I turn my phone on and typed the address from the note on my phone just to make sure I didn't lose it. That waitress didn't even tell me the name of this place. Just directions which I'm sure I'm going to get lost trying to find it later on.
My outfit wasn't fitted for a bar but I'm too lazy to go back to my apartment to change so I decided to just go with it.
Before I proceed with my journey to find the 'special bar', I called Aunt Jenny to check up on mom. Since my mom is doing chemotherapy, the doctor advised her to limit her phone usage so I can't call her directly.
"Hey, Aunt Jenn. How mom?" I asked.
"Hey, kiddo. She's doing great. By the way, she's eating right now. Would you like to speak to her?"
"Nah, it's okay. I'm kind of busy right now," I replied.
"When are you coming here? It's been a while, we missed you," I could feel sadness in Aunt Jenny's voice.
"If I have settled everything, I will come by later or maybe tomorrow," I assure her.
"I'm sorry Aunt Jenn, I have to go now," I added.
"Okay then. Take care. Don't skip your meals. We love you."
"I love you guys too. Bye!" Then I hung up.
I was feeling a little guilty for lying but finding out where the address belongs to was kind of important right now.
Since the place is only 3 blocks away from the diner, I decided to walk there.
The sun was high that afternoon and it was a bit hot. "Thanked God I wore my athletic apparel," I muttered.
I walk for about 20 minutes now and I'm almost at the third block but I still didn't see and bar signboard.
After a few more minutes of walking, I finally arrived at the third block. I look across the road trying to find an antique jewelry shop but there's none. "Maybe that waitress lied to me?" I questioned myself. I let out a sigh.
I keep on waking and looking until I bumped into someone and fell.
"Watch where you're going,"
That voice seems familiar I thought so I looked up to see that person.
"YOU?" I exclaimed while trying to get up. "What are you doing here?"
"None of your business," he replied.
"Wow, what a rude response," I responded. "Do you live around here?" I added.
He just looks at me and rolled his eyes.
"DID YOU JUST ROLLED YOUR EYES AT ME? You better watch your attitude if you don't want your pretty eyes to be pulled out of your face," I was kind of annoyed by him.
"Wow, feisty. I like," he said and gave me a wink.
"Excuse me, what was that," I was started to get really annoyed.
He just smiled and stared at my face.
"Ugh, whatever. I'm not here to argue with you," with a little anger in my voice. I walked passes him and headed across the road.
"Hey, watch out," he yelled.
I turned my head to the side and a car was heading towards me. I froze. Suddenly, there was a hand pulling me to his arms.
"Do you want to die?" He said.
I was shocked. The car sped up passing us by. I could hear him curse at the driver.
"Are you okay? You should be more careful when crossing the road,"
I just nodded. While still in his arms, I looked up to see his face. My heart started to beat faster and I blushed. So, I quickly pulled away and turned around. It was embarrassing. I could still feel his eyes watching me.
"You're kind of cute when you blush," he said.
My skin got redder. What's up with this guy? He was rude to me a few minutes ago and now he's being nice to me like what the heck?
I started to walk away. Trying to hide my embarrassment. I stride quickly.
"You're just leaving like that? No thank you?"
Without turning around I yelled "thanks" and keep on walking.
"You're going in the wrong direction. The bar's this way," he yelled.
I stopped and turned around. "Did you just say bar?"
"I did,"
And just like that, I walked back in his direction.
