Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Sisters

BEGINNING~

In the large city of Maybelle not many pay attention to the small problems of others, as everyone is in their worlds.

Living quietly in this large place are sisters, Tear, and Bell.

They live with their parents, John and Jess Windsong, who fell in love due to their four-letter names that both start with "J".

Tear, the older of the two siblings had wanted to go shopping for some new shoes because hers had worn out.

Her parents, of course, wouldn't send a fifteen-year-old girl off on her own in such a big city.

So they sent the younger thirteen-year-old, Bell to join her. With the excuse of,

"She needs shoes too, so bring her along."

The mother sends the girls away after handing them some money. The sisters then departed off to the shoe shop.

"Hey, back up your breath smells like cow manure!" Tear pushes Bell.

"I'm sorry! I forgot to brush this morning..." Bell says with a hurt expression.

"Huh? Okay... I'm sorry then."Tear suddenly feels guilty.

Bell walks back to where she was.

"So what kind of shoes are you going to get?" Bell asks.

"Well, I want to get a pair of boots, but not any pair of boots, the kind rich nobles get!" Tears eyes light up!

"Wait, you can't get those! You not a noble and since when were we rich?" Bell looks stressed.

"I said that's what I wanted to get. Not like I am going to get those shoes. I'll probably buy some cheap slippers. But don't get me wrong I do want to be a noble someday!" Tear exclaims.

Bell raises her hand and hits Tear on the head.

"Ouch, why did you have to do that?" Tear inquires.

"Because you are a pain sometimes," Bell replies.

The sisters continue until they see the shop with the sign "Sammy's Shoes", which is exactly the store they needed to go to.

An assistant gets the door for them as they walk in. It is obvious from appearance, the girls are commoners.

So without notice, the girls are directed to a much cheaper side of the store. The girls don't heed this difference.

"Hey, what do you think about these?" Bell lifts a pair of fine brown children's boots.

"They are cute, but look at those!" Tear points to a pair of well-made slippers with a small flower design embroidered.

"I think we know what we are getting then?" Bell smiles.

"Yeah, it seems so." Tear looks for the clerk.

The sisters bring the shoes to the counter.

They are casually told the prices and pay.

Two walks out of "Sammy's Shoes" with a smile on their faces.

They can't wait to wear the new pair of shoes they just got.

Without knowledge of their actions, the skipping girls bump into somebody.

"Ahh, the heck was that!?" A well-dressed man yells.

Bell had bumped into a nobleman!

She quickly sees she's in big trouble and gets on her knees to apologize.

"I'm so sorry sir, I had neglected to pay attention to where I was going," Bell says hurriedly.

Tear looks concerned. As the older sister, it's her responsibility to protect her sister so naturally, she puts on her strong face.

The man looks at the sisters coldly and shrugs,

"Whatever, you two just better not do this again!"

"We promise not to sir!"Bell barks.

"Promise not to...hah!" The man laughs and walks away.

Tear shoots him a nasty glare from behind. Bell shakes her head.

"Why do all nobles have to be so rotten towards us commoners?" Tear asks angrily.

"I don't know..." Bell looks down.

The mood of happiness was torn by one of anger.

As the girls finished their walk home they looked rather upset.

But when they reached the door their faces transformed.

Their faces brightened up into relieved ones.

They were just happy to be home.
