"Who are you?" Rhea asked again. "Why are you holding onto my shirt?"
Rhea tried to pull away from the girl holding her but her grip was so strong that it began to choke her. The students had gathered around with their phones to watch and record what would happen next.
It was a fight between Sasha, the bully, and the new weird student whose name is yet to be known.
"L-leave... Leave me alone." Rhea gasped for air, still trying to free herself.
"Sasha!!" Someone called.
A girl walked towards them, majestically, and everyone began to murmur.
The girl held Sasha's hand, and with a smile, she said. "Come on, Sasha, let her go. You won't want to choke her to death. Would you?"
Sasha scoffed. She released her grip on Rhea, giving her access to successful breathing.
"You're so lucky. The next time I see you near my boyfriend, I'll send you to your grave."
Rhea's eyes switched. She cannot remember having anything to do with any boy.
"Y-your boyfriend? You might have mistaken me for someone else," Rhea defended.
Sasha glared at her. "Shut the hell up!!. You don't talk when I talk," she said, and Rhea nodded. "I won't warn you again, okay?". Rhea nodded. Sasha pulled off Rhea's eyeglasses and smashed them on the floor. "This serves as a warning. Next time, I won't spare you!!" She turned and walked to the door."
"I'll advise you to stay clear. You won't want to lose your life, you know?" the other girl whispered and that made Rhea frightened.
Though she had always been bullied at every school she had attended, she had never been threatened with death before.
"Dahlia!!" Sasha yelled and Dahlia chuckled.
Dahlia pulled Rhea towards herself.
"Sasha doesn't give an empty threat. Be warned. She doesn't share her boyfriend. Leave her boyfriend alone."
Rhea shivered as she watched them leave. She was speechless and at the same time, wondering what just happened. She has just been bullied by someone on her first day at school. This was not her first time being bullied, but this was the first time she got accused of seeing someone's boyfriend. She hasn't met any boy except the rude boy.
Can he be her boyfriend? Did he tell her she was seeing him? Different questions popped up in her mind.
"Why are you standing!"
Rhea jolted back to reality. The teacher was in and she did not know. She must have been deep in thought.
"Are you a new student?" He asked, his eyes boring into hers.
"Y-yes... yes," she shuttered.
He stared at her in shock for a while and then turned to face the door
"Follow me," he said.
Rhea walked behind him, as he directed her to the principal's office. Rhea knew the reason he wanted her in the principal's office. It's a time of the year when new students are not admitted into school not even by transfer. The door opened and they entered.
"Mr. Spooner, I guess you've met the new student. Rhea Scott," the principal said
Mr. Spooner scoffed slightly. "I came to ask if she was supposed to be here?"
"Of course. She's a transferred student of Holly High School". Mr. Spooner stared at her. "Her case is complicated but I can bet you she's good."
Mr. Spooner sighed. "I hope she is. Let's go."
They turned to leave but the principal stopped them.
"Rhea, where are your reading glasses?"
She couldn't tell him the truth, so she had to lie.
"It-it fell to the ground and broke," she stuttered
He sighed. "How do you intend to study today?" he asked.
"I-I... I'll find a way," she stuttered
The principal groaned and took a paper from his table, he stretched it to her. "Go to the clinic and get a new one.". She took it from him and muttered a thank you.
Rhea left Mr. Spooner at the office and went to the clinic. She was lucky enough to get new reading glasses. She hurried back to class. She got to the door and took an excuse.
"Rhea, come in and introduce yourself to the class," Mr. Spooner said.
Rhea walked in sluggishly. The students began to murmur with others laughing at her.
She sighed. "My name is Rhea Scott."
"That sounds like the name of my dog," one of the students yelled and the rude boy laughed.
Rhea blinked. She had never thought that the rude boy was her classmate.
"Darian, that's so rude!" Mr. Spooner said and the rude boy laughed again.
"Will, enough of that or you will get detention."
So his name is Will. Rhea thought.
She has finally gotten to know the rude boy's name. She stared at Will, who rolled his eyes at her. He muttered some words and the students around him laughed. Mr. Spooner glared at him but he ignored him.
"Rhea go and sit with Will," Mr. Spooner said.
Her eyes switched and Will groaned. She noticed Sasha was glaring dangerously at her, her heart skipped.
"You're joking, right? There's no way I'm sitting with her," Will pointed at her.
"Mr. Spooner, can I get to sit with someone else please," Rhea asked.
Will glared at her and she shivered.
Sasha stood up from her seat. "She can sit with Dahlia". She tried to sit with Will but Mr. Spooner stopped her.
"Back to your seat Sasha. Rhea's the one sitting there."
Sasha glared at Rhea before storming back to her seat.
"Mr. Spooner, please can I..."
He shut her up. "You either sit with Will or you get detention."
Rhea let out a sigh. There is no way she is sitting with him; she would rather get detention than sit with Will.
"I prefer the detention," she announced.
The student stared at her in shock. Sasha smiled.
"Rhea, go and sit down," Mr. Spooner instructed but she maintained her position. He sighed. "Bill, sit with Will. When Louie resumes he will sit with Rhea."
Rhea nodded. It's better to sit alone until Louie resumes.
She went to sit down and class commenced. Everyone ignored and avoided her as much as they could. It's her first day at school, and she's already feeling rejected and left out.
The class was soon over and she was happy to go back home, where she would be loved and cherished.
