Author's POV
After the fight with Walter, Nancy and I concluded that Walter definitely planned to kill Victoria. We were not sure if he would harm the child too but we were sure he would bulldoze any obstacle in his way, even if it happened to be a child. Walter was so much like Samson, our dead elder brother.
We never knew Samson was getting married. He only told Walter and they carried out everything independently. I, Mother and Nancy heard of the marriage when he had died. Imagine your bro had been married for three months and you only found out when he had died. Well, that was in the past now and I was getting over it. All these was his fault.
Our search for Victoria and Benita proved abortive. Nancy had also hired an investigator to help us find Victoria, since we were doing it alone and failing.
After three weeks, Nancy fell terribly ill. The doctors said it was due to depression and that she needed a psychologist, which we provided for her immediately. She was on bed rest and everytime I went to see her in her room, she always said the same thing.
"I'm so worried about Victoria and Benita. Please find them. Don't let Walter hurt them."
And I kept assuring her that I would, even though I wasn't sure how now.
A week later, Nancy's detective reported with good news- he had found Victoria's location. She was in a
"How did you do it?" I asked him with glee.
"With all the description you gave me. I found her luggage in the city's trash port. I tracked it to a canteen. I'll send the address over," he said.
I was stunned but impressed. He really knew how to do his job well.
"You are very thorough and I like that. I have another job for you and I'll double the pay if you succeed," I offered.
"Okay. But first, you'd have to wire the money for this job" he said.
I smiled, "That won't be a problem. I'll send you the details of the job I have for you soon."
"Okay. Goodbye," and he hung up.
I quickly sent over Benita's details to him. My hope was renewed. Soon, Benita would be found too.
The city where Victoria migrated to was a four hours drive from here. I could wait till tomorrow, since arriving there would be late, but I just needed to see Victoria. I needed to be sure she was safe. I quickly got dressed and got my car keys.

I got to the canteen with the help of Google map and gunned down my engine. I scanned the perimeter. Customers flocked in and out. I decided to wait till it was almost 10pm. You might be wondering how I knew that was their closing time; it's displayed boldly on their LED display board.
After waiting for almost an hour, I got out and waltzed into the canteen. No one was in sight except a white haired fellow at the counter. I walked up to her.
Without looking up, she said, "We're closed for the day."
The voice was Victoria's, I was sure. I felt it in me. That feeling the voice gave me was still in tact.
"I'm here to asked a few questions," I said and watched her body tense.
Her eyes snapped up to me and even though she had changed her look, she couldn't change her eyes. And the eyes never told lies.
