He couldn't get her out of his mind. Everyday, he kept thinking of what to do to rectify his mistakes. He knew what to do but how to do it was the issue. All his attempts had proved futile.
Derek set beside Nancy by her bed. She looked so pale and dry. The once cheery and chirpy Nancy was gone. He missed her even though she was right there.
"Any progress?" she croaked.
He had withheld the information of him visiting Victoria. He didn't want her worried all the more when she finds out Victoria would never forgive them.
"No," he lied. "But we'll get there."
Her eyes looked like they had sunken. "I really want to apologize to Victoria. I want to make things right."
I stroke her forehead, "We'll make it right. Let's just be patient."
"Patient? What if Walter kills her while we're patient?" she asked.
I felt my stomach twist, "He won't. We'll get to her before he does."
The door opened and Walter stepped in. He laughed maniacally.
