Chapter 1 - Strange beginnings.

The sounds of seagulls flirted with Steven's consciousness. He laid there with his long blond hair sprawled out in the sand. The sun tingled his usually pale skin, now faintly pink.

Steven laid there for several minutes until bursting up off of the ground. He immediately began to pay himself down. Checking his arms and legs, then a long feel of his chest and abdomen.

He took a deep breath and realized he was holding something. Looking down at his now open hand, he saw a locket. The locket was spherical with little blemishes. It looked a little dirty but was clearly gold. There were some tiny splotches of red but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

He looked at it for a second. Possibly hesitating to see what was on the inside. "It could be nothing," he thought. Of coarse there was only one way to find out. So ultimately he opened the locket. His vision blanked out.

Suddenly Steven found himself in a passenger seat of a car. The car was old though maybe 30 years old. In the driver seat sat a young lady. Before Steven could look out the windshield he could hear rain drizzling on the windshield. Looking outside he couldn't see much. Even the headlights seemed to not be working.

Steven looked back at the girl. Her eyes were red and puffy. Makeup was streaking from her cheeks to hir chin. Her pitch black hair was staticky and all over the place.

Suddenly the girl lost control of the car and it began drifting from side to side. Steven grabbed on to the door with extreme force. Steven flinched as the car slammed in to the guard rail.

His stomach began to rise up in his chest. His hair floated around him. He realized all to soon what his fate was.

"I'm not ready to die," he exclaimed.

Suddenly everything became still. Him and the girl were dangling upside down. He was fully conscious. Nothing felt out of place.

Looking over to the girl his stomach dropped back down. She was dangling there dripping blood on the ceiling. A giant rock was piercing her her chest. Although in a dire state she was reaching at the ceiling.

Lying at the top of the ceiling was a shiny piece of metal. No, not a piece of metal. The locket.

The girl reached and reached, but could only tap it. Finally she managed to reach the locket, though she burst in to a loud scream. She managed to lower her self further on the rock. Though barely feeling anything in herself, she forced herself to open the locket one last time.

Steven's eyes focused back on the locket, that was now in his hands once again. In the photo were to girls. One was the girl he saw in the car. "She looks a lot better in this photo," Steven thought.

Her hair was straight and black. The hair fell softly to the sides of her defined cheekbones. Her eyes although hazel still pierced in to him. "She's gorgeous, she was gorgeous."

Next her was a dark skinned lady. She seemed a lot less feminine, at least characteristically. She had a bigger jaw than most girls Steven knew. Though she still had a pretty smile.

Beneath the photo was a small inscription.

-Bri and El bffs forever-

Steven began to walk down the beach. Still holding the locket. "What do I do with this? Should I just leave it here?"

"Steve!"

Steven jolted awake and put the locket in his blue trunks pocket. Looking ahead was a little girl. She was Steven's little sister Amy. She looked a lot like Steven. Though he never liked to admit that. Her hair was lighter than his. Unlike his green eyes hers were a baby blue.

"What do you want Amy!"

"Mom says it's it's time to pack up!"

Steven looked up at the sky. He hadn't realized it was so late in the day. Was he knocked out that long? Or, did they get here late? He couldn't quite remember. All he could think about was that dream.

He looked back at Amy. "Okay, fine. Let's go home."
