Chapter 7 - The Swordsman's Dance

The five men rushed after Cromwell into the stronghold's main chamber. Cromwell's blade was as black as coal. They clashed, each King trying to land a blow, yet none were even close. Cromwell danced around them as he parried every incoming blow.

Mao then quickly went for an overhead swing, but Cromwell parried it and knocked Mao to the ground, rendering him unconscious.

Bonaparte then tried to dance around Cromwell and slice at his heels, but Cromwell's cunning nature allowed him to dodge and throw Bonaparte to the wall on the other side of the chamber.

Washington was confident he could best Cromwell. He dodged Cromwell's attacks and threw blows that would take a cow's head clean off. But Cromwell was faster than Washington, and he danced around him before allowing Washington to reel his shoulder back for a swing. He then sliced through Washington's arm, rendering it useless.

Only Plato and Titus remained, having been able to parry any incoming blows. Titus then stepped in and danced with Cromwell. His training with Bonaparte had lended him the upper hand, allowing him to trade blows with the evil king. Their blows connected as if it were night and day, but then Cromwell cut through Titus' sword as if where butter.

Quickly dodging Cromwell's thrust, Titus rolled out of the way. Plato then blew Cromwell back with a burst of magic. He charged his foe with a youthful vigour landing each strike with the strength of a mountain. But each strike drained him, and Cromwell seized his opportunity. He thrust his blade into Plato's chest, then ran out of the chamber, mounting his horse and riding away.

Titus quickly ran to Plato's side. "I will kill him, even if it's the last thing I do," he thought as he held Plato's deep wound.

"Take my sword, Titus. I won't be needing it any longer." Plato coughed as he pulled Titus close to him and gave him his final words: "Do not forget that you are the Man of Hope. Finnish the dagger and kill that bloody bastard."

As Plato's life left his eyes, the three kings came forward. They knelt down and gave their respects to their fallen brother.

Washington then turned to Titus and said,"Titus, he gave you that sword for a reason. I trust that reason was good. You are our last hope. If you are to be the Man of Hope, the first of the three souls, then stop the fighting downstairs before there's no one left to take home.

Titus sheathed The Wolf Sword and he took to the balcony of the tower. Titus yelled to the soldiers below him: "Please men, lay down your arms! Your king has left you to be slaughtered!" They then dropped their swords and surrendered Servinsrad to the three remaining Kings.

The men marched back to Grand Capital, tired and weary from their long battle. They quickly repaired the damages from the Cult's attack, and Titus went back to forging the Dagger. Mao and Bonaparte spent their time rebuilding their army, but Washington was awash with grief and took to the bottle.
