Drinking and going out to the club have become my daily routine.
I have stopped going to the hospital but I do still ask about mom's conditions once in a while. As for my book? I have no motivation left to continue working on it and I haven't been sober in a while. My drinking habits have eaten up my life. I even get drunk in broad daylight.
I was awakened by the bright light shining on my face. I could tell that it was probably afternoon already. I reached for my phone by the bed table and look at the clock. It's almost half-past one. My head still hurts and I'm so hungry at that moment so I force myself to get up from the bed and head towards the kitchen.
I open my cabinet and grab 2 packs of instant noodles. "There are few noodles left, I better go and buy some more," I muttered.
After I finished eating, I went to brush my teeth and wash my face. At this point, I'm too lazy to take a shower. I change my pajamas and wore a maxi dress. Sprayed some perfume and I'm ready to go.
I search through my purse to see if I still have some cash with me. I'm not broke I just don't want to queue at the ATM.
While searching for money in my purse and around my room, I notice a small crumpled yellow paper near the corner of my drawer.
I picked it up and I felt a sudden chill on my spines. "Woah, what was that," I muttered.
This seems familiar. Without wasting any time, I open the crumpled paper and I suddenly remember where I saw it before. It was the same note that I crumpled and threw away a week ago at the bar.
I started to get goosebumps. That's kind of creepy. How did it end up at my apartment?
I look at the note and it looks like an address was written on it. I was a bit triggered to find out where this address belongs to and why did that person give me this note.
I decided to change to my sport outfit and head out to find out about the note.
I went around the bar and asked people about the address but none seems to know where it's located. I went to Aunt Jenny's cafe and asked her employees but they also didn't seem to know about it.
"That's weird," I thought. Not a single soul knows where this address leads to.
I went around hours trying to figure out the location but I just couldn't find it. So I decided to stop. I'm feeling kind of tired and hungry.
I remember the retro diner last time so I decided to go there.
I arrived shortly after a few minute's walk. I went inside and the same lady like last time greeted me. "Welcome to Retro Diner. Please be seated and I'll be there to take your order in a bit," she said.
I smiled and nodded. I sit at the far end of the diner near the jukebox. It was quiet at the diner. There were only two customers at that time. One was me and the other was a guy sitting at the next table. By the look of his side profile, he sure is one 'HANDSOME' dude.
After I settled in my seat, the waitress came and took my order. I decided to order some Fish and Chips and a glass of hot chocolate.
While waiting for my order to be delivered, I browsed through Instagram. Nothing interesting to see so I scrolled up quickly until I stumbled upon this one particular post. It was Daisy's. I'm kind of over Lucas but when I saw her post hugging Lucas, I was upset. They used to be the people I trust and love but now they were just traitors.
I turned off my phone and try to clear all the negative thoughts from my head. I don't want it to ruin my appetite. Sigh!
A moment later, the waitress came back with my orders. It smells so good. "Thank you,' I said with a smile on my face.
" You're welcome," she replied.
As she was about to walk away, I remembered the address on the note. "Excuse me, may I ask you something?" I said.
"Yeah, sure,"
Showing her the address. "Do you happen to know where this place is? I can't seem to find it. I asked people around here but they don't know about it either,"
She studied the note carefully and smiled. "You're lucky you know. Not all people can visit this place," she said.
I was confused. "What?"
"This is a special bar with a magical rooftop," she said and gave me a wink.
I'm still confused as hell. "Huh? So, you know how to get there?" I asked.
"Of course. It's 3 blocks away from here. Across the antique jewelry shop beside the alley," she replied.
"Uh, okay. Thanks," I said and she walked away.
I stared at the address on the note for while then I took a bite of my food.
"You can just google the address instead of asking people about it. Not everyone knows where you are heading," a sarcastic voice approach me.
"What did you just said?" I asked and pit down the knife and fork.
The gentleman from the next table beside me came to my table and sit across from me.
"I said, you can just google the address instead of going around asking people about it," he said.
"OH. MY. GOD! That stunning emerald green eyes," I thought to myself and blushed. I quickly looked away and stare at the wall.
"If only this place exists on google, do you think I will ask people around me?" I muttered then looked back at his complexion.
He smirked. "Whatever," he replied and stand up from where he's sitting. He heads towards the counter, pays for his meal, and went straight out of the diner. Just like that, he was gone. Out of my sight.
I was a bit embarrassed because for f*ck sake, I blushed in front of him. Like what the heck am I thinking. Yes, he's kind of attractive but he sure is arrogant. Sigh!
After I finish my food, I head to the counter to pay for it. "Thank you and please come again," she said with a smile.
I smiled and nodded at her. I was curious about that arrogant dude so I asked the waitress about him. "I'm not trying to be a tattler but who was that guy? He's kind of annoying," I asked.
She let out a giggle. "That's Asher. He's one of out regular customers. Don't mind him, that's just how he is," she said.
I just nodded with satisfaction. I waved her goodbye and left the diner.
I took a deep breath and muttered. "I will find this place tonight."
