Aace began his rule by solving disputes within Grand Capital. He would dine with the commoners and drink with sailors. He would brawl with the brutes and gamble with the gamblers. But a strange feeling would draw him towards the keep, towards the sword.
The first of its sin was gluttony. He went into the city spending enormous amounts of money to have a grand feast. He then ate himself full and then some more. Then he drank until the night turned to day. He awoke mid afternoon, hungover and nauseous.
The sword then beckoned again. His next sin was sloth. Numerous disputes and fights were started in the city, but Aace was nowhere to me found. He was asleep in his chambers and ordered his guards to defend him until he said otherwise. It went on for a week.
The sword then beckoned again. His new sin was lust. Aace's nature finally began to break through. But he could not control his actions. He bed many women, but out of fear he killed them. Then he fell in love again. The woman resembled his wife Elinar he lost to Hannibal thirty years ago. He snuck her around the Keep as to keep her from being seen and rumors spread. Anyone who spoke against it was found dead a week after. He then bed her, and she became pregnant. Fearing he could hurt her, he sent her and her family to Sillsing where she could safely take care of his child. He refused to name the child, opting to keep himself far from him. One of the guards began talking amongst his troop of the kings infidelity, and Aace executed him for treason.
The sword then beckoned again. His next sin was envy. He began to become jealous if he was not included. He was envious of married men and happy families. Then he had his elite guards kill a family in the night, disposing of all evidence. He knew he was doing wrong, but could not control his behavior.
The sword then beckoned again. He became suspicious of its draw, it had never spoken before. Then, he found it. It was not him it was the Feathered Dagger. The evil within it spoke through the sword and twisted Aace's actions. Aace tried to unsheathe the sword and destroy the dagger, but he could not pull it out. The Dagger beckoned for him to take it, it promised limitless power and eternal life, but Aace refused. Over the next year the Dagger would keep tempting him, causing him to fall to its sin from time to time. He called in Lord John to do research on the Dagger. The only notable thing about it was that it was forged to be the opposite of freedom.
Lord Pierre made a stride into Grand Capital with a passion of freedom. He began to speak amongst the people, sowing seeds of distrust between them, because the most pure form of freedom, is chaos.
