Chapter 20 - 20 Need you alive

Jolting back, she met a pair of dark eyes with a dangerous aura.

"Your time is up, Pearl. Where's the stone?"

His voice filled the air with a strange power to summon demons to his disposal.

"De...Demona !" She trembled.

He ignored her fear while his dark owl eyes searched for the stone. Immediately his eyes got a glimpse of it, he stretched out his hands, using his powers to draw the stone to him. Pearl felt where his powers aimed at and she resisted. She held tee stone as tight as possible. Demona threw a sharp glare at her and began sucking life put of her. His eyes slowly glowed white as her powers were the purest of all. He smiled a wicked smile watching her drop to the ground with her hand to her throat as she struggled to breath while the other refused to let go off the stone.

She began coughing hard when Aliya intervened. Aliya had cast an invisibility spell the moment Demona appeared. She attacked Demona with her powers, sending a red globe that knocked him to the ground.

Demona rose, surprised.

'Who dared attack the Prince of Evandor?' He thought with rage.

Aliya appeared before Pearl, pulling her up, examining and sending healing through her.

"Are you okay?" She asked in fear for her life. She needs Pearl alive. Pearl could only nod.

Suddenly, the wind became wild. The leaves ran for their lives for they saw what was ahead of them. Aliya hugged Pearl to protect her from the angry wind. She forced herself to look in the direction where Demona was attacked. Her eyes widened and her

heartbeat accelerated.

"Pearl...", she said and pulled her face until their eyes locked.

"Pearl...I need you to run."

Now Pearl's eyes also widened.

"Wh...why?"

She made an attempt to look in the direction of the blowing wind but Aliya made firm her grip that Pearl had to give her a questioning and fearful look.

"Don't." She instructed.

"Run now. Run and never look back."

Darkness began to fill the atmosphere intensely. Pearl couldn't understand why but she felt it wasn't only the three of them around. She could sense more beings and their number seemed to multiply.

Aliya rose, blocking her eyes with her arm from the wind, preparing herself for the war that was to come. She began walking in the direction of the breeze when Pearl grabbed her ankle. She didn't look beyond Aliya because of the wind. She couldn't even search for Aliya's gaze or expression from the surprising grip.

"You can't fight Demona, Aliya. I feel he's not alone." She yelled.

Aliya crouched down to Pearl's level and took off her hand saying;

"And you can't let anything stop you from saving Desmond. My job is here, to protect you. Protect the one you are destined to save. Remember you have to find him."

With those words, she vanished. Pearl was about yelling her name in fear for her life and the words that she spoke but a beast's roar beat her to it. The wind became stronger and Pearl became light on her feet. She ran through the trees and only the path knew where she was heading.
