After a few long and tedious hours, our plane finally landed.
And feeling tired and sore in my legs, I finally arrived in the city L.
As Ikuta said, it was cold here.
I could tell it's even very cold.
My coat and hat, alas, did not save me from the blizzard that raged everywhere.
Because of this, the whole city was submerged in a fog of snow.
But I liked the freshness of the air. Even if my hair was covered with frost.
Although I had to take a few steps towards the taxi, I was almost taken by the strong wind.
"You're here for the first time, I can see it right away," the taxi driver told me while I was sitting in the back seat.
After the plane, the car seat was just the coziest in the world.
I looked out the window and a city with ancient architecture opened before me.
Through the blizzard, I could see tall buildings which almost reached the clouds.
I liked carvings on the columns that held the roof of the theater, I liked the way the houses stood, as if each of them was a whole palace.
For a moment, it seemed to me that this is not a city, but a whole kingdom that keeps magic.
Every house, every building looked like a palace.
Here, for sure, something fabulous can happen.
And the atmosphere of the New Year, felt here more than anywhere else.
I couldn't take my eyes off the view that was opening in front of me with every change of streets through which this cozy car was driving.
For only a few minutes, I was already in love with this fabulous city. With this kingdom.
Leon would love it here.
When a row of high palaces ended, we began to drive through a blizzard that eventually subsided.
Finally, when I saw the distant houses that stood a little further from the city, I took out the right amount of money and was ready to leave this nice elderly taxi driver who had a warm jacket and hat sewn from faux fur.
"Thank you!" he said gleefully, adding, "I hope you like our fabulous kingdom."
I was right, and the locals thought this city was a fabulous kingdom.
When I was again in the middle of a blizzard and cold, I began to tremble.
Following the words of Chancellor Richardson, one of the professors at Socrates University will share his house with me. That is part of the house.
And now, remembering what this house looks like, I walked along a snow-covered path and around me there were only high snowdrifts.
Perhaps the first thing I need to buy were warm clothes.
Finally, when I completely froze, found the same house with a dark green roof, and seeing the number written on the gate, I made sure that I was in place.
When I opened the low wooden gate, I heard someone's voice, "Are you supposed to be Professor Skyemoone?"
I went closer to home, and saw a very tall, muscular man. Despite the cold, he was wearing a plaid shirt, and simple black pants. His hair was gathered in a bun, and his face reminded me of some hero from the fairy tale.
That was a face with expressive black eyes and a slightly tense but nonetheless kind expression.
I reached out to him and said, "You're right, I'm Professor Skyemoone. It's nice to meet you."
He shook my hand and smiled.
Then I noticed that his hand was covered with several scars.
"Richardson was telling me about you," he said and looked around. "Please come in."
As soon as I entered the warm house, I breathed a sigh of relief and when I saw the fireplace I wanted to run there and stretch my frozen hands in front of the fire. But instead, I listened to this man.
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Leiandros, but everyone calls me just Lei."
"What an unusual name."
"As you can see, it is very cold here. But the summer here is just magical. If you came in the summer, you would see a lot of beautiful landscapes."
"Winter is also very beautiful. I've never seen a blizzard like this before."
He laughed and pointed forward.
"Can I ask, what subject are you teaching?"
"Please sit down," he said pointing to the chair opposite the fireplace. "Do you want hot chocolate and plaid? You seem to be very cold."
"No thanks. I've already warmed up."
"Dinner will be ready soon. So wait another fifteen minutes."
"Don't worry. I'm not hungry."
Throwing a few logs into the fireplace, he sat down on the chair opposite.
Looking at me, he smiled and answered my previous question, "I teach history."
"History is very interesting."
"But your subject is more interesting. I always admired by people who are not afraid to think."
I laughed.
It was nice to talk to him. But still, I wanted to go to bed and fall asleep.
"Let me show you the house," he suddenly said, and rose from his chair.
Looking at him, I once again became convinced that he is very tall and very muscular.
I got up and followed him.
"You will live in another part of the house. But you can easily get into our territory just by opening this door," he said opening a wooded door that led into a long corridor at the end of which there was another door.
Also, I should mention that this house also looked like a palace.
Tall windows, furniture, carpets and swords that adorned almost every wall, as well as many different statues and books, created the feeling of the ancient century.
I liked the design of the house. It was like I was in a museum.
"Here's this part of the house, completely at your disposal."
"Isn't it too spacious for one person?"
"You're a person who's looking for inspiration, you need to write, think, so a person like you needs a lot of space," he replied and pointed to swords hanging on the wall. "There are a lot of swords and sabers in this house. As a historian, I just love collecting different antiques."
"You have a very beautiful house."
"And also, you will have dinner with us, and about food, cooking, do not worry. That's what we're going to provide for you."
He stopped near a tall statue of a wolf, and added, "Two more people live with me. You'll be introduced to them soon. Now, you can unpack your stuff and take a shower. The water here is clean and hot. You remember where the bathroom is, don't you?"
"Yes. Thank you Leiandros."
"Just Lei."
