, for Kazuto, for Satoshi, and my family. I will succeed." With a determined look, he got up and stepped away from Yui. He felt his senses, reactions, combat knowledge, and magical use coming to effect. He began feeling his powers climb. He stood still and began to see the light creep into the darkness within his mind. He was once again in the subconscious realm. "What is this place?" he said to himself while holding his chest, "who am I, and why do I feel so empty?" he said in a low tone. His grip on his chest tightened as he felt a valuable piece was stolen from him. He closed his non-physical eyes shut, and a figure began to appear, standing atop of him with a sword driven into his heart. He watched as this hateful figure drew his powers away from him. The figure began to smirk, causing Akito to open his non-physical eyes. "I'm still here," he said as he started to walk around the never-ending darkness. "Anyone here," he shouted as he walked along.

"Wait, why am I looking for someone?" he questioned himself with a dumbfounded look. "Well, whatever. How do I get out of here anyway?" he said out loud. Then, suddenly, a mighty voice spoke, "oh, so your back? My son, have you come to surrender what's rightfully mine?" Then the powerful voice roared. The roar was so mighty and intense that it would deafen the ears of all who heard it. "Hand what over?" said Akito as he slowly looked up. "What exactly do you think you are?" He said confidently. Suddenly a colossal talon came huddling down from the vast darkness, yet, missing Akito as he had anticipated it. "I am God." roared the mighty voice in anger. "I am your God, and you are nothing but a vessel. My holy vessel that is." The powerful voice said as the subconscious world began to shake. Causing Akito to lose all the confidence he had built up, waking up in the real world, he forced his eyes open while absurdly sweating.

"Ah," he exclaimed in exhaustion. "God had a talon?" he questioned himself as sweat dripped from his forehead. "So, were you able to use it?" asked Yui as she walked up to his face. Blushing, he turned away and lifted both his hands next to his chest, trying to keep his distance between them. He then nervously answered as he backed up from her, "no, something blocked me from taking control." He said while walking towards his side bag. "What was it?" asked Yui. His response was uncertain, "I don't know, I only felt darkness around this voice in my head." he said as he pulled out a water bottle from his bag. Though having to go through all of this, Akito stayed determined about controlling himself and his immense powers. "So, I just need to wake up from my subconscious when I tap into my mana?" he questioned himself as he sat down and laid back.

Completely lost in his thoughts, Akito couldn't hear what Yui said to him as she walked away. He looked over to her, walking away, and didn't think anything of it. He slowly slipped away from reality. His consciousness slowly sank into the subconscious realm once again. Unaware, he opened his eyes only to find himself in that dark sensation, he looked down, and he was the only thing shining, like a light in a dark hole. He began drowning in the darkness. His senses became useless as he heard the mighty voice speak about him.

"You had to suffer more than anyone." roared the mighty voice in anger. "You lost more than anyone combined in this useless dimensional world," God said as the boy slowly faded into the darkness around him. "The world shunned you. The world you called home looked down upon as a destructive force. You were a mere tool for the gods." He roared as he opened his colossal talon to allow the boy to rest on his claws firmly. "Betrayed by the one you love, your power harnessed for the destruction it holds. Your brother killed you for what he couldn't have." He slowly said as smoke slowly covered the boy. "Succumb to my power, give me your body, your dreams, your will, and I will accomplish all that set in motion." He said as he blew away the smoke from his talon. Seeing that the boy had vanished from the spot he was angered, slamming his massive claw to the ground caused the subconscious world to shake non-stop. Akito, enraged by the word of the "God," stood still, looking up at the enormous invisible figure. It slowly opened its eyes simultaneously with Akito. Staring each other in the eyes, Akito pointed both his arms at him. Then he thrust both arms down with incredible strength. He controlled a massive gravitational tide to come along with his arms, pinning down God. Akito softly spoke, "my body, will, and dreams? To someone as weak as you?"

"I see, as stubborn as always, are we now, Akito?" he said as he chuckled while his eyes elevated, indicating that he stood up with ease. He broke the magical attack and spoke, "Listen, boy. We are both just a husk of our former selves." he laughed, causing the world to shake. He closed his beautiful blue eyes and said. "I will let you have it your way for now. I want to see you crumble along with this useless world." he spoke once more, "I will now watch your story unfold for this life and your hatred as it grows."

Akito woke up in the real world, energy radiating from his body. He felt as if he could do anything. Excited, he stood up and jumped onto a tree branch, happy he laughed in excitement. Knowing that he conquered the "God" that kept him at bay, he said, "now I can protect my loved ones." as a tear dripped down his face. After some time, he jumped down from the tree and looked down at his hands, and with an intention, he deactivated the magical energy. Unsure, he questioned himself, "how do I know all of this?" as ideas about battles and the use of his magical powers called "Gravitational manipulation" came to him. Understanding every strategy and form that came with these powers, he questioned himself, "who am I?" confused, he pondered in his head, but it seemed that it wasn't for long, he spotted a redheaded figure watching him from afar. Scared about his powers getting exposed, he ran towards them while screaming. "Hey, what are you doing over here? And who are you?"
