A young Mizuki runs through Kori village to the village centre. "Okay newbies, you each have a mission."Said the mage leader. 'I hope this turns out good.' Mizuki thought as they went to the village by carriage of horses. "So we have to beat some bandits in Mihori Village. So, your name. I'm Homura, the one who will be the next fire grandmaster." Homura said. "A fire grandmaster." Mizuki said in confusion. "You don't know what a grandmaster is. It's the strongest user of an element. Each element has one grandmaster. I'm going to be one." Homura said in determination. "I'm a water mage, not a pretty good one. Everyone mocks me that I'm just weak" Mizuki said as he looked down. "So, your element is good if you're a good mage. Using your element in your own way, there's nothing more cool." Homura said, motivating Mizuki. "Yeah." Mizuki said in determination but he still had a hint of sadness.
At Mihori Village,
Mizuki and Homura reached Mihori village. A group of bandits were here. "Oi, you guys are causing trouble here." Homura said as he pointed at the bandits. "Hey, look it's a kid. Get lost or you're next." The bandits said as Homura ran to the bandits as he beat them up with a flurry of fire fists. But there was one huge and strong bandit, who was standing undamaged, picked up a huge black mace as he ran to Homura, smashing him and sending him into a wall, almost unconscious. Mizuki stood afraid as in pure fright, he fired a water pulse at the bandit, who simply blocked it with his mace as Mizuki ran as he cried. The bandit chased him into the wall. The bandit walked to Mizuki, who was simply afraid of the bandit as the bandit strikes Mizuki with his mace. "Giving up, are you." Homura said as he blocked it, crushing his left arm. "Let's go and show him our power. We can win, we're mages. Mages are heroes and heroes always win." Homura said as Mizuki clenched his fist and grit his teeth as he blasted a water pulse at the bandit's chest, injuring the bandit and sending him back. "Good one, Mizuki. Let's show him our magic power." Homura said as Homura and Mizuki then jump as they spin around one another as water and fire mana both intertwine as it surrounds Homura and Mizuki, who then kicks the bandit, sending him flying and knocking him out entirely. "Yeah, we did it." Homura said as he almost fainted before being kept standing by Mizuki. "Thank you, you're my hero." Mizuki said as he smiled and so did Homura before laughing for a while. A huge crowd of people came as they cheered as they chanted "Heroes".
Homura and Mizuki's reputation steadily rises after countless successful missions were completed, now known as the Elemental Tag-team.
Homura and Mizuki sat down as they played cards. "Homura, Mizuki. You have to hear this." A messenger said as he ran with sweat pouring down his face. "What is it?" Homura said. "You have been requested to be an audience of the great mage king." The messenger said, shocking Homura and Mizuki. "The mage king, the strongest mage in the world. The hero of the mages." Homura said in shock. "He's asking for us to be in his presence." Mizuki said in pure shock. "Well you better get going or the king will be mad." The messenger said as they both rushed onto a spare carriage and headed off.
In a golden palace, the golden gates were pushed by the mages as Homura and Mizuki were given access to go inside. They both kneeled in front of a golden throne as the king sat on it, covered by the shadows. "So you lot are the so called 'elemental tag-team', interesting." The mage king said in a disinterested voice. "You will be sent on a mission to execute all villagers of Fukohei Village in the lower-region, leaving no survivors." The mage king said in seriousness and without a hint of remorse, shocking Homura and Mizuki. Homura, shocked by this, with his utmost strength, spoke out. "But they're innocent people, they've done nothing wrong." Homura said before being shot down, leaving a gaping hole in his chest. Mizuki was frightened beyond belief and was scared to even utter a word as sweat poured down his face. However the magic king was disinterested as the rest of the audience didn't even care. "You alone should be able to do it. Even a kid could be able to kill those filthy trash." The king said. Mizuki was about to talk but the king's glaring eyes stopped him in a mere second of eye contact. "You can go now." The king said before Mizuki left with an emotional gaping hole in his chest. 'Why do they see it and do nothing? Why did I do nothing, I'm such a weakling. Damn it.' Mizuki thought as he got a spare carriage as he cried the whole trip to Fukohei Village.
At Fukohei Village,
Mizuki looked helplessly at the villagers with tears pouring down his face as he killed them swiftly and painlessly as the guilt crushed him. He ran as he left the village before glancing at the bright moon. "Homura." Mizuki shouted to the moon. "Why have you forsaken me." Mizuki shouted as he cried his heart out. "They're all evil. All mages are evil." Mizuki shouted as he cried even more before walking off. He walked for a day straight until he reached Nise Village.
At Nise Village,
Mizuki came to Nise village as he saw the mages governing the village and his eyes became filled with bloodlust as he slaughtered all the mages without a hint of mercy. The civilians looked with horror in their eyes. "How could you kill them? They're our heroes." A civilian said, causing Mizuki to laugh. "Hero, that's a lie. They've killed many innocent people, children and women. Mage's heroic acts are nothing but a false wall to hide the truth. They kill one another without mercy." Mizuki said, silencing the civilians for a while until the same civilian realized something. "I know you, you're part of an elemental tag-team, partners with Homura. You're the mage, Mizuki." The civilian said before being hit with a water pulse, killing him instantly. "There is a penalty in this village for whoever mentions or harbours a mage in this village. A death penalty and whoever calls me Mizuki or mage, will receive it as well. I'm the Water Hydra. Who wants to join me?" Mizuki said as people stood up. "This village has been cleansed of evil and I'm your hero." Mizuki said.
Flashback ends
I won't lose to evil. I'm a hero and heroes always win." Mizuki said as rage enveloped him as water rushed into the hideout. "Secret Art: The Wrath Of The Water Hydra." Mizuki said as a humongous three-headed water dragon appeared before giving a huge roar, pushing everything back as Isamu looked at it without fear.
