BEGINNING~
As the horse's feet inched closer to Tear and Hakken they were anxious. Their fear developed into a panic, they were able to defeat one guard in the dungeon but this many was too much.
"I don't guess you have any special demon powers?" Tear whispers to Hakken.
"I don't have anything like that," Hakken says looking at the ground.
"Those two are probably right around here!" A man's voice is heard.
Tear and Hakken stop moving completely. The hooves of the horses can be seen through the small bush's around the tree hiding them.
"We got no choice, let's run!" Hakken grabs Tear's hand on impulse and starts to run.
Breath taken, Tear is blushing as she is caught in the moment.
"There! They are trying to run away from us!" Gilbert turns over and whips his horse to run after them.
The other brothers chase after.
"Ha-How.. are we... supposed.. to get away!?" Tear yells at Hakken, out of breath.
"We'll run.. until.. we reach that forest...over there!". Hakken yells back, also out of breath.
Tear nods her head and let's go of Hakken's hand. Hakken looks back at her with a confused expression.
" Its.. better for.. me too.. run like this...!" Tear clarifies.
"Alright.. just don't fall behind!!!" Hakken moves slightly more quickly than he was before.
Tear tries to keep up with him. In the hilly valley that their running in they are hoping to reach a forest seen in the distance. But the demon hunters seem to be right on their heels now. It's almost impossible to outrun a horse on foot.
"I can't.. keep... going.." Tear says right as she trips and falls on a rock.
The triplets have caught up with them.
"Tear no!" Hakken turns his head around just to see her get grabbed, thrown on the back of a horse, and tied up around her wrists.
Tear shakes her head, "If I can't escape then maybe you still can! GO! RUN! AND DON'T LOOK BACK!" She yells at the top of her lungs.
Hakken hesitates.
Hakken takes a step towards the horse that Tears on.
"I said RUN! RUN YOU FOOL, I don't understand it myself but, I don't want you to suffer anymore than you already have!" Tear screams at Hakken.
Hakken turns back towards the forest.
"Arghhh!!! I'll be back you hear me!? ILL BE BACK!" He dashes off at his fastest speed into the forest.
Tear sudden feels a small pain on the back of her neck, she starts to see blurry then, just darkness.
Tears eyes start to twitch, she awake in a bed. She begins to get up. She looks up at a woman in the corner of the room.
"Who are you?" Tear inquires.
"I am Anna Chestnut, but you may just call me Miss Chestnut. I was assigned to be your lady's maid." Miss Chestnut bows.
"My maid?" Tear looks confused.
"Yes, my lady, I am to be your maid from here on out." Miss Chestnut answers.
(Tear's thoughts)
"But wait I only remember being taken to the king? so why am I suddenly a lady?"
-end of thoughts-
"Why? I mean, wasn't I just kidnapped by the king, a while ago?" Tear looks confused.
(Miss Chestnut's thoughts)
"It seems that she has lost her memories from the shock of that situation, that's not surprising."
-end of thoughts-
"You were asked by the king to join his family because of reason unknown to me and after long consideration, you decided to become a princess of this country." Miss Chestnut tells Tear.
"I did? I guess I could have? Wait why aren't you addressing me as princess then?" Tear looks at the window, it looks to be late afternoon.
"It seems my lady doesn't know but gossip spreads quickly in this palace, as so to keep prying eyes from overhearing unannounced words I must only call you by the title of Lady." Miss Chestnut explains.
"That makes sense. So does my family know I'm here?" Tear asks, looking back at Miss Chestnut.
"There has been a letter sent to their home." Miss Chestnut answers.
"Ok okay." Tear smiles.
"So what is there to do here?" Tear raises a question.
"There is the work of preparing your mannerisms, knowledge, and preparation for your debut as the third princess of the country of Flowers," says Miss Chestnut.
"The third princess?" Tear looks confused.
"There were two princesses here before you, Princess Serena, and Princess Catherine." Miss Chestnut tells Tear.
"So are they going to be my friends?" Tear asks.
"That is indeed what they are supposed to be." Miss Chestnut starts to look for something in a drawer in the corner of the room.
She pulls out a small painting. It's a family portrait. It has Jess, Tear's mother in it, next to the king of flowers along with the previous king and queen. She hands it to Tear without a word.
"This is-" Tear is shocked.
"I was told to give you that by the king," says Miss Chestnut.
"Miss Chestnut, do you know anything about this?" Tear asks looking up at her.
"Not much other than the oblivious, your mother is the King's sister, Princess Jessica." Miss Chestnut doesn't seem to know too much.
"Hmmm..." Tear begins to wonder if the situation she's in is good or bad.
Tear sets down the painting on the bedside table next to her. She looks at her mothers, younger self and smiles a sad smile. She misses her mom, dad, and sister.
Meanwhile, the steps of a high heeled, expensive shoe clacks down the hall. It stops and bursts to open the door to the room Tear is in. Miss Chestnut immediately bows to the woman.
"Greetings to your majesty the Queen." Miss Chestnut bows down and quickly gestures for Tear to do the same.
Tear bows as well.
"Hmm, I see, this girl is she... Tear Windsong?" The Queen asks.
"Yes your majesty, she is Tear Windsong, daughter of Princess Jessica." Miss Chestnut answers the Queen's question quickly.
"You, Tear Windsong, are you aware of your situation?" Says the Queen in an angered tone.
"I think I am, your majesty!" Tear says nervously.
"You think? You are to be the third princess of this kingdom. You are to be prepared by the established time for the announcement of your existence." The Queen warns.
"I understand, your majesty." Tear looks down.
"You must adequately have it done. You are to be announced princess in five months." The Queen stomps her heels out of the room and two attendants that were hidden outside the door quickly run after her.
"I have a lot of work to do. I am starting to wonder why I even agreed to this." Tear stares at the floor.
"You have to stay strong my lady, if you can't even handle that I'm afraid you won't be able to survive here." Miss Chestnut tries to motivate Tear.
"I understand." Tear looks at her clothing, she's in a nightgown. She looks out of the window and sees it is sundown.
"I guess I talked the afternoon away." Tear laughs.
"You did, I will get you a new nightgown." Miss Chestnut walks across the room to a large dresser and pulls out a nightgown. She lays it next to Tear.
"Please change into it once I leave. Goodnight my lady," Miss Chestnut heads out of the room and closes the door.
Tear looks at the nightgown and sighs,
"This is going to be very exhausting."
