"What's next Alex?" I thought about this all morning. What's next? It dawned on me. I've just been running around all day, with no end insight. With all the hysteria. I never thought about a plan. Not saying that I'm incapable but I just don't know...
Naomi and Roy Said their goodbyes. They said that they would see each other tomorrow at school making plans. Then we headed out. I still couldn't ride my motorcycle so Naomi insisted on taking me home. I mean I don't mind. Having her around is pretty helpful.
While riding on the motorcycle Naomi asked me a series of questions. "So Alex, When was your first time on a bike."
"Hmm" I wasn't expecting her to ask about that. I said "well my first memory was with my dad holding me on his bike, I think I was about 5 or 6." She nodded her head and said "of course, it makes sense that you fell in love with riding at a young age." I think I answered three more questions about motorcycles. Then we arrived at my house.
I knew I was in trouble when my mom came outside when she heard the bike engine. I swear she looked like a demon. Her eyes were red. Couldn't tell if it was because of her anger or...
"Young man where have you been? Do you understand how worried I was? Me and Mark stayed up all night! I thought something could've happened to you! Do you really want to be like your father? Just leave and never come home for days on end."
(Trisha was close to tears as she looked at her son holding himself. Noticing all the bruising and cuts on Alex's face.)
Mom looked so scared the look she gave made a squeezing feeling in my chest. I felt like I let her down.
"Mom, I'm sorry, I was gonna come home honestly. I-I just fell asleep."
I don't think she's gonna believe me. But Mark speaks up. "Look buddy. Ya gave me and ya moms a scare. You don't even have a cell phone. So it's not your fault but you are grounded. You still didn't get in touch with either of us."
"But." I was cut off from Mark. "You're definitely not riding around on that motorcycle for 2 weeks."
Trisha had finally noticed Naomi. "Ahh another young lady, come in sweetie. I'm sorry for this embarrassing moment." Naomi shakes her head. "No it's totally fine, I kinda wish someone would be mad like you at me sometimes." She said with a gentle smile.
When we walked into the house. There were bags in the hallway. Like someone just came from a trip.
Who's bags I asked. Mark replied "They are your Stepsister's. She just came back from her overnight field trip."
"I have a stepsister?" Mom looked at me and nodded. "her name is Alice. She's a good girl. Pretty cute too."
Wow another sister, like 2 wasn't enough. I was happy being the baby. Like couldn't I have another brother. This time I can kick his ass. And not be used as a walking mannequin by my sisters.
I make a big sigh and head to my room. I tell Naomi to come with me. Right before Mom asked if she's staying over for dinner. Naomi had agreed. Apparently she will just make a call from her cell phone to her house.
As we walked upstairs she asked which room was mine and as I pointed she ran into my room. "Wait!" It was no use she was already in. As I finally make it up to the room. I noticed someone across the hallway. I walked over to say hi and she ran into her room.
"Well...I'll talk to you later Alice." I then walked into my room. Naomi was reading a comic book I had. " I didn't know you were into the Mis4ortune series." It's an old issue I said. "Who's your favorite character?"
That wasn't even a question. No doubt it's Maxis, I said. I then rebuttal Who's your favorite character? She thought for a moment. Then she came up with her answer. "It'll probably be Ainsley." We both looked at each other and said a quote from the comic series. " I guess I just love misery business." We just started laughing.
"You're such a dork." She giggles. She looks around the room and touches everything gracefully. As if she's not trying to disturb anything. She then stopped at the picture of my family and the picture of me and Dad.
"You look really happy here." Those photos were my most memorable days with my dad. He was like a superhero to everyone. Just... never knew he had so much darkness in his life.
I looked at Naomi and I nodded. "Dad was the coolest guy I know." Naomi walked over towards my bed and put her arms around me. I didn't realize I had a sad expression on my face, because hers looked more concerned about my wellbeing.
"Naomi, I see that we are getting close, I don't wanna hurt you." She cut me off and started to talk. "Alex I can take care of myself, Terumi is not a problem for me."
I see she is not going to change her mind about being with me. I put my hands through her hair and rested my hand on her face. "My last girlfriend said the same. She was... strong and beautiful. I don't know if I can put so much on you. I'm afraid you'll break like the flower you are."
She pushes me down on the bed, and is now on top of me. "What was her name Alex." I look her in her eyes. "Jade" Naomi gives me an intense look. "I'm not Jade, I'm not some flower that needs protection. Don't you remember, I saved you. I can handle my own. So let me in Alex. A wolf needs a pack. You can't brood all the time secluding yourself from the rest of us….
So.. let me in Mr.Wolf?"
This is not cool. I think I'm gonna tear up. I feel so embarrassed. I feel guilty on some level.
"Come in." I replied
I don't know what this feeling is about her, but I don't want her to leave. "Naomi would you go out with me? Are you willing to date me? After knowing I'm part of the Fallen Son and going against the Serpents??"
She leaned in for a deep kiss. I felt my breath leave me. She replied with "yes without a doubt" as we began to kiss passionately. The make out session was getting intense. I rise up from the bed. Our hands were moving, feeling each other. She slowly started to move her hands onto my chest. I placed small kisses on her neck. The room was getting warm. Naomi slowly took off my jacket. As I was taking off Naomi's jacket. A sudden voice comes from below. Mom yelled upstairs "dinner's ready!" We both fell back onto the bed on top of each other.
We both look at each other and laugh. She got off me and helped me up. We get ready and head to the kitchen. Naomi had to make a phone call then she would be right down for dinner.
Downstairs in the kitchen
"So buddy. Is she your girlfriend or is it Hermione?" Mark looked at me. I look back at Mark. "No Hermione is my friend. Naomi is my girlfriend. Me and Hermione are just friends, nothing more." Mom set plates on the dinner table. When she finished she placed her arms around me. "I know how you felt about Jade, can you protect this one?" I then stare blankly into space. Not sure if I could actually. I ended up letting Jade get hurt, but I think I got the bigger idea about her and me. "Mom, Jade was special to me, yes. But Naomi was something just as special and simple. It just felt right. If that makes sense. Plus she can pretty much handle herself, she kinda saved my butt. So I trust her."
Mom and Mark looked at each other and then back to me and smiled. "That's how it works Alex." Naomi was behind me. She introduced herself to my family and sat right next to me. "Alright time to chow down." I said but Mark stopped me. " We are waiting for your sister Alex." Aw man I was so close to eating. I just put my fork down on the table. Naomi started to laugh. We talked about random topics and waited for about 15 minutes before mom told me to head upstairs to grab Alice.
Alice I yell, come out,the food is done everyone is ready to eat. I decided to wait for a little while longer. Until I heard a crashing sound. So instinctively I charged into her room. Only to find her playing a video game. "Alice, everyone is waiting for you downstairs for dinner." She looked at me annoyed. Like I interrupted her gaming time. "I'll be down in a couple of minutes."
Ohh hell no, I'm hungry now. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. Then started to walk downstairs. She was struggling the entire time.
Mom and Mark looked flabbergasted. Naomi just shook her head. I sat Alice in her chair. Mom spoke up "Alex you don't think that was too much? Like overboard much." I look at my mom and then Mark. "Let's eat." I said with a smile.
