Chapter 31 - WebNovel...

I don't like my stories. Especially the ones that are successful. People won't say why they're successful either. I see nothing good about them. To be a little more specific, I'm disappointed in "Pets", and "The Other World And Beyond". They kill my soul with how bad they are. Though, I am disappointed in the performance of "Wild Magics" or "Whistlers!".

I do like Wild Magics more, plus there's a tag on it for strictly male audiences that I haven't changed before the new updates(in my opinion, the updates are bad. Kind of sexist). Moving on, it makes sense that "Pets" and "The Other World And Beyond" are successful. It's because they're actually done and have a "compelling" story for younger female audiences who are still obsessed with gay characters or adventures.

(I do find it kind of strange that some males actually find and read these books too.)

I'm trying to make a more "adult" story, but no one is reading that either. "Wild Magics" is an adventure, but there's no romance, causing more than 60% of all the female readers on this website to not read it, which brings back the issue of the current updates again. Male audiences do read things that women read(based on the tags), and yes, I've seen them. However, the recommendations of all of my books are only shown to female audiences because they're fantasy romances.

Yes, a majority of them are, but "Wild Magics", "The Mindy Gold Case", and even the monstrosity that is "The Abnormal YouTube War" aren't romances. A couple of them are fantasy, but "The Mindy Gold Case" is based on a real setting. There are limited options on what genre I can call my books because the other half of them are on the "male side" of this platform.

They also usually don't make sense, and the tags are disgusting. It makes this place a lot more like Webtoon and Wattpad combined. Plus, you can only use up to only ten tags per book, which is hurtful towards recommendations of actually interesting books and comics. Speaking of which, a lot of stories here are very repetitive. Just like Webtoon, there have been a lot of girl MCs(Main Characters) lately that have either been thrown into a toxic relationship, or have been reincarnated from a poor life to a rich and different one.

I haven't seen a single male MC that isn't gay or tragically stupid, and I haven't seen a single tag that shows good content on the "female side" of the website/app. My stories aren't no better, but that's because I want people to actually read my stories. People won't read them unless the MC is gay, or unless it's a tragic female MC because that's "interesting". I put warnings up, but I know that people ignore them for the sake of their curiosity.

As mentioned before, I said this website/app is a lot like Wattpad. I'm only guessing from the tags that show up when I want to tag my stories. There is a lot of fan based tags usually involving anime or other animated shows. Does that sound like Wattpad to you? And the fact that this is on the "female side" makes it 100× worse. I know I've been ranting a lot, but that's what this entry is about. WebNovel as a whole, and how horrifically scarred this platform became because of the newer generations of storytelling and people in general.

I'm still going to write and read the occasional comic or book on here, but I'm just stating my current issues with this platform. There might be more, but I'm not sure because I'm not here too often. Thank you for wasting your time on me.
