Shu looked in shock as he looked at the deserted village. "Maybe, it's not true." Shu said as he ran to the village as Isamu and Horus followed. Shu stopped as he walked into his house as he saw blood everywhere, his dead parents. Shu fell to the floor as he cried. Isamu looked in sorrow as he saw his past self in Shu. He saw Shu next to his loved one. 'How did it come to this.' Shu thought as he thought of his past.

A boy stood wearing a white shorts with a black shirt and sandals. He stood in front of another boy as he stood in a stance. "You think you can beat me. You can't even control your mana. You're the weakest in our village." The other boy said. "Shut up. I can beat you. My dad said as long as I believe I can do anything and I've learnt a new technique." The boy said. "Shu, you know what. Show me, I'll beat you." The other boy said as Shu roared as he punched a small fire blast that poofed out. "What a loser." The other boy said as he punched Shu with a lightning punch, sending him on the floor with a bruise and a bloody nose as everyone laughed at him. "What a loser. He can't do anything. They think he can be anything." They said as Shu ran with tears in his eyes to his home. He ran to a man wearing a standard mage uniform: white buttoned up jacket with a insignia of a crown with a staff and a black trousers, belted up. He also wore black shoes with white cuffs. "Dad." Shu said as he cried as the man let Shu go and gave him a half-sword with writings on it. "It belonged to my father and his father before him and now it's yours. Only the one who believes in their power to achieve their wishes. believing is harder than it sounds. No-one in our family has ever done it but I believe you can." His father said as Shu stopped crying and smiled as his mother came. "He's just a useless kid. He can't do anything." His mom said as Shu shouted, saying. "Yes I can." Shu said as he created a fire blast, making it bigger before it burnt him.
Shu woke up with his parents in front of him, wearing a metal suit. "Mom, dad." Shu said as his mom was in tears whilst his father was filled with sadness and disappointment. "Son, I only disbelieved in you because I couldn't watch you get hurt. You could have been killed." His mom said as she cried as his father left, saying. "You're not worthy of this sword." His father said as he showed the half-sword as he walked out of the door. Shu cried as he held his arm out to his father. "Father." Shu screamed but it was for naught as his father had lost all faith in him.
Hours later, Shu took all his belongings as he left the village as he looked at his village with sorrow as he ran away.

Shu stood as he walked to another room as he saw a letter that was written by his father with tear drops on it. "Son, I hope one day that me and you can meet so that I can apologize for what I did but in case it may never happen so this letter may tell you what I feel when you left. I just saw you fail and it made me feel that you weren't able to be a mage. It just broke me and I realized that I never tried to help you. I'm sorry, You may never forgive me so here you go. Your inheritance." It read as Shu saw the half-sword as he took it and held it. "Let's leave this place." Shu said as they walked as they looked around the deserted village before Shu saw a familiar face. "Kokomi, is that you." Shu said as he ran to a girl with indigo hair tied into a ponytail with a simple blue jacket with buttons and pink skirt with black boots. "Shu." Kokomi said in shock as Shu hugged her as he cried. "I thought everyone was dead but at least you're alive." Shu said as Kokomi looked in sorrow as Shu looked at her and saw her sorrow. "Let's go inside and I'll tell you." Kokomi said as she walked. "Can they come?" Shu said as Kokomi turned around to see Isamu and Horus. "My name is Isamu and this is my master, Horus." Isamu said as he pointed at Horus. "I guess so, friends of Shu are friends of mine." Kokomi said as they walked to her house. "Shu, I thought everyone thought you were a useless weakling." Isamu said as Shu smiled nervously. "No, not her. She believed in me. I felt sad leaving my only friend. I'll never forget how I met her." Shu said as he remembered how they met.
Flashback begins
A young girl got pushed by a group of boys into a wall. "Leave me alone. My parents are mage officers. That'll get you in trouble." The young girl said. "Shut up, you ratted on me." One of them said. "Hey, leave her alone." A boy said, standing on top of the wall. "It's Shu Mamoru. What do you want loser?" He said. "Leave her alone or you're gonna deal with me." Shu said as he then made a pose. "A future mage hero" Shu said as he then lost his balance and fell off the wall, hurting himself pretty badly. "What an idiot. Get him." They said as they kicked him. They then went to Kokomi. "Now, Kokomi, you're done-." He said as Shu stood up. Shu stood up with a black eye. "Hey, I'm not done yet." Shu said. "This is boring." The boy said as they then left. "They left, they must've got scared and ran." Shu said as he then felt stinging pain from his face. "Yeah, they didn't run because of that but thanks." Kokomi said. "I know, I can't do anything but every time I stand up, I think I can do it but I'm so useless. I'll never be a mage or a hero." Shu said as he started to cry. Kokomi then walked up to him with a tissue. "I believe in you." Kokomi said as Shu then grinned.
